When Freedom itself becomes politicized
that
— is the death of America
(Dreamsleep: January, 2024)
Can we just get gw to write real poetry
instead of all that over-politicized trash ...
Well frankly, my friends, 'frilly poetry's' nearly starved me to death
so, here's another piece of trash with my very last breath
If we can't stop genocide
Then what are our chances with ecocide?
If we can't disengage from competitive economic addictions
to ecocide
Then what are our chances
of giving up politicized military genocide
to restore seven generations
of multiculturally healthy
democratic justice,
Or even making peace through
forty days of Lent?
But, we can start eco-matrimony
in harmony
with bicamerally enlightened
empowering nonviolent
non-hegemony.
Once was a time when you could believe
Things happened like you heard on the news
Now, you cannot be too sure about that
For you are hearing a commentator’s views.
Reporting events has become so politicized
Everything is slanted to the left or the right
What comes across with sarcasm or a frown
Is calculated to instigate an on-going fight.
One network is still promoting Trump’s lies
While another spends all its time refuting
What listeners are already aware is untrue
Hearing rubbish, what’s the point of disputing.
Switching off the network news, I return to print
Where I can check sources and writers up front
I can read an article from several different angles
And make up my own mind, to be perfectly blunt!

Gather round, all ye poets
and hear my plea
For by myself, I'm just a 'wannabe'
I need you here, together with me
Our sensitive hearts cannot bear much more
We're weary of endless culture wars
Our Muses are facing poetic starvation
Midst all this politicized aggravation
What I propose might seem a wee bit weird
But you are here, you've all volunteered
Every man among us, let him show no fear --
To shave off his head hair, and half of his beard
Ladies do the same, except for the beard
That means all that lovely hair, completely sheared
Then we march on the White House, like mystical monks

Lamb to the slaughter
I didn't ask for this life;
I was created in it;
The color of my skin;
It doesn't matter;
I God's vision;
Created by Him, with my mother and dad;
Bullied and mistaken;
Mistreated politicized and misshapen like a lamb to the slaughter;
Innocent victims being killed, wounded, maimed;
government saying what's the matter;
like a lamb to the slaughter;
Single moms having trouble with there sons;
They need a positive manly role model;
Not like a lamb to the slaughter;
For a country composed of people from different lands;
Why are we fighting for and against immigration;
Bullied and mistaken;
Mistreated politicized and misshapen like a lamb to the slaughter;
Innocent victims being killed, wounded, maimed;
government saying what's the matter;
Mistreated politicized and misshapen like a lamb to the slaughter;

Politicized
In an attempt to gain
Advantage by high-jacking grief *
A glaring betrayal of compassion
Cheap predation on emotions
Let justice take its course
And rest in peace

Circle Spin
Uncontrollable sin, Evils strapped in,
a frantic live wire nervous has been.
Uneffective questions, unanswered no intention,
Pulitzer Prized Prisoner unpatented invention.
Politicized Mutation of knowledge starvation,
axis spun, uncircled Sun, life long probation...
