Morning Routines KOTABA KOKORO
2/6/7/6/8
coffee
drinking first thing in the morning
while watching the daily news show
the news depressing me
turning it off, drinking coffee
High in the night sky
The Milky Way shines so bright
Of white ribboned stars
Our two names are scribed there
With ink of an ancient sun.
A single pale leaf
Letting go of autumn’s branch
Falls upon the snow
Sinks into the quiet earth
Sleeping through the endless night.
Chronos~w
A new poetry form mathematically based on pi squared
Lasingerland, the Netherlands, by Bianca and Alexa shared
It gives off a limerick vibe
which is the only form that I can describe
to which it can be compared

Yes it’s true that there’s drama
but there’s never a need to call your momma
Kindness will spare you the boot
You’re an inspiration of God’s grace.
It shows all over your smiling face.
Such bewilderment and dynamic amazement
Touching humanity with such ordainment
You’re an aspiration from God’s dynamic place.
Where birds, bees, flowers, and trees embrace.
Such unity of oneness uplifts precious souls
Reaching heights, yet never told, now unfolds
You’re a supplication from God’s vibration.
That which touches creation with astounding dedication.
Springing forth life, multiplying, astounding, jubilation
Cherubim celestial celebration of angelic enunciation
You’re a quilted tapestry of God’s precious love.
The heart of humanity unfolds such a majestic dove.
Where have you been? Behind which cloud?
Ah—enlightenment seen! A marvelous vision unshroud!
You’re, you’re, you're…!
I do not know the different forms of poetry
To be honest I have no desire to ascertain
So many forms and so complicated
To much confusion for my lazy brain!
I just like to write my thoughts down
A combination of heart and mind
About life and all it encompasses
Usually in a rhyme
I love reading poetry
Be it fiction or the real deal
Humorous, heartfelt, serious, dark,
All topics and opinions on how poets feel
I respect poets who love a challenge
Who appreciate the varied poetry forms
But for me just reading the names of them
Leaves my brain all tattered and torn!
Qawwali, Jueju ,Concrete
Munajat, Vogon,Tyburn, Grook
Only a handful of many
Like words out of a science fiction book!!
My personal preference is to keep it simple
Avoiding forms like Diamanté or Suzette Prime
Continuing to pen my poems
In just good old fashioned Rhyme !
example 1:
recently orphaned adult
seven billion living souls
yet i am from no one
disquieting thoughts
elusive sleep
my children make me smile
example 2:
most glorious day
age sixteen milestone
driving test passed
shared joy with
best friend who
failed three times
I'm here to share with you my thoughts,
untie some knots;
I try to learn
how gold to earn.
I'm thrilled by this advanced technique,
evade critique
when it's on me;
I'm proud, you see.
I know I have to write this form,
It has its charm,
made me reflect;
please don't reject.
Wild rambling roses of a pinkish bloom
dance to the winds down by the sea.
Roots grasping deep in the tall sand dune.
Pussy Willows growing in a grandiose plume.
Cats birds cry from tall shimmering trees.
Pheasant strut in their feathered costume.
Spring is now here, so we all assume.
A white seagull soars in the blue sky above me.
Sunshine’s bright chasing away winter’s gloom.
Nocturnal shadows creep into my room.
I fill my cherished cup with a nice green tea.
Colors fill my mind as twilight now looms.
Essence of lilac, such a lovely perfume.
Soon to be May Day and the wonderful jubilee.
Cleaning the kitchen with a sweep of the broom.
Strong winds blow the sand like a simoom.
I sit on the deck with a glass of Chablis,
lost in thought as my old cat grooms.
The last of the sun’s rays do heavenly illume.
This type of form has a
Total of just ten lines
That consists of Tercets
They rhyme with each other
Tritina looks like fun
Though it may seem tricky
Try it, you might like it!

Tetractys has five lines.
They complete a thought in
twenty syllables as
they ascend or descend
to form pyramid shapes:
they can be reverse too.
To the heart, they appeal.

Sijo from Korea
Shows theme of unrhymed style
Secured by three long lines
Setting clear start at first
Second expounds it well
Steadfast third as ending
Spirit of truth* expressed.

2nd place, "Write About a Form" Pleiades Poetry Writing Contest
Sponsored by Joseph May; judged on 2/19/2022.
Triolet has refrains
The first two lines ring out
They bring it back again,
There are rhyme schemes that flow,
This is a French verse form
That threads the lines with grace
Then ends as it began
