The first time I met Madame La Laurie, was in 1832 When she and her third husband (Dr. Louis La Laurie) purchased me. My first impression of Madame La Laurie was that she was soft spoken, of fine breeding, and very beautiful.

Upon her arrival, she wasted no time filling every nook and cranny at 1140 Royal Street with the finest furniture and china that money could buy. No one looking at the plain exterior of this house, would ever expect such opulence within it walls.

She wore the latest fashions from Paris with a flare beyond rival, even by the most inducted social lights of the hour, which did not go unnoticed. Both men and women, would stop in their tracks to gaze upon this regal beauty as she strolled down the main streets of New Orleans.

Soon, with the aide of her husbands connections through his practise, she, gained acceptance into the higher circles of the community and began hosting what would become, the most sought after dinner invitations in all of New Orleans.

This was the one side of Madame La Laurie that the world saw, but it was I, who bore witness to the other side. NEVER could anyone have ever imagined the atrocities this women committed in her chamber of horrors on the 3rd floor as she maimed, tortured and murdered any slave that displeased her.

                                           ~~~
I was burned badly, when one slave, wanting to end his misery, set a fire in the kitchen, finally bringing her reign of terror to and end, where upon she  fled in her hell driven carriage, into the night, never to be seen again.
Today, I stand here at 1140 Royal street, completely unrecognizable. I have a different face now. The only thing left one would recognize from that day, would be the old path that runs between me and the adjacent house.
Lush green foliage now grows along its edge, in what I like to think, a remembrance to the tortured souls who died here.
Between these brick walls
Bright light filters from above
Old seeds bloom again
BUT...IF YOU DARE to walk between these walls, you...like me, THAT OLD HOUSE IN NEW ORLEANS, might see the apparitions of the tortured souls still residing there.
                                                ~~~

HEAVEN'S NATURE WITNESS OUR DREAM

Outstretched maternal skies
bleeding slowly as the sun smiles,
running golden rays
fugue flux flowed by,
frozen bear-shaped clouds
extend their arms to hug the beams.
Charmingly, the light meets
the earth with a tender embrace...

Escaped warmth escalates,
it raise the speed of roses blush,
dew caressing snake-grass dried in flash,
gold-and-black striped wasps kiss---
the red apples chin and oh how sweet
even the nestled mistrels began to sing!
Skirt-lair of violets and lilacs puff
 luring scents, it populates the atmosphere.

Finger-tantalized tendrils of hair
stroke repeatedly the whistling wind,
gently I clap my hands:
an accompaniment to thumps and stomps
of the two children laughing, dancing 'round and 'round.
Beside me, I hear his heart, beats! Beats! B-e-a-t...!
Beating like a little butterfly fluttering greet,
he planted a silky kiss atop my head.

Under the windows of gigantic trees,
the heavens witness the fruits,
we long dream.
When Cupids arrow land
finally hitting the right hearts:

"Imperfect but perfectly matched"...

Love mimics the tone of evergreens,
the sadness throbs tearing twang
it will be readily forgotten,
unmindful of the questions: how and why...

***FREE VERSE - other term "vers libre", a form that doesn't use or follow a specific consistent meter; a regular rhyme and a particular number of lines. It is based on normal pauses and natural rhythmical phrases as compared to the artificial constraints of normal poetry.

***I love this poetry form because it allows me to write artistically; pattern;incorporate;narrate and include a bit of everything about other poetry forms: rhymes, alliteration, personification, metaphor, prose, rhythm, sounds etc. I as well can limit two lines with its syllable count to achieve beat and intensity. I alone can limit my pen.
 Lastly, it underlines POETRY FREEDOM and POETRY EXPRESSION not limited by rules.

Conceived with unique DNA
a soul-- on the very first day
wonderfully made, our lives begun
we're all redeemed by God the Son

Always remember -- you're unique :-D
the way you think, the way you speak
well, granted, so is everyone
we're all redeemed by God the Son

But sharing our humanity
lets us relate to a degree
and meet unique folks one by one
we're all redeemed by God the Son

With His divine and human nature
the Son was sent, so we'd be sure
trust His Cross -- the battle's been won
we're all redeemed by God the Son

From His side gushed Blood and Water
Mercy for all -- son or daughter
to pay our debt -- the devil's dun
we're all redeemed by God the Son

It's His nature to forgive us
it brings joy to trust in Jesus
in His big Heart we all are one
we're all redeemed by God the Son

Realizing that helps us to feel
God's loving Mercy is so real
not just towards the holiest nun
we're all redeemed by God the Son

Divine Mercy, comfort, healing
offers more than any feeling
what can beat Peace? I know of none!
we're all redeemed by God the Son

Now God wants to get personal
letting the Gospel be our school
following is not constant fun
we're all redeemed by God the Son

This life includes a cross to bear
hardly a splinter that we share
Mary's sorrows can't be outdone
we're all redeemed by God the Son

But good news: our cross is sweeter
Mama Mary helps us! Meet her--
she prays for her children-- a ton!
we're all redeemed by God, her Son

Consoling Him can be a start
Mercy to others, for His Heart
longing to hear from Him, "well done"
Saved and redeemed by God the Son

Who can resist His Encounter
worth more than any amount, sir
we've got just one life, then it's done
now's the time to love God the Son

I dedicate this poem to Thomas Cunningham,
who I admire for the tales he tells in poetry form.

MUTINY

I stands at the bow
Proud to lead
I get the first catch
and splash
Pretense while I breathe
as if our lips our sealed together
in this hallowed breeze
The skill of his hands
that masterfully guide
the ship to the seas
My intricate gown
he sees only in his dreams
as he feels the form
underneath
with his intrepid heart
His feet firmly planted
on deck,
this captain of mine,
steers the ship
He must think of the coins
the greed, the gold
under the nose
of his crew
They often smirk
and besmirch his name
under tobacco’d breath
and the stench
of a whore’s perfume
My hair is in disarray,
I dread his fate
under the hallowed moon
The thunder roars
from a shotgun
into the air it soars
In chains, he’s still in charge,
his thoughts for me alarmed
I’m pale and soaked,
the downpour mad
And so am I
My knees bend
My hands fold
My head bound
to see you through
You stand at the brawny depths
where the sirens roar,
where tremendous teeth
and hideous fins
nearly frighten you
I beg for your pardon,
plead for your soul
The head shark
leans in with stain’d fangs
mercilessly mocking,
tearing up the captain
with dead man tales
The compass spins
wildly as the traitor
vehemently describes
the fishbait before his eyes
The treasured bride
asks for a trade
her life for his
The sand sinks her knees
“No, no, Josephine!”
her sisters on her trail
“Take ours, us two,
save both of them!”
The Lord wipes his tears
and takes the dears
into his arms,
safe from the storm
The tables turn
as a sail
slices the air
rebuking the mutiny
and the crew they stare
as their daring
is circled and bit...
one arm, one leg,
one ear at a time
They’ve seen nothing like this
Then their eyes open
A light from the bow
They rub their eyes
but still they see the captain’s bride
She smiles like the crystal sea
She waves and disappears
The crew drops their gear,
unties the captain,
begs mercy,
unless they go down with the ship!

Sol, with his golden crown, greets me each morning
within divine rays extending out over emerald hills
and valleys that absorb his warmth of abiding light.

View misty alabaster clouds turn from twilight's purple
into softest rose just before golden regal rays emerge
calling forth fowl to take flight into spacious azure skies
winging their way from tree to pole to wherever their
heart’s desire on their quest for food for fledglings with
hungry mouths agape, loudly peeping in their nests.

The sea coruscates in shades of jade illuminations
luring early risers with surfboards to ride the surf.
Share the scents of floral fair that lingers in the tropic air
carried by the trade winds whimsy, enthralling all.

*Kahuna (c. 1890) Kahuna is a Hawaiian word, defined as a respected person who has moral authority in society; a "priest, healer, sorcerer, magician, wizard, minister, expert in any profession (whether male or female) Shaman.

*86: We’ve all heard someone used the term 86 in reference to doing away with something. There are a few schools of thought behind where the saying came from. Some have more legs than others—such as those of the restaurant industry—but to this day, there is still no official etymology.

*The number 7: Throughout the ages the number 7 has defied the law of averages and confounded mathematicians. For many of the powerful and wealthy, the number 7 is a symbol of luck and good fortune. Carry the Lucky 7 with you and experience: A dramatic turnaround of events in your favor. Increased Lucky Streaks.

The Gift....If Only You Knew

Dear freinds, poetry soupers!

So sorry I've not been around lately for I have a message to the world, THE GIFT! I now am
presenting a TV show called Mind, Body and Sol here in Spain. I have also started my
second book, my poems will be posted! love you all!!!!

THE GIFT is the answer of a bright new dawn

The law of attraction in poetry form

These poems guide you to a life of success

They are simple instructions, one can easily digest

I live by the law and my life is so sweet

I would love to share this inspirational treat

What I think about I bring about, It's incredibly true

It's all in the THE GIFT about dreams that come true

We all need hope, and now is the time

The key to success, a changing of minds

When you take this on trust, what you are about to read

It will show you how, in life to succeed.

The theory has been around for thousands of years

But been kept a secret, so it appears

Now it’s out, of this there is no doubt

I would like to tell you what it’s all about.

What you are thinking, and how you feel

Is creating your future, It's called the law of attraction

And on this subject, I have been very well tutored

Life seems to be full of highs and lows

We all need a shield for the knocks and the blows

Controlled thoughts, and controlled feelings

Will grant you your wishes, and all you are dreaming.

Nothing comes easy, like learning to drive

But when you have mastered it well, your spirits alive

Nothing can stop you; you're well on your way

Confidence takes over, it’s a brighter day

The same on this subject, in which that I write

For when you have mastered the concept

Your goals are in sight, you become what you think about

Sounds crazy but true, It's all in the poems

Written solely for you.

Read the rhymes, over and over

THE GIFT will be your 4 leaf clover

We all have the power, we all can succeed

Enjoy the poems

~ Christmas Day Is So Near ~
 (Fives and Threes )

~O~

It's a nice day and
Winter's here
The days are short and the nights are very long
There's peace and all is quiet
And all around you can almost hear the sounds of Christmas now
'Cause Christmas day is only days away
Most folks are preparing their Christmas lists and looking forward with very joyful cheer
Outside the snow like fairy dust falls on the ground
Christmas shoppers hurriedly make their way to all stores, windows displays are beautiful
Children play around making snowmen
There's much joy and happiness in the hearts 'cause Jesus was born.
In just a few more days
Will be Christmas, a most beautiful time
Everywhere
Christmas trees now shine
