I used to hate dresses,
The feeling of air blowing onto my legs and the need for sandals.
I hated the way my light blonde leg hair would shine so brightly in the sun.
High schoolers were so scary,
Taller than me, bigger than me, more mature.
Now I am that high schooler and I still feel that way about

What makes a person likeable?

How they look,
how they dress, 
or maybe who they’re friends with?
I think it’s about how kind they are,       
their willingness to be your friend.

I remember being forced into the darkness, my eyes adjusting. Without light the world exists in a blurry mess of gray and black figures blending together into a flurry of nothing recognizable. I'm stumbling, I'm feeling my way around. I am but a small spec against a sea of shadows. I hear it. I'm running.

They had a special maintenance man
Always kept busy with his little oil can
Keeping the suits free of fleas
And all the joints moving with ease,

Performing Femininity

My womb protects me, envelops me. 
The curves along my waist, breasts, stomach, all value is derived only through extremes, never from ones being.
It isn't and will never be enough 
to be average, 
to be mediocre, 
to be. 
Instead, the individual is then morphed into the epitome of femininity, postured and perfect, or quickly discarded.

…beholding His sustaining hands for service.
