seven men pass by
each the same as the next guy
everyone say goodbye

Slide ever so slowly O Life,
I’ve many a debt to meet still,
Many an ache, pain to treat still,
To do some duties discreet still.
Some were upset in daily drill,
Some lost life's bet, some feeling ill,
Those upset, to welcome back still,
To win back the weary ’s wit still.
Some desires stuck are as dreams still,
Some work be done, debited still,
To heal hurts and harms of heart still,
Bury the dead, soothe bereaved still.
Some bonds that whilst bonding bore chill,
Links broken down on the anvil,
Nurse wounds of all relationships,
Tie up all these pending tasks still.
So, O Life, walk ahead of me,
Can I ever live without thee?
To whose blessing breathes my life,
Can I ever defeat its will?
Slide ever so slowly O Life,
I’ve many a debt to meet still,

Ghazal |11.12.2023| life
Poet’s notes: The year 2023 is about to bid goodbye. So is the life being lived. The poet here entreats time to slide by slowly, he has many a thing to do. Translation of a Hindi piece.

I often sit and ponder
On what our lives could someday be,
If we truly understood
The hearts of everyone we see.
We pass by many strangers
In all the places that we go,
Forgetting lonely faces
Of lifelong friends we’ll never know.
I hate to be so musing
But I just simply wonder why,
We scarcely share a smile
With all the people we pass by…

I lay in the cool green grass,
Getting ready to watch white, fluffy clouds pass.
I lay on my back, facing towards the sky,
And watch in amazement as clouds go by.
Clouds of all sizes and shapes.
That cloud looks like a bunch of grapes.
Here comes one that looks like a four leaf clover.
And I should call that one a dog named Rover.
Maybe I will have good luck,
And see one that looks like a duck.
The clouds are playing peek-a-boo with the sun.
I just spotted one that looked like a gun.
Watching the clouds is a great way,
To spend a glorious, sunny day.
But now, the clouds are thickening and turning gray.
It may not be a good idea to stay.
Suddenly, I see a flash of light streak across the sky.
Now I know it is time to say goodbye.

I stared in the mirror
searching for the face I once knew
my youth has long faded away
an old woman now stands before me
my memories... it does reflect
the decades I've lived thus far
I'm young at heart, but old
when did all that time pass by

on nature rely
a beautiful butterfly
as it would pass by
weather clear and dry
trees had waved beneath the sky
many way up high

While We Would Pass By
while we would pass by
out us we had heard trump cry

Can you imagine Trump doing that.

A Northeaster is coming on Friday
The forecasters say it will “Bomb Out”
They have these new words they use
So, should I pout or should I shout?
I will prepare for a winter snow storm
As we call it, like the blizzards in the past
Knowing heavy wet snow is on the way
Hoping Mother Nature’s brew, will pass by fast

Stars Pass By In Dark Sky
Dark had been the sky,
While stars had been passing by,
That God did supply.

Golden leaves swing with breeze merrily
Hearing cheery music written by your winds
Enjoying beamy warmth of budding sunlight
Awaiting your arrival to enter my daydream,
Your sunny rays made my misty land fertile,
Growing seeds I sowed into vibrant yields
Swaying back and forth in graceful style
Emulating movements of your smiley eyes,
There I linger where you roam in my fields
Asking you to become my jewel of serenity
Finding comfort in presence of your allure
Encouraged by your vibes emitting grandeur,
Soon as my day turns into twinkling twilight
Becoming my vision of our romantic setting,
Your whispers are heard by the starry night
Alerting me to divinity of supernal blessing,
That's when you arrive, bringing lover's joy
Possessing virtues of glamorous enterprise.
Mesmerized by your beauty I'm hypnotized,
Frozen in place speechless, I let you pass by.

Another day has to pass by my friend.
It always changes the way we live.
Our thoughts are not as same as we will be tomorrow.
Our minds keep on growing - an art of learning.
If our shoes will keep us moving forward,
Few met roads will deteriorate in mind.
Because life is ever changing
Till we finally reach the best place to breathe.
We can't save our pretty face many years from now.
You will find a treasure that has a bunch of best lessons in life
Once in a while, many will turn you down
But they will be a reason putting you on the top.
Another day has to pass by my friend
So never be scared if changes are waiting in the end
Just keep on moving and never look back
It will be the greatest ride you will never forget.

As years pass by
Growing up fast year after year,
Shine the pearls of my eyes,
But for funny face in mirror,
Smile comes at a price.
Watching squirrels hopp and pass by,
While endless anxious wait,
Running after him to ask why,
Now stick syncs with my gait,
Swinging trees from my window seen,
Breeze that brings his essence,
As time flies, memories umpteen,
Trick me on his presence,
Drizzling drops to the soul that soothe,
And make hearts go crazy,
Sizzling weather in gala mood,
I keep sitting lazy,
Moonlit nights and morning dewdrops,
Ah those silent crushes,
While pulse occasionally drops,
Now I have hot flushes,
Growing up fast year after year,
Shine the pearls of my eyes,
But for funny face in mirror,
Smile comes at a price.

And here I was again
Up and writing at ridiculous times
But now is different from then.
You see the past saw
Cold lonely nights
Suffering in silence
With nothing but a blade to soothe me.
But now... Oh now is so much different
Because the present sees
Cold lonely nights
Thought of arms surrounding me
With nothing but your scent surrounding me
So I lie here once more
Wondering what the future has in store
Hoping that it'll bring
Warm happy nights
Your arms wrapped tight around me
When no sadness could touch me again

A crazy gloomy highway,
Whacky streets of birmingham,
Catostrophe like winter bloated in winds
Tremble like passion cursed to flow,
Sounds where i heard the first smirk,
Her eyelashes twinkled like whisky sky,
An irish coffee mocked me to look,
Her raindroping hair wrinkled my eyes,
An smothering truth or a soothing lie,
Sip on sip coffee hanged me high,
It was a rainy day,no one to say ,no one for bay,
It was her tranquilizer which made me die,
on the very moment which now pass by
That love on sight like a first pie bite
I hinder this road to look for her,
Which now looks like a labyrinth masscara that she floss on,
Roads came narrow, i glazed on to follow,
She moved to a door, that went inside lamped on floor
It was lazy me ,sure she was nice and it could have been a night
but now its better begin for my Redbricks lane,
My days are bad and luck is hard, let it be let time
pass by
coz her eyes are still in my eyes,
and its still a long winter and coffe shop is just two blocks aside.
