for he was fascinated with her creativity, her wildness and her lack of rules
limits had never applied to her, she was a free-spirit,
someone unlike anyone he had ever met

He feared if he did not capture her heart
he would continue on in his unsatisfying, misunderstood, angry life path.

Premium MemberTo No One in Particular on the Unofficial HOA, Regarding Chickens: aka Weaponizing a Metaphor

here’s your plaque:
best in uniformity & public shaming.

no rooster crows without committee review.
no similes unless they match the mulch.

you scratch the dirt,
then vote on who gets corn-fed
when there's plenty to go around.

not every poem is a zoning dispute,
and I'm hard pressed to name anyone here
an expert in the field. get over yourselves.

she left.
what was the point of that?

you ran off a chance to learn something,
or worse,
ran off a chance to help a lonely person
in need, masquerading what they want to be.
we'll never know now.

all this for what?
the abject terror of an electron less
of validation? grow the f*ck up.

I see you,
paper-bagging praise like contraband,
while circling the coop,
searching for a beak to clip.

I'm going to bed now,
to dream of that first welcome
I had three years ago.
My sincerest hope
is that you'll meet me there.

Premium MemberExcuses for Particular Uses

Pardon me, is that your toe
I just had nowhere else to go

Excuse me, ma’am, I lost my footing
That’s why your dress is full of pudding

Oh, so sorry, you must be furious
I only touched you ‘cos I’m curious

Sir, I really forgot how tomatoes squirt
‘Til I saw the mess on your shirt

And please forgive me 1,000 times over
I thought you’d love my pit bull, Rover

Premium MemberOverly Particular Judges

Those overly particular judges
Give me a halt when I see their contests
Asking to write what I feel
In hard form plus a kyrielle
I better go and take my long bed rests.

At first, I did once, spending my whole night
Started from the topic I needed to write
Half of pantoum, I dozed off
Felt like floated with the roof
My poem was posted after a week, fight!

All entries were judged after some few months
My poem moved to next page, new poems in front
Mine wasn’t found on the list
After passing judges’ wrist
Whose strictness lied on perfect rhymes and fonts.

Those overly particular judges
Give me a halt when I see their contests
Asking to write what I feel
In hard form plus a kyrielle
I better go and take my long bed rests.

A Particular Early Morning Beach Trip Memory

saying good morning to you
a happy moment at the beach
watching you walk by
staring at your butt and admiring your natural beauty
yet and still i choose not to flirt with you
the happiness in the geometry of your vibe leads me straight down to the wedding band on your finger
i walk on with a smile on my face feeling lonely again
i make wishes to myself again and sneak another look at your wonderfully flawless body
as i watch the waves, i remind myself that life is life
i am still a virgin in a world of rapidly passing time
as the sun sets, i think about those that are my Loving Roots who are no longer here
when i look down to my right, i suddenly realize that you are next to me with tears in your eyes
for whatever reason unbeknownst to me, you take my hand and hold it for a spell
you then softly say 'moving on is like calm, warm water that is still a wish'
you then wish me a great day and walk on and eventually leave the beach, never to be seen again
for the rest of my ocean visit, what she said stuck with me like a stubborn, angry bee
it is then that i decide to adjourn to the chambers of the hot tub in my condo to reflect and reminisce

Premium MemberA Particular Species

Oh, what a particular species we humans are
For
At the moment we spend our evanescent life
Undermining the moral foundations this world is built on
Just for a temporal gain,
We kneel before the Eternal when things go wrong,
Imploring, the Lord, to deliver us from
Anything that causes pain,
Forgetting,
That in most cases, we are the ones who
Deserve the blame!

A Much Needed Wish For a Particular Week

take me away
sink me deep
i only have a week
time does not care
let's have some fun

kiss my eagerly anxious lips
smile as you playfully tease me
we only have a week
time does not care
let's have some fun

make her relax
fully release her tight grip on herself
she only has a week
time does not care
let's have some fun

Nothing In Particular

The sun awakes him
Without worry or shame
Wish I could say I smell the roses
That my life is just the same

But he carries on
Enriched by nothing at no cost
I never had him in the first place
So how can I claim to have lost

His endless games make me alert
He's nothing in particular to achieve
I crash out amidst his callousness
I've really nothing up my sleeve

My silence is golden
My armour suited up to boot
There's nothing in particular I want to say
My distance now absolute

A Particular Nod From God

i pray for better days
damona prays for another bone
i pray for damona's health and well being
damona prays for the safety of our next home
i pray for the strength of our underfed bodies to remain intact
damona prays for the lawful elimination of all leashes
i pray for those whose situations are far worse than ours
damona prays for those who are still skin and bones from extreme malnourishment
then we feel God nodding towards a particular area
then we see a man tattered and weary
with the money i made doing odd jobs here and there, i buy the man soup, crackers, and water
i bless the middle aged man with this gift and a five dollar bill
the man thanks us and wishes us Many Blessings and Safe Travels
i reply by wishing for God to Smile on him
as i wave to say goodbye, the man rubs damona's head and softly says 'He Already Has'

Poets Live In Another World

The world,
I possess it in my hands
            wherever I map it...

            the best world,
             I construct...
             Whenever a poetize it...

             The world,
             in another world...
             whatever world I inhabit !

Originality enshrined
      .... shifting truths
of nature
        a fresh sparkle

timeless
     perfection
      in shadowed light
uncompromising
   love in mezzotinct
 surrounded
& discerned
     in the particular
    en plein air

Premium MemberNothing In Particular

I have an empty page upon which
my scribbling efforts will scar.
I sometimes think if it would
like to remain unscathed as it is;
yet, what is a blank page worth
just sitting there...
lest it be crumpled to start a fire
just as scribbling often will.

Nowhere in Particular
David J Walker

Is it enough that
we once
shared the same sky
that we walked the
same streets and
greeted the same citizens
aimlessly passing by

is it enough that I have
cataloged and stored each
yesterday in a frame
of mind
easy to find
although
every page is dogeared and
smeared with the stains
of years gone by

is it enough to have
woken up
next to each other
wondering where
this was going
knowing
it was going nowhere
in particular

Premium MemberGod's Particular Love - John 3: 16

God so loved the world
a world rejecting this love
but God elected out of mercy
His own flock destined for above

That He gave His only son
to go all the way to Golgotha
dying for the sins of His own
this planned by the divine author

That whoever believes in Him
believing in Jesus brings salvation
as God calls come and be saved
from every tribe, tongue and nation

May not die but have eternal life
God desires blessing for His own sheep
So to escape eternal spiritual death
but receive endless redemption to keep

The gospel of John chapter 3 verse 16
has an amazing promise to all
having a particular love on whoever
to not die but obey His urgent call

('God so loved the world that He gave His only son that whoever believes in Him may not die but have eternal life' John 3:16)

Faça mais
comece por fazer sua própria estrada,
Na vida e nos negócios
se uma pessoa segue
um método
indicado por outras
pode ser ultrapassada.

Se uma pessoa
Faz um pouco a mais,
Cria sua estrada.
cria seu próprio método
e segue o caminho que criou
nunca
pode ser ultrapassada.
