I paid my golden years
just to keep you near
But after the cost was laid,
the weight of it carved into my chest.
I couldn’t tear it out of me
so I kept it, like a hidden wound.
It slipped behind my eyes each time,
a crystal lodged inside my throat,
its sharpness tearing me open
Silence was no longer a choice
So my heart screamed in my place:
Let me go…
I have no strength for battles
I was born for peace,
yet all I found was war.
Slim silly fingers betray me
Pain in them silently slaying
Amethyst goals denied delaying
Saddest song in mind playing
Mahogany dreams carry me
Sandy hopes to be pain free
We all face pain, it's part of life,
But it doesn't mean forever strife.
We're not meant to be broken, you see,
We can learn and grow, and be pain-free.
Grieve, cry, let it out,
Don't hold it in, scream and shout.
Silencing pain is not the way,
It will only haunt you day by day.
Don't let pain build a home,
Or you'll feel forever alone.
Turn it into something beautiful and wise,
And you'll see pain through different eyes.
Change is necessary for survival,
It's how we grow and thrive in arrival.
Pain is meant to teach us something new,
So we can learn and better ourselves too.
We get hurt by the same thing repeatedly,
Until we learn the lesson we need to see.
It's planned for us all, that's how it goes,
We learn, we grow, and life then flows.
Some choose to grow love from pain,
While others choose to remain the same.
Pain works differently for every soul,
But we can all reach our own life goal.
So, embrace the pain and let it be,
And you'll find the path to being pain-free.
Learn, grow, and shine so bright,
And you'll find your way towards the light.
Death's bittersweet kiss has released your soul
and stopped your pain
at long last
yet still
tears
stain
my face
for I miss
your smile, and laugh:
though it comforts me to know you're pain-free.
THE PAIN-FREE DENTIST
Now a dentist who’s rich and quite willing
Offers painless extraction and filling
Patients blissful succumb
Quite untroubled and numb
Rest pain-free until they see the billing
My poor right boob, has rainbow colours
After a biopsy the doctors had to do
I’m still in pain, but there’s no weeping
I yearn for sleeping
As dreamers do
Sadly for me I can’t get closure
Until my surgery in January
They cannot confirm, if I’ve got cancer
So I await the answer
But I don't feel blue
My poor bruised boobie is
Red and yellow and purple and green and blue and pink and black and painful!!

You may have noticed I’ve not been so active on soup recently…
Last week I had to have 10 mammograms (ouch x10), which detected a mass, and the next day i underwent a vacuum biopsy, (ouch times a million lol) a week later and the results are inconclusive so I need surgery in January to remove the lump and then I can finally get closure… the waiting is the worst part!
