Openhearted Poems

A Version of Me

There is no strength in fear and flame,
naught but the bitterness of blame,
which leads us all to guilt and shame,
finger pointing and naming names.

Better still our hearts to open,
forgive and live with hope and
honest emotion,
a chain of grace unbroken,
positive words to be spoken,
and put our heart into motion.

Easier though to give anger it’s head,
to wish all of our enemies dead,
leave no damning word unsaid,
and encourage our hate to spread.

And spread it will unless we stand,
take our enemy by the hand,
strive to understand,
declare our oneness before the land,
grace and tolerance to expand,
love for brotherhood our command.

Eschew the path of the xenophobe,
abandon the notion of a divided globe,
tap well into your temporal lobe,
encourage agape to brightly strobe.

What a world it would be,
if they and us became we,
if you and I began to see,
instead of difference, similarity,
oh, to be so free,
and know my brother is a version of me.

A Journey of Two Hearts

A Journey of Two Hearts

Kisses as sweet as the nectar of spring,
Your lips, a melody, soft whispers sing.
Each touch a voyage to realms uncharted,
Where discoveries bloom, bold and openhearted.

New challenges rise like waves on the shore,
We face them together, to grow and explore.
Your warm heart, a beacon, steadfast and true,
Guiding us both through skies gray and blue.

A bond built on trust, honesty's light,
Desires like embers that glow in the night.
Passion ignites in the depth of your gaze,
A fire that burns through life’s winding maze.

Tenderness lingers in every embrace,
A haven of love, no fear can displace.
This journey, this dance, is ours to pursue,
A tapestry woven of me and of you.

Simply, Openheartedly, Indifferently

Rather than hiding self
behind fine phrases
and flowery words,
isn’t it time to live a life with openheartedness?

If sad and lonely,
cry your heart out to the end.
If life is difficult,
toss on the ground pounding a chest.

If enraged,
let it be flamed fiercely thereby, reducing it to ashes.
If you hate someone, condemn him, curse him and
wish him a miserable death.

While you are doing so, your tear filled eyes are
falling shut to rest your exhausted body,
your long and dark night’s anguish
gradually alleviates to a soothing air of daybreak light,
the flame of your anger loses its intensity under blazing sun.
Your hatred dies out in the layer after layer of soft moonlight.

Although life should be simple,
openhearted and indifferent, why are people,
carrying mortification, while deceiving themselves?
Living life disguised with clumsy make-up
as if a crudely painted face of a breathless body
laying in the coffin decorated with a bouquet of lifeless flowers.

Run the Extra Mile

It was an awesome therapy session today
I got a kick outtah your clever puns – you always make me smile
You made my day, good sir – you definitely made my day
I gottah run and finish some tasks– you always motivate me to run the extra mile

You are so sincere and sympathetic…
You are reliable and I am kindah pathetic…
Our conversations are absolutely therapeutic
You are compassionate and openhearted…
On the other hand, I am irresponsible and complicated

It was a somewhat stressful day, but at least I finished my test
I must admit – you made me laugh and made me feel a lot better than before
You brighten up my day, man! – You always encourage me to try my best
I gottah type up a poem or two – you always listen to me…you give me options and more

Full Circle

From darkness was where creation started.
Universally life acquired existence slowly.
Light the power which gave life openhearted.
Love which came grew into passion fluently.

Coming from the power of glory as been told,
Imploding creativity of the soul so sincere,
Revolving into the black holes that appear cold,
Cycles of life may begin again, so ever near.
Look into the abyss, see not dark, see the gold.
Everything has an end, though have no fear.
