from the jar
that you might of used
with your jelly sandwich
If you were me, you’d be inhuman too.
A glance at what we share should make it plain
I’m only human, so I’m just like you.
I need the things I have: too bad for you.
My inconvenience justifies your pain.

The big boys offer me a chance of gain:
if I don’t take it, what else can I do?
I’m only human, so I’m just like you,
and if that means a mountain of the slain,
I’m only doing what they tell me to:
if you were me, you’d be inhuman too.
This cross of lies determines what is true,
and makes our being human inhumane.

So don’t be so judgmental: of us two,
one has to be an orphan of the rain.

As it becomes dawn, the sun brings rays of gold,
We wander through moments, both timid and bold.
Mistakes, like leaves, fall softly from trees,
A whisper of lessons carried on the breeze.
No shame in stumbles, no guilt in the fall,
Each misstep a heartbeat, a lesson for all.
With every miscalculation, a story unfolds,
The beauty of growth, more precious than gold.
Perfection, a mirage, a fleeting sweet lie,
While fulfillment awaits in the truths we untie.
We wander through shadows, embrace the unknown,
In the messiness of life, our spirits have grown.
Let us dance freely, with joy as our guide,
In the arms of our failures, just keep your pride.
For the essence of living lies not in the score,
But in heartfelt connections that open each door.
To live is to stumble, to rise and to learn,
In the flicker of life, let the passion still burn.
With each twist and turn, we may falter and sway,
But it's the journey that matters— this is the way.
In the most anguished moments of my life
times when my mistakes cause me strife
I feel I deserve a birch wood beating
to go unpunished would be cheating
and then I recall
that through it all
with trepidation loomin'

Unless you be judged.
We aren't perfect;
We make terrible mistakes,
And we learn from them.
It's time to spread love.

When you can't protect your own.
If you fear walking on your streets,
the only streets they let you walk
and you're sick of empty talk -
your view changes of what's fair.

When no other way seems left to take
because you took all those ways before.
Enough is enough, that one can't ignore.
If some are more equal than others,
let them feel the same that you endure.

When children die, all hope is crushed
trapped in that world, no breath to breathe -
admonished if you take a knee.
When you sense your own soul dying,
you'll want to strike back somehow.

In another's shoes see what's real
for hundreds of years - trying, failing,
tried the proper ways to no avail -
frustrated for forever flailing.
That's when anger turns to wailing.

I feel blessed for the man I’ll become,
Yet cursed for the boy I am,
Ailing from my Ire of confusion,
Craving an answer to feed my curiosity.
Distraction is my sanity,
Eternal time unravels it,
Yet the only way through this pain,
Is through time,
Holding on to false hope,
Letting go of who I was,
Am I fundamentally different now,
Or did I just repaint the house?
Who am I,
I am everything,
I am remorse and pleasure,
I am melancholy and ecstatic,
I am good and evil,
I am who I am...
I am Human.

I'm sorry that i am not this perfect little angel that you want me to be
I am only human i can not please you all the time
I am no ones fool or there property to be played with
I am the wrong person to mess with when it comes to my heart
I am only human there is things i can and can not do
I'm not you're little demon nor am i you're little angel
I am my own person and i must love myself before loving anyone else.
The power of love ignites a flame
Inside the heart I take over
Both in substance and in name
Though the four leaf clover
I tender surrenders only the lust
Flowing through me when I claim
I love you and deserve the trust
That can shield me from the blame
You pour on me in return
When your seething heart revolts
At the way your heart I spurn and burn
At thirty three thousand volts
Without an iota of remorse
For the egregious evil I perpetrate
Playing your heart in code Morse
As your purity I desecrate
When another woman steals the love
That rightly belongs to you
But I feel so mighty above
Blame for seeking someone new
Shutting down my conscience in a cocoon
Of selfish celebration
While you cry all night long like a monsoon
Poured tears into your deprivation
As though you didn’t deserve better
Than the puny attitude
I couch in every little letter
I send you without any shred of gratitude
To express the regret
Conscience forces on me
In the open and in secret
I’m only human after all, you see.
If I don’t say hi,
Or instead of talking, I sigh,
Don’t ask me why,
I’m only human.
When you look at me then I shy,
Or when you inquire from me I lie,
Don’t ask me why.
When I leave without saying Bye
Or when I live as if I want to die,
Don’t ask me why.
When I quit without giving it a try
And my face swells like that of a pie
Don’t ask me why.
When I look at you and feel to cry
Though my eyes are as dry,
Still don’t ask me why,
Because I’m only human.
Should I come this way again, I wonder what I would see, who would I find left.
If the seasons were the same would the visions and the images remain as they are, does anything or anyone remain, unchanged?
Or would all be erased, eradicated by both time and the eruptive expanses of both man and earth?
Beneath the layers of sand and and dirt would my bones be ground beneath the centuries lost and forgotten? Would the scientists theorize some alien species implanted my DNA here upon this world eons ago? And foolishly would they still venture out into space seeking other worlds and beings when they are incapable of securing peace down here on earth with their own?
The human experience is incomplete and yet we struggle and search continually
for something else, always more, unawares, disregarding what we have here and are yet to see and fully find.
Should I come this way again
would I be able to find me?
