Premium Member TICK TALK

An old clock ticks in the background
Never quite sure of what time it is
Yet steadfastly sure it is right at least twice a day

It will not tell you your blood pressure
Nor will it count your footsteps
Or find you the nearest Starbucks

Its gears will eventually wear down
Softly lose their edginess
Its ticks become a fading whisper

It will slowly become more silent
Its presence less noticeable
Unless it is a friggin’ Cuckoo clock

Premium Member Magnificent, Magnolious Saucer Magnolias

Twenty years ago this month I was in Enid A. Haupt Garden, a manicured
garden surrounded by two rows of saucer magnolia trees. The magnolious
large, cup shaped flowers showcasing breathtaking display of white or
pinkish-purple petals with outer petals of darker shade of pink or purple.

The petals, thick, soft and velvety scattered on the ground and benches.
I was swept away by the pleasant fragrance and captivated by the scent, a
combination of sweet, floral and slightly citrusy. A fragrance so noticeable
for the scent wafted through the garden, creating a pleasing aroma, like a
sweet lemony candy. Unforgettable! When will I see and smell them again?

Beyond the pain

Screaming
Screaming in the inside
No one hears the cries
That come from the dark parts of my soul.
That was Hidden for so long
Pain ive endured became like shackles
Feeling like I'd never be strong enuf to break free....
Fear became so overwhelming that it built a cage to keep pieces of me locked up
The cries get louder and louder until what has been locked up is freed
The time has come
For the small bit of light left noticeable to become the beacon.
To guide what belongs to the world
Back To faith, to hope , to love of God.
For there is where true happiness lies

THE ACTUAL ECONOMY

When the tree bears its fruit
It produces rare resources
Should I start counting?
When capital is accumulated
It manufactures wealth
Should I start saving?
The wonders of the world,

As money falls into your pocket
An accomplishment has been made
Is this money enough?
As the knowledge becomes noticeable
An achievement has occurred
Is it what I deserve?
Secrecy of the world,

When the grass becomes greener
It produces rare opportunities
Should I count?
When capital is invested
It manufactures interests
Should I save?
The mystery of the world.

Premium Member On Behalf of all Canadians

Recently, the President-elect
showed a noticeable lack of respect
when he opined that "Wouldn't it be great
if Canada became the fifty-first state?"

I have a proposal for the President-elect
and forgive me if I am less than circumspect.
Instead of imposing your country on us,
let America become a Canadian province!

That way, all Americans would get universal health-care,
as opposed to your system which is grossly unfair.
And say what you want about our flaws,
but at least we have strict gun control laws.

(And on that point -
although I know you don't care -
mass shootings in Canada
are extremely rare.)

Also, here in the land of Northern Lights,
we have respect for women's reproductive rights.

Yes, Mr. President-elect,
I know my country is not perfect,
but, unlike you,
we know a thing or two,
about respect.

Premium Member BANKING ON ROMANCE

Love affair
Heart to heart transactions in the air
It was a large Banking Corporation Office Tower in New York City
Eyes met
Tony and Regina’s dating set
No With drawl
Tony and Regina worked as Temps for the same agency
Worked in different departments within Investment Management Group of Stocks and Bonds
There was definitely a love thing
However, it was noticeable and plenty of observation
A regular employee of the bank stated, “Tony and Regina have romance going on
It didn’t matter, love was love
I can assure you, Tony and Regina felt it was everything to think of
They even went to Bloomingdale’s 59 and they joked around
In fact, there was this long dinner table fit for a mansion, and Tony played like he was rich and having an elegant affair, and it was a sensation
Not only was Regina impressed, there was an audience that wasn’t expected
Applaud love and Regina behind it
Nonetheless, love story genuine
Suddenly love took a down turn
Not on Regina’s part as my temp assignment had come to an end that day
Regina was out sick
We were so busy dating, and never exchanged phone numbers
Heart struck
Love search

Premium Member Rudolph's Broken Leg

Santa's reindeer were in preparation,
training for the big occasion,
getting themselves in top condition
for their Christmas Eve expedition.

But on this particular Christmas,
Rudolph was experiencing pain and stiffness.
Santa worried about his fitness
and a noticeable lack of swiftness.

X-rays showed Rudolph had a leg fracture,
so he was temporarily put out to pasture;
and seeing as the winds were rather choppy,
Santa delivered presents in a flying jalopy.

Hands

Slime covers esily
It’s engulfing, digesting
Like an acid dissolving with a noticeable hiss
Diffusing into the brain

And just not leaving, Never leaving
It spreads from the handprint
It dampens the cloth and drips

I shuffle

The apology reaches my ears after
But the smirk that is thrown churns my stomach
I have an urge too,
To let me throw my insides
On a cycle above 60 degrees

Let me ruin myself
Make me
Not even a chance to say no before
And now I’m just tired

It follows constantly
The colour of the shirt, the skin
Hands, hands, hands, hands
Tall, too tall

I should be grateful they didn’t.
Shouldn’t I?
I now leave a trail to follow
tainting everything, or is it tint?

The urge keeps growing
Unfortunately I’m not the only one

I just hate hands, I think

Swan Song

Splashes of gold on the pure white wings
as the heavenly blessings from above,
Glorious songs of silence on divine strings
sharing the unfailing love.

Sun caresses the tired feathers,
filling them with new powers,
Circles of unknown desires surround her beauty,
as she waits for the last hours.

The eager eyes scout the horizon
with a noticeable hope for life,
Her mysterious shadow makes the waters quake,
Her many secret longings stay alive,
The dusk is coming on the tranquil lake.

RESOLUTION OF RESOLUTION

Beta and the VHS
Could not be beaten years ago.
A childhood of watching tapes...
These were standard video.

Then throughout my teenage years
The DVD was made.
The quality was noticeable
Because of this upgrade.

Discs progressed over more years...
Along came the Blu-ray.
Evolution yet again
Of picture and display.

Ultraviolet and 3D...
Digital copies too.
Many ways to watch a film...
These are just a few.

These days, resolution lies
In glamourous 4K...
Up to four times better than
The typical Blu-ray.

From what I've heard of resolution
8K is the best.
I wonder how when the time comes
It compares to the rest?
