My Rock

How do you love me?
Let me state the ways...
you're there to lean on
in my darkest days,
you rock my world
but not my boat
and leave no stone unturned
to keep me afloat.
It's nice to know,
at the end of the day,
you're only
a stone's throw away,
and, no matter how near
or how far,
for me, you'll always be,
my very own rock star.
A stepping stone,
not a stumbling block,
my Uluru...
solid, you are my rock.

Tongue Tied in Cliches

Tongue Tied in Clichés: A Blessing in Disguise

A blessing in disguise,
a double-edged sword—
a far cry from peace,
yet all in all,
at the drop of a hat
we reach for a ballpark figure,
beat around the bush,
break new ground,
burn the midnight oil.

By the book we cut to the chase,
play devil’s advocate,
fill the void with food for thought,
start from scratch,
then get cold feet.

Give the green light,
go down in flames,
hit the nail on the head,
find ourselves in over our head,
jump on the bandwagon,
keep something at bay,
leave no stone unturned.

Out of our depth,
past the point of no return,
we read between the lines,
take it with a grain of salt,
see only the tip of the iceberg—
until at last we throw in the towel.

A Chance for Us

It’s amazing how you make me go gaga for you,
Luring me to the sweet sabotage of your charm,
Leaving no stone unturned as I fall for you.

Give me a chance!
To date and best-friend you,
safe from harm and spell.
To write without mistake your name so true,
on every heartbeat of mine,
in a rhythmic art and constant echo,
whispering just for you,
a love song playing deep within me.

Give me a chance!
I long to love you so,
beneath a loving sky,
to sleep without the ache of you away,
to tell in colours our epilogue, the future yet untold,
a story of our hearts, more precious than gold.

And it’s amazing how you look, you know,
The fragrance of your attraction holds its sway,
keeping me on the brink,
where answers lie.

A Beautiful Melody

The sound hits as ton of bricks
And see you flying off the ledge
The state of awe, emotions’ mix
It puts the soul on the edge

As if you found what you missed
Your whole life, in vain hunt
High notes foggy clear mist
While you get hit with something blunt

To grow wings on cloud nine
When life-long yearning satisfied
Those jolting voices are divine
Be drunk and happy and bug-eyed

Them words, they rip, caress and sting
They don’t leave no stone unturned
The fierce vibes of bowed strings
Leave one excited and upturned

Your mind cleansed, you are complete
Must listen times, what a song!
This tune is ever-so-sweet
Until the next one comes along

I am not a preacher

I am not a preacher!
I am not a preacher
Who preaches love and kindness
But when my pen and paper collide
They leave no stone unturned
And no life unchanged.

I am not a doctor
With a stethoscope dangling in the neck
But when words runs through my fingertips
They mend broken hearts
And heal wounded souls.

I am not a sergeant
With a badge of dazzling stars
I am not a soldier
With a precarious weapon on the shoulder
But a pen that scribes in bold
Let there be peace

I am not a pilot
But let the young men and women
Be inspired to fly high
For the only limit is the sky

I am not a preacher,
I say l am not a preacher
But l shall speak to the discourteous world
The ethos of life.

blood sweat and tears leave
no stone unturned move heaven
and earth pull your weight

go to great lengths make
a supreme effort bust a
gut and go all out

give it everything
you’ve got burning desire
step up to the plate

fire in the belly
spur on drive someone get the
ball rolling take pains

take the bull by the
horns jump on the bandwagon
and pull your socks up

eager beaver stay
the course give it your all throw
yourself into it

keep your eye on the
prize light a fire underneath and
pull out all the stops

roll up your sleeves bite
the bullet and pushing the
envelope spur on

Cry Out

It doesn’t matter
that no one can hear you.
Maybe it’s better that way.
Would you be honest
with prying ears?
Leaving no stone unturned,
sharing the darkest note
of your symphony with
a boiling fervor?
Do meaningless minds
alter your self perception?

To hide from oneself
is to vanish altogether.
Given the choice,
one should cry out
before they’ve lost
themselves forever.

Goat Returned

A dear come back, a goat returned
I swore I'd leave no stone unturned
I would search on glade and forest
And hope that God would do the rest

You are challenging to keep up with
 Mr. Stone,
  Yep??

Was it difficult to lose weight
      Since your rolling stone success?
       Yep?

Since you came rock bottom in the skimming
Are you feeling bolder in the skipping?
            Yep

Does winning mean leaving no stone unturned?
               Yep?

Is the public in awe of your success?
                   Yep

                     Are you down to earth?
                      Do you use mineral supplements?
                       Yep, yep,

                        Are you petrified?
Are you still friends with paper?
                          Scissors?
                           May I call you Skip?
                            You rock!
                             Yep, yep, yep, yep, yep.

Cocoon Silk

Safely wrapped up and cocooned
like a woven silken tapestry sage
deep inside a mother's warm and
welcoming embracing womb

I slowly subside and then morph
into a butterfly drenched in froth
like an embryo praying to be birthed

And activate so in order to tantalize
the finery of all the sense's life has
kindly placed on offer

Take in all it's majesty drink it in leave
no stone unturned

In search of the eternal need and
fulfill the desire to multiply

So given since I know from whence I
came from

The only thing that is left worth knowing
of note

Is where I am going and what on
earth comes next

time is all he has
how little no one knows
the end is near
of that he is reminded daily

he sings the blues
for anyone who’ll listen
imagining scenarios where
he’s in love and life is sweet

hallucinations swirl inside his head
as pain killers of every color take effect
between imaginary and surreal
life floats unfettered

the blues his only lover
he sings as best as loud he can
meandering the path alone
down towards the great unknown

countless hours down the hourglass
he ponders the many questions deep
those of life and death
but mostly about meaning

tears in the night
strumming his old guitar
the flow of memories streaming
bound to leave no stone unturned

Something Must Have a Name

I don't consider myself a Poet and a Writer
but something must have a name.

There's a world trapped inside me
Watching the world outside of me
Through the lenses of my being,
What they are witnessing is not foreign
But rather does not possess the deeper sense of meaning.
My heart, the only connection between the two.

From within I pour out a life
In the form of words on this paper sheet
These letters are not for everyone but yours alone,
To provoke and hurt you with the truth that sounds like lies.
Lines that leaves no stone unturned
To reveal that you have not been unlived.

Soon when your wings regains strength
You shall fly so high as if the force of gravity
Has lost its power.
The glitters from your colourful sterling wings
Shall be seen as the stars possessed
By the book of possibilities.
Something must have a name.

A Year Dwindling Down

A
Year set stained by grief from invisible foe,
Enraged in anxiety’s malicious chains.
Accosting not only a nation but world,
Reaching the farthest, secluded parts,
Devilishly leaving no stone unturned.
Withholding grandpa from grandson,
Idly stripping people’s livelihoods,
Needlessly voiding human liberties,
Disabling dictators from their seats.
Looking now,
I see chains now fastened to skin,
New normals of ill compensation.
Grief that forms the setting of each day,
Daily death tolls alike to weather.
Only when
We are free of this eerie foe, shall
Normal be fit again to reside.

Dawn breaks…
over the horizon in a thin, frail line
my large snout presses downward
upon the ragged earth
I am on the hunt
absorbed in my task
scanning and searching
for that elusive scent
that is in my wake.

Like a great detective
I leave no stone unturned
I am proud of my prodigious nose
finely tuned, precise as a compass
I can detect the rarest of scents
I probe to follow that unique smell
to find what is lost...
it is the zenith of my existence.

What, ho! Now, the scent!
My body trembles with the thrill of discovery!
Onward, I go, with eager anticipation
I will not stop until I reach my destination.

Alas, my determination pays off
my master sees the end in sight...

I do not understand his sudden sadness
how he draws back
at the scene set before him.

As I nuzzle close to my master
his salty tears drench my face
my doleful eyes seem to comfort him
as we huddle together
underneath the dry, hot sun.
