They made a horror flick
He was weak or he was sick
They chose him as the star
He can run, but won't get far
They created a wall compartment
Inside his small apartment
They installed cameras there
Reality show, unwanted, but they didn't care.
(bridge)
He felt ill, he began to ail
No idea of the hand pushing down the scale
Romance and work dove down the drain
They laughed and gloated at his pain.
(Chorus)
It’s a horror flick, but the plot is real,
They aren't like us in the way they feel.
He’s the star they chose, but the plot is sick,
Living and dying in their horror flick.
He heard them speak, felt nerve gas in his room
His apartment was a secret tomb.
He knew too much, but the cops would not believe
And he could not save others, for them we grieve.
So, learn the lesson be an owl:
Around us ghouls are on the prowl
They pass as normal, but empathy lacks
And in normal life, there are hidden attacks.
It could happen to you too
Bewildered by all the bad things that accrue
A life derailed, no suspicion why
When the only exit seems the choice to die.
On the last day of the week
you were the first person to ask me
on a movie date
and this was the first time I refrained from hesitation
the first time in a long time I've loaned my bones expose
and as it plays on my unforgivable fidgeting
begins twisting in positions in my seat
trying to lay my head on your chest
without breaking my neck
and I’m sorry I couldn’t just
become comfortable
and I’m sorry it’s about more than
just the movie
and I’m sorry I was more focused
on what I wanted taken
than was capable of giving
and I’m sorry all I can do is sputter off
apologies after you've
long since stopped listening
It's time to watch a movie!
I'll just take a peek at "Prime."
I hope the flick is groovy,
Cuz I watch them all the time!
It's time for intermission,
I'll stretch and flex my flannel.
Silly Ads fog my vision,
Time to search another channel!
Take a long look at your life
no matter its length of years
whether that be short or long
look at how significant its sphere
Make your life like a movie
what would your part be to play?
a starring role or just a bystander
being humble or arrogant, would you say
Thinking aloud about your life
starting from your first day of birth
moving through all life's stages
laugh or cry for all your worth
Look ahead to your future days
no matter how many you've got
make them full of technicolour
remember the good you've been taught
Now make your trailer appealing
so many would want to come and see
be thankful and grateful for all of life
it's yours to live to be free!
(Reflecting on one's life and pondering it as a movie.)

Fifth Element is a movie I've watched a hundred times
yet still each scene exudes an aura of fascination.
The perfect mix of action, mystery and fantasy,
its charm is in its innocence and humour.
The characters are lovable though quirky
and that's what makes them unforgettable.
Friends from another dimension, they need regular visits
because they instantly can warm the fibers of our heart.

Beginning to realize life isn't a movie, but I am the protagonist.
Only God is the director, and the one who builds the cast list.
Sometimes He rewrites the script without notice,
And shifts the scene to sharpen my focus.
There is no rehearsal in life, no second take,
No edits, no pause, just the choices I make.
The spotlight doesn't wait for me to gather my thoughts,
So i speak with conviction, ready or not.
This isn't Hollywood, I'm not here to pretend,
I'm here to become who I was meant to be in the end.
The ending may bring peace or hesitation, a moment filled with joy or desperation.
Life is not a movie, but it has a final destination.
"Exit music for a bad movie"
that shining kingdom
waits and watches
numbed now to nightmares
its falling cuckold leaders
deliver fools gold
hungry homeless open palms receive
broken promises overflowing
forgotten hymns and collection plates
souls are worth blood in buried pain
borders are drawn all are caged
the marriages not made in heaven
shelved for another day
Candide Diderot. ‘25
A film star
It was not her creamy body that caught
My attention, nothing unusual about it
Curvaceous, yes but going soft, it was
Here eyes, in a blink they were blue, green
Or brown, depending on her mood that
Changed faster than traffic lights on
Sunset Boulevard
Between laughter, pain and suspicion
I could see her soul and wide-open eyes
They killed her slowly the famous men
Wouldn’t let her grow up a dumb blond
Forever
I could have made her happy, but when
I found the courage to ring her doorbell
Marilyn wasn’t around anymore.
Zen
Love is
A gold coin
That never rust
Our life a horror movie they played to us in real life
In horror films black people die first
We always make smart decisions
And yet they still manage to find a way to erase us even in film
They don't leave us alone
Not in life
Not in death
Not even in fiction
They do this to show that no matter what we will always be trapped
That even if we follow the rules
We still die
We are still erased
That we still have no control
Over our own fate
We will always be puppets
To a system
That doesn't control by using string
But by barbed wire
Making sure every movement is painful
Making sure we have a slow and violent death
That with every breath
The barbed wire strips another piece of our flesh
Slowly peeling away our blackness
We are seen as the disposable one
In life
In movies
And shows
To be the one who helps
The one who saves
And the one who sacrifices
Their life
For their white counterpart
To make sure they get to the end
Where's our happily ever after
We always get the struggle trope
And when we ask to change the ending
They just say nope

Monocrostic (Birthday of Jean Fabrigas)
Yo Adrian
Hey yo, sometimes you have limon friends and
Sometimes you have yo yo friends.
Hey yo, I’m dumb and you're shy.
I can take you downtown to have some pie.
Hey yo, I should have broken your thumb.
I got a locker and I’m a boxer; I’m a bum.
Hey yo, how do you spell Del Rio?
Look it up in the dictionary Rock. Yo.
I never asked you to stop being a woman.
So don’t ask me to stop being a man.
Hey yo Adrian, go fix the meat.
I’m going to finish my work out and drink some coffee.
I like black, I have a black hat,
And a black jacket.
Mick, why do I have to chase a chicken?
Because you're going to eat lightning and crap thunder. O.K. kid?
Yo Adrian, I won the belt. I did it.
I can take you ice skating. I dig it.
Maybe this weekend I can take you to the zoo.
Maybe I can make some turtle soup.
After 10 years you drop by to help me!
Hey yo, me and Apollo Creed are homies.
Yo Adrian, why do cows wear bells?
Because their horns don’t work. Get it?
Thank you for getting my dog back Bitkis.
You were always in the ring with me, And I still love ya.
Driving Miss Daisy
A good deed.
Driving Miss Daisy.
Put yourself last.
Remain humble and give.
Better to give than receive.
Go out of your way.
No work in vain.
Lead as an example.
Passionate for others.
A friend to lean on.
A good listener.
Old ways to wisdom.
Gonna Fly Now
(1976)
Let's go the distance.
Push against the resistance.
Keep pushing no matter how tired you are.
Stay strong, run far.
There is no day tomorrow.
Keep your dreams alive today and forever.
This is your time now.
Put in the hard work.
When the lights are out, work harder.
Underground at the gym where it’s darker.
This is your story.
Reach for the glory.
If you had one chance, would you take it?
You're gonna fly now, you’ve made it.
Blood sweat and tears.
Wake up early and get in gear.
You were born for this.
You have a heart kid.
Even when I’m old and gray.
All still put up a fight at the gym any day.
You're investing in your health.
I cannot fail.
Feel the burn deep inside.
Dig deep with pride.
Somewhere In Time
1912
It started with a photograph of a young woman.
A love story that should have been.
A story that traveled back in time.
He just wanted her, so divine.
1975 back to 1912.
Obsessed with her into a new realm.
A writer going into the past.
Only if it would last.
One night is all we need.
Plead, come back to me.
A vintage place so long ago.
Ends of the earth to find you.
Standing face to face.
He showed her a penny 1979 mint date.
He lost everything.
Sent forward into the present time.
Love lost from one mistake.
She saw the future, it’s too late.
With a radiant smile, she was gone.
A romantic monologue through a song.
Through hypnotism, in time one chance.
Love through an old photograph.
