You're the best answer

You're the best answer
To the questions in my world
I've loved you through lifetimes
My eternal miracle
Connected through time and space
Beyond the energy of the Universe
Our souls were bound together
When they were made by God's grace
The energy and threads that weave
Through space and time and moments
By the efforts we expend
Through love and light and devotion
I have loved you from the beginning
And I will love you until the end
Throughout the Universe's expansion
Through all the sparks and blessings

(Response to And Still I Rise by Maya Angelou)
Refusing to ever descend after
My mother, grandmother, great grandmother
Have all endured broken wings
To ensure that I would one day be able to catch wind
I rise
Because Maya said so
Explaining to me my existence
Is never burden
Not curse
No, I am heavenly
Her voice like gospel
And I will always respond to good news
I rise
Because I was birthed from dead flames
So you’re damn right I’ve been through hell
I rise
Because too many
Will find satisfaction in my downfall
I’ve been hunted like duck season
Aiming at my every move, so yes
They will be upset when I make it out alive
I rise
Cuz I know no other direction
Built into me like going south for winter
Internal compass passed down
Through North Star guidance
This is instinct
There is nowhere to go but
Up
There’s many a kinds of love;
Many that’s sanctioned;
Better no better love, than God’s
Man’s love is sweet physical OK
Grandparents love is spoiling always
A Father’s love is protecting what’s his, always;
But the nurturer, the mother is the baby cradle
Virtue coming through always reliant
Confident
Mother
Mama
Mom other than God nothings more love
Other than God no one loves your more

What I'd like to give you is
an ounce of my perfume;
not what you may be thinking of,
but you will find out soon.
A special place that I recall
from childhood long ago,
where I would often go and sit
and always loved it so.
It was the walk-in closet
in my mother's big bedroom.
Trying on her clothes amidst
that special, sweet perfume.
Such happiness and peaceful times
I often spent in there-
with smelling cedarwood perfume
that drifted through the air.
The panels of fine cedarwood
had lined her closet well;
and all her clothes, accessories,
held the fragrant smell.
Though not akin to the perfume
you'd normally think of;
the smell of cedar brings me home-
to my dear mother's love.

**Heavenly Father this I pray,
Please banish this sickness from our Goo.
Heal her body in every way,
For now I dedicate her back to You.
**And she's a jewel upon this Earth,
Created perfectly by Your own hands.
She'd been made in Your image before her birth,
She'll serve You in Your favor & will follow Your commands.
**For "God's Favor" is the meaning of her middle name,
Which is why I had chosen to call her Grace.
She'll do wonders for Your Kingdom all in the same,
Setting a happy smile, upon Your glorious face.
**So I ask You to watch over her tonight,
Help her to gently slumber away.
Please make her illness vanish from sight,
Oh, Heavenly Father, this I pray.
She didn’t run – she walked
Her hands by her side
Graceful and girly, like a lady
She was certainly ladylike
I was her girl, her baby
The twinkle in her eye
And the scatterbrained reminder
That love is never silent
One afternoon
As the sun embraced my thoughts
And laughter spun joy through my heart
There were flowers in the meadow
Daisies that had such happy faces
And I was drawn to them the way that
The moon seems to attract the stars
I ran messily toward the flowers
Not more than a few steps away from her
And I felt my heart giggle with delight
When I looked back at her behind me, running
Never more beautiful than in that moment
As sun poured across her shoulders
And I led her into the messiness
Of a childlike happiness and grace
At a gentle, innocent pace
Since that day so long ago - I always imagined
Her favorite flower was the daisy

She survived the attack
Of the turpentine man
When she was just a kid
He had her pinned
To the ground
She ends up in shock
But it was a hoax
From a young adult
Trying to stop
After school fights
As a teen
She met and danced
With the legendary
James Brown at a
Social event in Augusta, Georgia
As an adult
She marched with Hosea Williams
Head of a civil rights group
She was sprayed with water
And had to run away
From vicious dogs
Years later she met
The lead singer of
R&B group called Brick
And took pictures with
Jimmy Lord Brown
My mom is my hero
Her laughter pulls me from the dark and into the light
His smile gives me the strength to continue to fight
Yes life is stressful, yes life is hard
But with these two angels by my side I'll always be on guard
They are my strength, they are my cause
My love for them will never be flawed
Thank you God for giving me two good reasons
To fight off my inner most darkest demons
I love you my children, you were sent to me from above
Nothing, and I mean nothing will ever break this mother's love
She lay on the hospital bed
like a grotesque monster
barely recognisable ...
head swollen
face battered with vivid bruising
hair matted with crusty coagulated blood
the scans revealed
two bleeds on her brain
After nine years
Her short term memory is
Her short memory is
Her memory is

Ancient arenas
Dot valleys of green
Olive tree lined
Stoic serene
Gone is the echo
The sounds of the play
Done is the suffering
Of Antigone
Daughter of Gods
Caring and kind
Her brother’s keeper
Loyal to die
Ancient arenas
Magical myths
Beautiful backdrop
For the nymph I am with
Headstrong and honest
Gorgeous green eyed
Intriguing Igoné
Daughter divine
Keeper of many
Righteous and kind

It doesn't matter that you're no longer here
because in my heart you will always be near.
You were the one who taught me to knit
I recall the hours by the fire we would both sit
me by your side sat upon our sofa at home
when we were knitting I was never alone.
You said it would be handy, How did you know?
My kids I now teach as they start to grow
I'm a Mum now to prove that I've grown
The lessons you taught, used on kids of my own
When I look at them now I think of your face
I just wish I could take them round to your place
Mum you have left but only this earth
Because you were my Mum right from my birth
Always I'll love you never far from my heart
My Mum forever with every smile and laugh.
Again this was for a drink coaster, Thanks for reading it
Mama a strong black sister
doesn't take any mess from no one
she thought me self-respect
was my father and mother
never complain when times got hard
inspired me to be the woman I am
inspired me to follow my dreams
inspired me to be independent
thought me to never disregard who you are
love yourself
never settle
inspired me to never be a lifeless woman
3:00am, the world's fast asleep
But I hear the sound of tiny feet
They're racing through the house and rushing my way
It matters not that I've had the longest day
With a leap and a pounce she makes her presence known
Then snuggles up close for me to hold
The storm outside has brought her out of her innocent slumber
The flashes of lightening and clashes of thunder
To be in my arms is her security and peace
How could she possibly know that she's actually my relief?
For no matter the grief that the world throws my way
This sweet little thing is my saving Grace
I rock her through the storm knowing she'll quickly fall back to sleep
Because in any moment of darkness family is all we truly need
As her eyes grow heavy and her worries grow light
Just holding her in my arms shows me all I've done right
For there is no greater joy or delight in this world
Than hearing "I Love You Mommy" being whispered by your precious little girl
Don't ever miss a moment Don't waste time on unnecessary tears
Hold each day like you own it,
before You know it those days will turn to years
You have to learn to forget the past, but still hold it deep within;
You should not change for anyone!
Because you never know for sure, of the ones, who will be there in the end!
Live your life that makes Your heart smile with such a glow,
and remember it doesn't matter what anyone Thinks, only what you know!
We're only human, we all make mistakes; But learn, instead of follow;
The decisions you make today, could make or break your tomorrow!
Baby girl, your still so young, a big world you still look towards,
But that's why I'm here, God, you and I,
Together we'll walk forward!
Laugh like there is no limit, Love cautiously, but True
Don't step on hearts or burn any bridges,
you may need to turn and walk back through!
Please listen to my warnings, about making your life your own;
Cause only You can make You happy,
And the decisions you are making today,
will be your weight when you are grown!
MAMA CRY NO MORE
The most tender I have ever known
The world of never you created
Best example of love a lesson learnt
Mama cry no more
Stranger no more am I to this world
Mama I have learnt its tricks
The hills are lower now, the tunnels are brighter
Mama cry no more
Mama let me dry your tears
I will pop the toaster, crunch the flakes
Spread the marmalade, bubble your bath tub
Mama cry no more
The jet is ready, your ticket at hand
The line will dress you up with the queen’s taste
The fruits of your labour, its time you had the taste
Mama cry no more.
