Always My Mum
It doesn't matter that you're no longer here
because in my heart you will always be near.
You were the one who taught me to knit
I recall the hours by the fire we would both sit
me by your side sat upon our sofa at home
when we were knitting I was never alone.
You said it would be handy, How did you know?
My kids I now teach as they start to grow
I'm a Mum now to prove that I've grown
The lessons you taught, used on kids of my own
When I look at them now I think of your face
I just wish I could take them round to your place
Mum you have left but only this earth
Because you were my Mum right from my birth
Always I'll love you never far from my heart
My Mum forever with every smile and laugh.
Again this was for a drink coaster, Thanks for reading it
