Two worlds
Can feel like two minds
Two cultures
Two lives
1 heart but 2 homes
Set deep in your bones
And it can be really nice,
The mixture of bread and rice
But sometimes I don't belong to either
Too tan or too light
Eyes a mixture
Almost right
Perhaps like a cold fever
Where I belongs to neither
Just a sight
Falling through cracks
Breaking my back
The language I lack
A never ending stack
Of questions
And concerns
And a turmoil of topsy turvy
Whirling confusion
The delusion
Of who I am.
love at first sight
taste of sweetness from a kiss
loves' disappointment
We're so close, but you still feel distant, like a hand out of reach. I can almost feel it, but almost never seems to be enough with you. I always have to be all in or all out, while you stay in the middle, sending me mixed signals. My Wi-Fi connection is more stable than you. Maybe that's the problem, I keep trying to connect to someone who's emotionally unavailable.
Mistakes of our past are packaged ballads
recorded on an eight track cassette
constantly rewinding itself track after track
haunting us with its infinite instrumentals
of despair,oppression, and depression
No matter how many times
we turn down our audio Pandora Box
the mixed tapes of our mistakes never cease
to record the lyrics of those ballads
composed and sung in those
bitter, powerful , rhythmic
demonic voices
of Lucifer, the front man
and his backup band of dark spirits
endlessly mocking and taunting us
of our past afflictions and transgressions
with their raging, high tempo staccato tracks
like fiery arrows and poisonous snakes
piercing through every fiber of our mortal souls
Bereavement ... oy, oy
Wife... and mother-in-law... die...

I feel foreboding in the air -
my hands, my jaw, my shoulders clenched,
and then, it pelts my exposed hair,
and though I'm feeling wet and drenched,
our thirsty soil will soon be quenched
as sprouting seeds bring the land's rebirth,
and I'll smell the freshly moistened earth.
Humanity has just a handful of races
Real, quantifiable genetic differences
Based on evolutionary adaptation.
The rest of us are just a mix.
Not long ago you got bonus points
For “passing as white”
And now the bonus points come
With being identified as a minority.
The ultimate way to classify us all
Would be through genetics.
So instead of a self identified
Or externally observable grouping
We’d get a number of percentage
Which would go into our digital ID.
This would be most accurate
But also most absurd.
The alternative would be
To finally get beyond race
And simply call us, each,
A human.

Just around life’s next corner
we have no clue what awaits us

The words were written
to inspire a sound
a big bold beautiful
sound
happy enough to smile
melancholy from the frustration
of lacking inspiration
having been blessed with those
who share the interest of completion
and a strong spirt
those music lovers
are willing to collaborate and compose
to complete that full rainbow of
emotion that put's signatures
on something which
pride allows those
to understand.words that inspire music

the sadness of not being able to full afford

I saw him put sand on the epoxy rosined floor
to create a sound when he Tap Danced.
It was his way of helping up
create a sound a melody and beat.
It worked we did several Compositions from
this feat.
Mixed Emotions
Relaxation, serenity of being alone
Happiness, like a dog with a bone
Shoes off, soft grass on your feet
Dreams of the one you long to meet
Lay in the grass, look at the sky
Life is short, you begin to cry
Friends pass away, they leave too soon
You are now alone to stare at the moon
Grassy meadows, rolling clouds
Whispering willows that sing out loud
Warmth of the sun, soft gentle breeze
The day ends, you don’t want to leave
Being in the mix of being Mixed
It's confusing, yet warm and cozy—like being lost is almost easier than being brown.
The choosing of which path to take—sometimes, I find it simpler to remain lost, avoiding the question of who might find me.
Sitting on the fence, being mixed is the truth I carry. The quiet indulgence in the in-between. Nobody knows for sure who from where.
I watch the journey pass—each exit, each departure, some people get off, others sometimes onto.
A glimpse of all—the beauty in both, yet never feeling whole with either.
So I linger where I know best, along for the ride,
never reaching any destination, just drifting in the unknown.
I used to search to be the best at both, master of each side,
but now I simply understand—
for me, being mixed is the in-between,
neither here nor there,
but forever caught in the space between.
Hawaii is the place, raccoon decided, loving the idea of course
He sold his farm, plow, tractor, combine, goats, pigs and horse
Ran to Hawaii to sit on a pink beach and enjoy the sand
He said to his mixed drink, I have found the promised land!
The mixed drink began laughing and could not stop.
You have not seen the prices here, he said. They are at the top.
You should have waited until summer and bought a flowered shirt.
And stayed in Illinois where the houses are as cheap as dirt.
today,
thinking time
flowing…
no peace,
children dying
in war…
victims,
all those dying
in vain…
iced war,
cold melting life
flowing…
love left,
the war took her
away…
justice
looking…but not
seeing…
Just how much courage does it take?
To stick to the plan that I’d made
And why should I be afraid?
To live my own destined fate
When all I could do is hate
All the things that I have said
Can’t I just stay in the bed?
With no sorrows and no regret
But the image of it in my head
Keeps on replaying until the end
