Premium MemberSomething to Munch On

The world too much occupied his mind
left no room for things mundane
busy with intrigues of state and such
from deep feelings he resolutely abstained

So it was on that triumphant day he’d predicted
          his country’s president’s assassination
he absent-mindedly fed into the shredder
          his only daughter’s wedding invitation

Premium Memberhave you ever

Have you ever tried choking? He asked nonchalantly.
“No,” she said. *with a wrinkled nose of disapproval*

“Want to try it?” *His approach couldn't hide his excitement*
“Ok,” she said, absent mindedly running her index finger over his lips.

“you can choke me,” she added slowly,
“if I can stab you repeatedly
with the 7 inch stainless steel
nail-file I keep under my pillow.”

The View From My Balcony

Oh, how i wish you could see,
The view from my balcony,
That is amassed with gentle swaying trees,
And the occasional hum of honey bees.

Down the long winding path,
Little children playfully dance,
Practicing their form and stance,
Far from their mothers protective glance.

Young lovers absent-mindedly clasp hands,
Strolling along with their heavy school bags,
Looking out at the great green expanse,
Forgetting the rest of their day's plans.

As the sun shifts and begins to set
The birds squawk and screech as they begin to fret,
Pleading to their light “no not yet!”
“The day's needs have still not been met!”

Oh how I wish you could see the view from this height,
It's vastness and colours are truly a sight,
Being forever drenched in all its abundant light,
It is my joyful respite.

Premium MemberLight That Lights All Lights

That only sun, only moon, only star each one quests for
That beacon that burns on eternally in each one's core
Isn't it love—that's kind, warm, gentle, selfless, and endless?
Isn't life without it, like a fine flower that's scentless?

Going beyond mundane attraction and affection heights
It's love that rises from a heart that kindles lacs of lights.
Delight of devotion, desire, and dream for the divine
It shines, like lamps of Deepawali, within each one's shrine.

Through, with, and in its light, each one single-mindedly walks
Each one breaks all blocks that hurdle the trails like boulder rocks.
Doesn't one face the futile amusement of absurd death?
Breath merged with the divine breeze—doesn't one attain rebirth?

The Juggernaut

My eyes tell a story
Do you wanna know?
The tempest and the temptations
Are alive but wasn't enough to trounce me

I'm wild and loyal
Resilient and practical
Church-mindedly ruthless and effervescent
A cheerful giver of love not lust

Smirtle! I make you laugh not cause I care
But to show my brawniness
My prowess as a queendom
Goes without the saying - I rule

Not bard of Homer or Avon
But I write
Your destiny not mine
I'm the juggernaut

Premium MemberAcross Realms

Purusha, the consciousness, and prakriti, the matter,
Like glass vessels in the basket of existence clatter;
Beyond corporal, cerebral, and emotional realms,
To Spiritual reality the consciousness whelms...!

Like a migratory bird, having its mission fulfilled,
The soul flies to its homeland exhilarated and thrilled;
Exploring silent salient lands of known and unknown,
Reaches the zone and milestone of peace and joy sown and grown...!

Like a flower and plant and tree encounters the seasons,
Of summer, monsoon, spring, winter, and autumn with reasons;
So too the spirit, mind, and soul passes all fine phases,
Like a horse single-mindedly towards its goal races...!

The lithosphere, hydrosphere, biosphere, and atmosphere,
The exosphere, geosphere, hemisphere, and hydrosphere;
Across each realm, the creature reaches with no resistance,
Attains pilgrimage of perfection and pure existence...!!!

Shunshine

Shunshine was a character I would do for
the Grands when they were little. After securing them in the toddler swings at the park I would push them for a while. Then to mix things up I would absent mindedly start singing
Flo de doh doh doh in a gravelly voice .This was the announcement
that old Shunshine was back in town. With exaggerated movement I would gauge just where
their feet were in the swings arc and would place myself so that when I bent to retrieve an imaginary
object of concern their little toddler tootsies would boot me in the butt.Sometimes I would move out of the way just in the Nick of time to build suspense .When I thought the time was right I would linger at my imagined inspection.Bingo! Then all indignant I would whirl
around and say" Hey!,don't be kicking your old granny.Every last one of them thought it
Was just too much fun. When the oldest was ten I leaned over one day and said Hey Mase do you remember this?, and softly sang Flo de doh doh doh into his ear.A sweet smile played upon his face as he said I remember that.Old Shunshine.

I Am Water

I Am Water
I am water,
I flow single mindedly in search of the sea,
I am a fast moving torrent of rage,
As I rumble over the shallow rapids,
I am a slow and lazy pool of the darkest, still depths,
I hover above you as a rain drenched cloud,
Holding back no more I spill down,
A warm cascade that sooths as I wash away
Discord and debris,
Your parched skin hungrily drinks me in,
I drench the dry banks and nourish new growth,
A slow and steady soaking inwardly seeping,
I fill your spirit and flow through your veins,
I am the current of hope and an inviting cove of belonging,
I flow gracefully around obstacles meant to block my way,
I batter the shores with my rage,
I am water,
I flow single mindedly in search of the sea,
Onwardly around every bend…..

Vacation Fugue

At the deep end of night
when all that can be seen is the digital clock
and the light under the corridor door,
we slip out of our personas -
a fumbled attempt at drowsy love-play;
the plethora of giant pillows
hiding us from ourselves.

The hotel elevator takes us further
into a story we have already written.
Day 3 blurs, sight-seeing
pictures long poured
from the concrete mixer of time.
The machinery of a life
rusts absent-mindedly somewhere else.

Morning arrives in untidy disarray.
The vacation puts on your holiday face and pants,
the pants offer to go get Danish
and a yoghurt from the breakfast bar
while your partner
paints her features a deeper shade of alien hue.

The Effort Continuing

I find this very curious: "When a person speaks of unity with our Creator, and with all of life, including with and for themselves continuing and of just (H) (O) (W) to achieve this effort - the very opposite opposition of some good and worthy people shows up.

Instead of applying ourselves just as (H)onestly, and just as (O)pen-mindedly, and just as (W)illfully as we possibly can; working together to achieve this ever-peaceful endeavor; if, where, and when we still can.

No matter of the varying and inevitable pain of this effort, and of learning this lesson in faith, reliance, and trust in our Creator, and in one another, continuing."

Yes, fear is a crooked and ever-terrible thing!

I should know and stay aware just as well!

Yes, I will always remain to be this opposing way, without my (H)onest and (O)pend-minded and willingly (W)illful submission towards the very action taken upon just where, and if, and when I may be truly helpful, too and for and with our Creator, aimed towards all of life, including too, with, and for myself.

Continuing on into and beyond this very moment on into and beyond all of eternity, on into and throughout all of, infinity!"

Hope Solo Tell Us More

Hope Solo speaks about football like it’s a game no one knows
another American unaware of the rest of the globe
a condescending knowledge noticeably on show
in Europe assuming football’s an unknown

Don’t wish to be rude
but you’re a yank and it’s football
it’s our sport dude
a World Cup winner but not global

You say you only take note of America
it’s why most of the world don’t care for ya
you look like an ignoranus narrow mindedly assured
talking like we don’t know while we laugh ignore

We know more

Borderline K-9 Cages

Parental desperation
is the dreadful flee bidden cause
Children separation
is the inhumane quarantine effect

Trying to cross the sovereign divide
is narrow mindedly viewed, by more than a few,
as a pestilent travel venture
Ill will is the chilling, unhealthy reception

The uncivil solution: Create an insane policy
for poor souls seeking asylum
Man-made designation is an animal control way station,
(also known as) Borderline K-9 Cages

See the perennially sad puppy eyes
laying fetal prone on the morgue cold, concrete floors
Watch the waning wag of the tongues,
their thirst for freedom dying behind iron bar doors

National psychotic behavior is borderline criminal,
keeping children in cages is morally indefensible
Diamondback mutes devolving into what?
Mental worms turning into heartless slugs!

Children developing separation psychosis
is a lonesome doggone shame
K-9 kids were never meant to be raised in cages,
yet no one wants to bear the blame

But many of the kennel keepers
have gotten so inured to the ear-piercing, borderline pain
And the womb-ripped parents
are never told where the aborted-trip children were taken

Lost

She always found her way home before
but this time was different
“Where have you been” he said
“I don’t know” she answered absent mindedly
as if she hadn’t really meant to answer at all
This time her eyes were empty
His heart sank he knew he had lost everything

Premium MemberDestiny

a lonely melancholic caterpillar
wrapped up in its tiny little universe
with its teeny caterpillar dreams
single-mindedly oblivious
to its own destiny
unaware what journey lies ahead
clueless of its fate to soon take flight
on emancipated wings
of a monarch butterfly

Bluebird's Gone

Springtime put a spring in my step
Bluebird brought bright bars of music next
I saw her sip at the faithful fountain; sing soulfully
As I prayed: wishing the world was well, more certain
About the value of various voices: bird, boy, girl, gadfly ...
I threw something out the window, absent-mindedly
What happened next is sad, sadder still, all birds are hurting ...
For you see, what I threw out so absent-mindedly
Was a careless word: "Shush, shush, you sing the same old song!"
Bluebird looked and looked, a long minute without a note -
And as silently as she had surrendered her songs at my abode
She flew off in a fluttery flummox. She has not been seen
Near me. I have been so sorry since, prayed in between -
But my vicinity may welcome the Trinity, but not birds this season
A word - my careless words - have wounded wren and robin
Bluejay and finch, Baltimore Oriole and Barn Owl ...
They stay away ... And the Mockingbird sent word with Guinea Fowl
That I am a moody man, melodramatic, even erratic
(Birds have forgiven; they have fathomed I'm a fettered hummingbird).
