Acrostic
She always found her way home before
but this time was different
“Where have you been” he said
“I don’t know” she answered absent mindedly
as if she hadn’t really meant to answer at all
This time her eyes were empty
His heart sank he knew he had lost everything

The world too much occupied his mind
left no room for things mundane
busy with intrigues of state and such
from deep feelings he resolutely abstained
So it was on that triumphant day he’d predicted
his country’s president’s assassination
he absent-mindedly fed into the shredder
his only daughter’s wedding invitation

Rhyme
In my bed, my childhood teddy layers next to me.
Absent mindedly I trace his now tattered seams,
And his matted brown fur from years of tears and hugs.
Even though I'm old and gray, privately we talk.
No, I'm not feeble-minded as some might think.
I talk to Teddy of my thoughts I had that day.
As long as I can speak, my Teddy is my guy.
He's my greatest listener where so many are not.
If he begins to talk, they'll surely take me away.

Verse
My eyes tell a story
Do you wanna know?
The tempest and the temptations
Are alive but wasn't enough to trounce me
I'm wild and loyal
Resilient and practical
Church-mindedly ruthless and effervescent
A cheerful giver of love not lust
Smirtle! I make you laugh not cause I care
But to show my brawniness
My prowess as a queendom
Goes without the saying - I rule
Not bard of Homer or Avon
But I write
Your destiny not mine
I'm the juggernaut

Free verse
a lonely melancholic caterpillar
wrapped up in its tiny little universe
with its teeny caterpillar dreams
single-mindedly oblivious
to its own destiny
unaware what journey lies ahead
clueless of its fate to soon take flight
on emancipated wings
of a monarch butterfly

Have you ever tried choking? He asked nonchalantly.
“No,” she said. *with a wrinkled nose of disapproval*
“Want to try it?” *His approach couldn't hide his excitement*
“Ok,” she said, absent mindedly running her index finger over his lips.
“you can choke me,” she added slowly,
“if I can stab you repeatedly
with the 7 inch stainless steel
nail-file I keep under my pillow.”
