Less Poems

Premium MemberForks in the Less Walked Roads

I learn to hold a rose’s thorn,
without a flinch, without the scorn,
To withdraw warmth from tempered spring,
Coiled within a cold, hard steel ring.

In alleys closed by brick and stone,
I press my ear for echoes’ tome.
Sometimes the stone rings hollow—
Hidden behind a door I can't follow.

I set my old names down, one by one.
Confronting eyes I

Premium MemberSkill-less Men

Some men betray a basic skill
when standing at a urinal.
Aiming straight, apparently,
doesn’t come easily or naturally –

a basic lack of hand and eye
coordination, apparently.
But then some men don’t make a fuss
of splattered shoes and trouser cuffs.

a soul less killer dies

he didn’t blink
when the light caught his face—
just stared like a dog too long in the rain.

no prayers,
no cries,
no family on the concrete bench.

he killed for sport,
like swatting flies—
and still the world made room for him.

the guards were tired,
the chaplain bored.
death smelled like disinfectant and steel.

he coughed once.
then again.
then silence.

nobody wept—
not even the devil.

Premium MemberPrice-less

White fluffy bunny, finger puppet, my grandson tries on for size.
Hopping off his finger and into the palm of my hand.
He checked price, told me to put toy back on shelf; full size cost less.

Now I smile less but truly

True and Deep within me
I found it
That I have lost
My smile
Which I had used
Hope and soul
But to defend
sorrow and pain
No longer
Will entice
My heart
With its positivity
I know that
I should stay true-
To myself
I owe that
At the least…

P.S. you can read this backwards (too).

Premium MemberOn the Path Less Traveled by Accident

Did we meet when stars aligned?
Or when fate dragged our paths,
to coincide, to bump together,
sidled up, side by side,
by coincidence, in time and space?

Or did we slide into the same path by accident?
Enchanted to dance by chance,
with happenstance and serendipity,
on a path less traveled?

We met in a deserted park,
in a deserted ghost

wishes

There is a wish,
At least,
At last.

When none are left.
And none,
Were ever right.

Though thought,
And worry
Hurried them;

When
There was,
Everything against.

Now we wish for more
And more
Of less and
Less.

Keep caramel hope in your sweet heart
Let it guide you despite days so dark

The Statue of Liberty may shed a tear
But we shall not be moved from here

Salty smiles vile white wicked words
Try to knock down what you heard

Content of chocolate character on display
Never mind the hate be you you’re great

If you weren’t why

Darkness Less Than Light

Darkness is scary, not only because it contains the unknown, but because it IS the unknown.

It can infest, transform, manipulate and takeover our souls.

Darkness is scary, because we can become so damaged, lost, and insecure that we forget who we really are, and begin producing a dull and damaged personality.

It only takes

Premium MemberThe doorbell rings less

The doorbell rings less
As dust assembles
On once polished seats
The old coffee pot
Misses a few beats
As cups gather hopefully
Voices linger
Held by the silence
Seeking a response
The phone chimes
A face time visitor
Fulfilling a duty
Soon they will share
Unvalidated memories
Speak of love
Their words will be lost
In the silence

Becoming Less

The muscles tire,
eyes turn blank.
The heart is afraid,
the mind overflows.
We’re meant to defeat them all —
why did you stop growing?

FINDING BEAUTY IN SIMPLE AND LESS SIGNIFICANT THINGS

If you could find beauty in a piece of chalk,
Others may not find you worth their talk,
But you know that you are the one,
And like you-there are just a few or none.

The beauty cannot be hidden,
It can create a smile in the face of even the bed-ridden,
All you need is to enjoy it,
And find if

Premium MemberI'm just a human, nothing more, nothing less

I'm just a human, nothing more, nothing less,
Drowned in dreams that life will not confess.
Weary of the burden of the world's empty demands,
Breaking my soul with invisible hands.
No savior, no hero, I'm just a man.
The incantation is carved in my ribs,
Swirled in my veins,
Woven through the fibers of destiny.
I called you once, and I'll call
