He dwelt, he pondered, he thought for a while,
A smiling elder, older than his youth’s own smile.
Those pictures reminded him of his younger stockpile,
His dreams were bigger — hunger was his style.
But regret drained him, pain washed him thin,
Laundering his will, plundering within,
And now his unsung tone revealed just one note —
“If only I could reclaim the time I never bought.”
He closed away this very text, and looked upon it —
“Time I have,” he thought.
But once, even Time remarked —
“I am the destroyer of all dreams sought.
Nothing is lost, but nothing is what it seems,
He who wastes me becomes my theme.”

There's a pile of sullied threads on the floor
from muddied quarrels of our yesterdays
Remnants of life that we stripped bare
like sheets from a bed needing laundering
It's a hoard of soiled and frayed toggeries
too foul from words to be properly cleansed
I thought of trying to bury the lot of it
but shoveling the hurt left blisters on my hands
Invasive memories haunt many of my dreams
They are suffused deep within my thoughts
An inured scent of us will linger, unbleached, abused
like worn jeans as long as they remain unwashed
How long before I can ignore them lying there
gathered and rumpled in an alcove in my mind
Dark stains that only bring me pain and discontent
Too tainted to be purified by dirty human hands
Though curved like a question mark,
she walks without a Zimmer frame.
Will she ever veer from
the narrow,
nonsensical
dirt road?
She earns,
mopping, scrubbing, laundering, and currying.
She’s often gifted with
rice, tea powder, jaggery, sari, soap,
and so on.
Thanks to the munificence
of her mistress.
She saves and stores,
living in parsimonious penury.
She loses her delicious delights
in spending tension.
A schlock existence –
everything safely decays in her store.
There’s certainly a spark of work
(even at the dog-end)
of her life.
But when will she live on the earth?

When you're burgling, awareness is best;
When he saw her, he thought 'twas in jest.
Forgetting the shih tzu,
Or Granny's jujitsu,
Both his shirt and some charges were pressed.
Theft and laundering just do not pay,
Not when Granny is holding the spray.
Got starched for his error,
He stiffened in terror;
Slapped with irons, they took him away.

Will Be Such A Surprise
4987
All the truth you hear in Trump lies,
Will always be a complete surprise;
Were really reeling;
Laundering and steeling;
Being the truth each one of us denies.
Jim Horn
Deep in the woods
The dirt road went deep in the woods where bad things happened
There were shacks in the trees with guard dogs in front of them
Traffic went in and out, with ongoing illegal activity happening
License plates on the vehicles would change, when they leave
They had free reign to do anything, cops in their pockets participated
Drugs, money laundering, assaults, abuse, all the worst kinds of acts
People came from out of town and out of state too, for a long time
Later the shacks burned down, leaving the rubble near the brook
Remnants of evil laid on the ground of children’s lives fractured
--- In the woods ---
