Premium Member The Contract

Jack and Jill went up the hill.
Actually, more like a grassy knoll.
They fell down the knoll
neither fast nor slow.
The bucket fell with s bang below.

Since they failed the contract,
Council decided to remove it.
 Jill said,"Don't blame Jack.
It was some guy called Mack.
Besides, you'll never be able to prove it."

Under the shining yellow autumn leaves,
I kiss you softly in the flowing breeze
I hope that you know, I will always be here
Even when I’m gone, my love will be near
Look at the beauty to be found any place
I will forever be holding your face
Remember my eyes, they show my soul
I will still be standing on the grassy knoll
With open arms, waiting for you to arrive
Our memories will always be there to survive

Premium Member Verdant Grassy Knoll

verdant grassy knoll, cardinal flying warm summery sun
lullaby ready buzzing of jet plane, gorgeous memories
scent of sweet lilacs, drone of lawnmower and songbirds trilling

Premium Member Ere the Grassy Knoll Gathers Momentum

Early on, ere the grassy knoll gathers momentum
huddled shivering against the ground, stemless tops
of yellow dot the lawns of the old neighborhood, signaling
winter's demise without shouting Spring too loudly...

In a wink or a blink of an eye, these wild buttons
mushroom, spreading far and wide, usurping
the green mantle of my lawn, stems now shooting forth
twisting and turning at jagged angles, bizarrely...

at times, wild undergrowth barging into a (civilized) urban plot
when poof! their signature yellow smiles vanish, dispersed into
puff balls, architectural marvels, wind-scattered seeds, ubiquitous
but not before my inner child picks out a lovely bouquet
    for my saintly mother

Death Knoll

Oh sing yon violin upon your strings
and play harps and lutes melodious things
come sooth my soul and for our losses
and shatter pain upon our bed of mosses

Dost thou dare to stay our hearts entwined
do cast your light and airy within our mind
so also to our agony do make us blind
where in time we shall life kinder find

Do misdirect my thoughts upon a fairer course
lead me now away from paths remorse
fail not to impart joy and from its source
and to the courts whats odious I do divorce

and there expire bitterness and mans afflictions
unto the burial sites with their benedictions
the ends of tribulations on the morrow
as I have some aspersion to this sorrow

Come twist your ropes do wrap in harmony
the golden strand in archetypes that be
fluid in the cups elixir we do drink
to shelter from woe and misery we sink

Clasp the inner man intone your song
return to us the living among our throng
embrace the consolation and hold whats dear
for upon us all this place draws ever near

Humble Knoll

Hello my Lord, I sing for the harvest from thee.
Just one hymn of praise, from me to you,
Thank you for guiding, my rows of seed they see.
Blessings of warmth and rain, you gave true.
Both sun and moon keep watch, by you they do.
Universal glory, given from your precious heart,
I shall always give thanks, to you from the start.

The harvests you have given, each year with love.
Blessed are we that partake, of what you provide.
Seeds planted in chastity, transcended from above.
Your glorious power enriches the land in pride.
Nurtures our bodies, feeds our soul, as you decide.
Hear these words, though meager from my soul.
I pray, for a harvest of love, upon this humble knoll.
