Kabash Should Wash Off Squash
Oh why not can go ahead and kibosh,
And while you are at it start to wash,
Bottom to top;
Do not stop;
Off all of the surface of yellow squash.
Jim Horn
Another cooking poem.
Imagine still thinking
There’s some way
To please everyone
It’s simply impossible
No matter how we try
It can’t be done
There are people who
Live to kibosh dreams
They lurk in the dark
They’re everywhere
And can’t be avoided
Keep your face to the sun
Chase your dreams
Follow your star
Realize your destiny
Be proud and live your life
To please yourself

Oh my gosh!
Utter bosh...
Waves swash,
Watery slosh,
Simply awash,
Auto wash...
Oughta quash?
Lost me galosh!
That's not posh.
Put the kibosh-
Don't josh!
It was a cold metal burn,
love fatal GSW
A bullet to the head,
exited my heart
Shot went straight thru
Silencer tears
pressing on the pillow,
buried me in my sleep
Whispering to the half-dead dying:
It was business not personal
Such empty words offering no real comforting
Nine hundred and eleven seconds of fame
briefly made me
a statistical passionate-less victim celebrity
An emotional second amendment casualty
The first responder
who came to rescue me,
she was too late ...
much too late
Too much time had passed
since my lungs collapsed
Her CPR kisses couldn’t revive me
It was too late,
much too late
Too much time had gone by
since my world collapsed
I was pronounced brain dead,
with her lavender scent still lodged in my head
Femme fatale tears
kibosh pillow buried me
Now I have only dead feeling dreams
in my dirt-covered sleep
A love I thought was real,
was only a zombie sleepwalking fantasy
I wish I coulda shown some signs of life
to the first responder
who tried to revive me
But it was too late,
much too late
Poor getting poorer; rich man getting fat.
Wake up, America, and
Put the kibosh on THAT!
April 4, 2017 for the Form K - Kimo Contest of Broken Wings
Note: I looked up the definition of Kibosh and could only find that it's used as a phrase "put the kibosh on (something)" meaning to stop it!
The sky has put the kibosh on shadow
The sun seeks a slice of shade
But, alas, all in vain

Not For Contest
It’s good you put the kibosh on the horse
It’s better still now and then
Allow it pink freedom

You can only hide from the truth for so long before it finds you
Walking around and doing wrong it's soon going to come due
You'll no longer be able to hide what you thought was hidden
I certainly don't mean to chide but it's yourself you are kidding
So many before you have tried and we all see how that went
So many have also lied not saying what they really had meant
But it all got figured out as it ended up coming out in the wash
This the end of a long tiring bout as reality finally put the kibosh
Others will continue to try in going about weaving their wicked web
Often using their elected clout in the allowing of such snares to ebb
Crashing down they too will come and their names forever smeared
For no one is really that dumb even if they end up getting cleared
The truth is the best policy in that it shall never cause you to fall
For the truth shall set you free in the breaking down of every wall
Always have the truth by your side in each and every battle you enter
Deflecting all the things that they have tried for truth is at your center
What srubs a soap rub with panache
And stops cleansing acts that won't wash?
For Lady Macbeth
Having planned Duncan's death
Great guilt hands her plans the kibosh
(Another classic example of undoing is the cheating husband who comes home with flowers
for his wife after the fact. It doesn't wash off)
