Whisk Me Away On the Voice of the Wind

Capture me...
The wind gently sighing through the rose bushes
Stirring their sweet scent as their dresses unfold
The Moon tenderly illuminates a hidden path
I can hear the stars singing twinkling notes
Trudging forward, there's a light that awaits us
A disruption of tears crash down
How have I lost my courage?
I am thrown before an emerald mirror
I see a girl who is unknown but known by me
What has happened to her?
Movements that imitate each other I miss this young girl
She asks me why I shut her away
And I couldn't answer her through my tears...
I want to beg her to come back but I can't anymore...
That little girl,
The innocent, kind, naive girl was me...
But as I grew I slowly lost her...
One day, she just disappeared...
I miss her so very much
The person I have turned into....
That's now the real me

Midnight Chime

Confused as hell, I hear the bell,
a moment froze in time.
As clock strikes twelve at midnight
which day is on the chime?

Yesterday, Tomorrow... or Today,
where does it go?
What is this moment lost in time,
which day? …I'll never know.

You may think I should not worry,
whatever is the day.
But moments of my only life
are lost by me this way.

So tell me as the midnight chime
rings fleeting time away.
Is it now, before or after
that I'm losing every day!

Elements and Me

The fire burns in my eyes
My face is filled with the light
But second-sight is lost in the sea
I'm free to be this lost mystery
The silence engulfs my bleeding heart
My brain swells with crashing waves
But time is moving to slow in here
I'm trapped within this endless dream
The wind blows my body to dust
My place is blue in this truth
but memories keep me at bay
I'm lost with the falling stars
The static drinks all my blood
My veins are filled with pain
but feelings only fade away
I'm dead to anyone who cared

The Passing of a Footnote

THE PASSING OF A FOOTNOTE

without foresight
or future concern
we cast our stones
into the waters of uncertainty
the river holds us certainly

epic ignorance
existence in spite
maleficent macrocosm
the truth lets you know
it's ok to let go

ghosts of the past
a friend found at last
we succumb to fears
being lost in the years

the pages of time
we think we headline
the history book
selections children wrote
the passing of a footnote

is there lost consequence?
or does this all make sense?

Premium Member Lost and Lonely Waifs

Standing in the frigid wind outside the bus stop doors
She seemed lost and lonely as the cars past with a roar.
Waiting for my only child the son whom I adore
I couldn’t help but wonder where was she headed for?

The prodigal returned through those same two frosty doors
But though the night was getting dark no one came for her.
Stopping right beside her, the radio blaring a Christmas score
We asked her if she needed help could we do any more?

Her wind burnt cheeks rose with the smile she wore
“Thank you, no.” She said. Her eyes they did explore
the warm interior and the street stretched out before
My folks are late but coming soon at least I’m pretty sure…

We left her there before the door yet still my heart implores
How many lost and lonely waifs are left standing by the door?

Silence

Silence
falls as the windows close to cold air
when the baby sleeps she sits alone
hands idle
unable to write music or even listen
to the symphonies in her head
she is lost in the silence
more lost than she knows
careless pregnancy
she hides in the exhaustion of young parenthood
unable to embrace personal success
and her life will pass
in this most useless way
her music unheard her voice unsung

Lost

If you don't think you'll find another
Just because you lost the other
Then what you had was never really yours.....

Don't think about the things you wanted
You'll only wind up dissappointed
Just to face another closing door....

Anything that's momentary
Is meant for someone else to carry
So set it free and you will not reget....

Sometimes it will leave you grieving
But be thankful that its you its leaving
Don't let it be a lesson you forget....

Dont get so deep in every moment
Because you never really own it
A paradox that's moving you through time....

If you believe you heart was meant it
and couldn't sieze it when presented
Then what you lost was really in your mind

Hard Pressed Search For Positivity

Today I’m reminded of regrets caused by life’s imperfections;
Once upon a time my face didn’t suit expectations;
And I can’t help but pounder; was she but a victim also.
Practicality continually told me we were both being foolish
But my heart; it would not listen;
Love won is worth the gamble it contended;
But the delusions of society turned it to a sad joke
I lost a friend I cared for; a talent worth mention;
And I see now the impressions left behind;
Serve as reminder that;
I’m lost here with nowhere to call home.

Father it’s me again. It’s been too long between talks
Days, years: restless lost wasted years
Choices made based on greed, pride, arrogance and misbegotten dreams
It’s difficult at best to understand how You can still love me
The blessings continued throughout it all
I had Kristofferson on the stereo asking Why Me Lord
Now I know I just want to come home
One more shot at doing it right, conscience not materialistic ideals
Finding peace within myself, empathy for those who cannot.
The journey was a bit different than I imagined
Detours, lost highways, dead ends. Many roads. Wrong ones
More light at the end of the dirt roads
Than the ones paved in gold
Harder to reach your destination
But the accommodations were better in the end
One more thing I meant to say and never did
Thank You Father for the hard times
Thank You for the trials that helped strengthen me
At the time, I didn’t understand
Now I see. Tears can cleanse the soul
Only when they are real.

Premium Member Another Day, Another Fight

Another day
another night
another day
another fight.
I've lost my way
I've lost my sight
I want to stay
but I take flight
when nerves are fray
and sparks ignite.
Another day
another night
another day
another fight.
So I pray
with all my might
to find a way
to make things right
try to convey
all my insight
what I can't say
I try to write
and keep at bay
my endless plight.
Another day
another night
another day
another fight.
It's not OK
I'm not all right
the price I pay
is out of sight
and what I say
is never right
there is no way
to make this right
don't want to stay
don't want to fight
another day
another night.
