Premium Member "Give Yourself Props, And Notice"

There long ago was soul,

Daring and bold,

Who shifted more weight than was told.

They made available themselves props

For the battles they immobilized and noticed

Their power taking hold.

Give yourself props, don't delay

You've achieved every step of your way.

When you delay and take heed

You'll see your own bull's eye

Has carried you day after day.

"Give yourself props, don't be reserved-

You endured what they swore you'd deny.

When you stop and take note of the strife you

Out-wrote

You'll see you're the reason you fly

Give yourself props- funny thing

How we clap for the minuscule of wins.

But the truth that you miss is you've

Interacted all this-

With grace that deserves violins.

Eagles

… I wanted to tranform into a leaf,
And observe,
How that handsome eagle
Interacted with his eaglets or with his mate;

The positions they stayed in their still moments,
How they greeted;
Did they look each other in the eye?;

How they interacted with each other
If they had been separated for a long time;

And then I wanted to be transformed into a ghost
And sit in a room
And observe humans;

A family,
A solitary,
A couple;

The place they stayed the most,
Their still hours,
Wach them in their positions as they slept;

The End of Suffering

We live melodramas and are mad clownish characters, unaware of who we really are. I was made aware of this by three young boys, who were part of a hillbilly
family living in the forest. When they came and interacted with us it became painfully apparent. They were the elders and we were living in a mad world, seemingly incurably insane, and running wild. I believe they had little or no contact with today's world. I changed that day, and eventually realized that the problem was we never live in the now. We think we do, but it is an illusion, that keeps us enslaved and deeply brainwashed. There is a way to find your true self,
seek... The Power of Now, a book that can help you live the life you want, need, and deserve! The life that you live is in a dark tunnel, The Power of Now is a light at the end of it. There you will find joy and peace...forever!

Premium Member Clearly Misunderstood

Some years ago I met a young lady
Looked unhappy, a definite maybe
I also found her pretty ugly too
Never smiled or interacted with you.

One day came modification in her
She chatted and laughed as never before
With a glow in her eyes, a smile mile wide
And a happiness she just could not hide.

The reason for the turnaround I found
She’d been alike a prisoner, housebound
On edge, just in case her shackler appeared
She’d come to find sense and run from her fears.

So I had clearly misunderstood her
Which taught me a lesson that I deserved
Never to judge anyone on their looks
One doesn’t foresee who’s on tenterhooks.

The young lady’s fabulous, honestly
It shows how disfiguring fear can be
Happiness is the ruby in one’s crown
Especially to a girl around town.

Premium Member -Ten Blindfolded Poets

If you seated ten blindfolded Poetry Soup poets around a table

That had only ever interacted and connected long term online

Asked the ten to chat to each other and ask questions

Though NO conversation whatsoever of the poetry or personal kind

I wonder if at end of this chat session

When the still blindfolded poets were told ten names

If they could pick any of the poets correct identities

Sounds like a fun and interesting game!

Premium Member The Almanac of Power

There's a story to be told,
That even Hollywood shared in part.
Showing entertainment by its fiction,
Could drown the mind and fill the heart.

Historically, great showmen of the day,
Would sculpt their molds with fantasy.
With enough breath of reality present,
To confuse and convince them of heresy.

Sadly, this playbook has a lengthy heritage,
As dark, cultish chapters spread throughout the land.
Where a sprinkling of legitimacy provides shelter,
While the balance follows the judicially planned.

Our most recent display of this power,
That left the majority harmless and weak,
Reinforced how wealth interacted,
Against poverty that wishes to speak.

So with steady messaging sowing a seed,
Where now great doubt was not remote.
The drumbeat of infinite freedom was heard,
As they sought a selective vote.

Through it all, the struggles continued,
From the pulpits to our highest courts.
As the powerful seek political refuge,
Behind the dollars that offer supports.

Premium Member Tell Me a Story

Tell me a story about a person's adventure
where they went and what they what they did
tell me who they interacted with and what was crazy.
Tell me what mistakes they made,
and the lessons they learned.
Tell me a story that makes me feel good,
but some stories make me really mad.
Tell me a story about an animal,
crawl inside the mind of the beast.
Let me know if the animal interacted with a human
in ways good or in ways really bad.
Was the animal in your story a hero
or just a sidekick?
Maybe you have a story about a fictional character
who floats on the clouds up above.
Or maybe the fictional character
rakes the embers of the underworld below
after all your fictional charter was the villain of the show.
But when you tell me a story of any kind
the time we are together will be quality time.

The Colour: Green

When I was born, they gave me life
When I was lost, they inspired me to thrive
The shades of green that were around me alike
Interacted with me more than anyone could even try

The greenery that surrounds us symbolic of tranquility,
Calms your mind and gives you the pleasure of great quality
Greater than what we encounter in our grey shaded lives,
full of creatures hostile and unpredictable at times.

In a cruel world where we live,
let's cherish what we have around
Because no matter WE are good friends or not
They unhesitantly serve for us a lot...

So Utilise your backyard by growing lovely plants,
Watch them often and create a soft corner in your heart,
An air of pleasure will surely surround you in a while
And then they'll never let you go without a pretty smile...

A Social Worker Who Pursued the Truth

What if he passes away at the age of forty?

The servant who was the backbone of society

Female self-esteem protector

He interacted with the people and listened to their joys and sorrows.

The populist leader

The societal servant

The owner of life for the sake of the lives of the poor

That face that was not buried until the very last day

A worshipper who is fueled by devotion

The people's prayer

Always on the path of truth
The best social worker the society has ever seen

     Connie Marcum Wong! Super strong!
We held like minded personality and interacted beyond poetry-soup arena.
I relished and honoured her every comment touching core of heart.
An emotional bond had tied us though without any scope to meet.
I love and admire her all along.

Short Connie Tributes

Contest by Andrea Dietrich

Been Through Alot

Been through lots of places,
Seen alot of smiles on faces,
Interacted with people in dances,
But no one has healed my bruises,
They only give me fake promises.

Been searching for happiness,
Tried getting rid of my sadness,
By offering people forgiveness,
And believing life is just a process,
But I don't see any signs of success.

Been putting my life into writings,
Trying every kind of mind settings,
By being in dramas and stage actings,
And after YouTube did it's reckonings,
None of them increased my earnings.

Premium Member Quiescent

You drifted into my ambience, on a light summers breeze
I'd never seen such perfection, carried with so much ease
We barely interacted, though our eyes may just have met
Quiescently touching my heart, a moment I'll never forget

Premium Member Our Spectral Guest

We called our Bed and Breakfast the Presidents’ House
A sprawling antebellum Italianate with a rich historical past
Fed our guests tasty nourishing breakfasts of presidential repast
Served by an eighteenth century-adorned raconteur, my spouse.
Our guest house was known for its spectral residents merry
Many we met, got to know, and interacted with over the years
Some got acquainted with our guests if they showed no fears
Prominent to visit from the house of the dead was Ms Jerri.
She was sassy, could be mischievous; at times playful and sweet
Until they met Jerri or her friends some were reluctant to believe
Other guests agreed what the mind believes the eyes can achieve
Once a female guest became quite ill and chose to stay in her suite
When she got over her flu and came down to breakfast one day,
She wanted to know who had visited her and massaged her feet.
She insisted this was one fine woman she wanted, in person, to meet.
We told her then, in great detail, about Jerri our shadowy spirit’s stay.

Premium Member This Modern World

I hardly recognize this
modern world
for it's changed so much
within my lifetime
I grew up
in a much different place
where people interacted
face to face
not through cutesy emojis
used in cyberspace
to express emotions on the internet
on such sites as Skype, Facebook, and Twitter
having never met
each other
in person
nor do they ever expect they ever will
for the meaning of a friend
has changed
to a numbers game
and how many likes you can collect over
other people competing
with you
on the cloud
meanwhile, the tactile feel of
a hardy handshake has all
but gone
the way of the dinosaurs
nowadays
