“The darkened sky stole my tears,”
as morning sunshine disappears.
Today's her birthday- ninety years
and rainy weather interferes.
She loves the outdoors- wild frontiers.
In early times, with pioneers,
she traveled far with two careers.
But now, those days are souvenirs.
She has two friends- each one adheres
to lifestyles spent in outdoor spheres.
And now I pray, as fun time nears,
the sun will shine as the sky clears.
The darkened sky stirred up my fears-
I now see sunlight in arrears!
The sound of voices fills my ears-
as she arrives, all clap with cheers!
They've no doctors to alleviate pain
nor nutritionists to stem weight gain
No carpenters to build them a domicile
or dealers to sell them an automobile
Neither bakers to bake them a birthday cake
nor ministers to preside over their wakes...
Forest creatures, left to their own wiles
find organic ways to overcome life’s trials
Days before Noël
We’re ready to celebrate
With all the Poets.

A lifetime grows by adding years
With sunny smiles or stormy tears-
They're nourished both by joys and fears.
For children, they approach with cheers!
As each new birthday soon appears
Each quickly stacks right up and steers
In teenage years challenging peers
With childhood days put in arrears.
How soon the years pick up their speed
Not knowing where the rest will lead.
Direction calls for plans to heed
As year by year changes the need
To reassess our lifetime creed
And make the best of every deed.
Until the last year's glory, feed
With thankfulness for each, indeed.

Word Chosen: No 2 - Years
Oh could one crawl back
into the womb, till a brighter
birthday; till the time of
a blissful After-parting –
but the wailing from our
failures would shake us
from the boughs of Heaven
down to the bowls of Hell –
Birth is a saving grace...
a duty to self and offspring...
a duty to peers, nation, and
ultimately world: there is
no paradise for any...if left
behind a hell for even one....
Gratitude brings such extraordinary peace.
From complaining, without it, there is no surcease.
Gratitude makes the worst messes unfold.
You turn all over to God, let go and be bold!
Gratitude quiets the most arrogant of hearts.
Human angels, fly into your heart and never depart.
Gratitude, for me, is greatest at dawn!
Given another day of life,to walk barefoot on God's most holy lawn!

Written on my birthday!
SUNSET FLOWER IN BARREN HEART
Charcoal cloud at demure dawn
Volatile veil on the nascent sun
Silver lined jewel a birthday gift
New day gets from storm adrift.
Gripping gloom spreads shroud within
Life crumples in dark debris of pain
Soul of ecstasy shines in divine flare
Hope glitters at the edge of despair.
On desert dust I rise from the barren dune
Dance on dream strung wind to tinkling tune
Fall with molten cloud on your barren heart
Glimmer on new flower at sunset as I depart.
March 17, 2018.
On a cold winters night
Nature’s solitude brings dawns light
Where we humans dared to go
Shrines of mercy, in the winds, do glow
Open arms to embrace the meek
The beauty you feel now
Is all god seeks
Embrace
There is nothing sweeter than the smell of a red, red, red rose
Or someone having a dear to compose
life spent wondering and gathering
thoughts of precious moments
that will last forever in the mind
A birthday is a special time
that we remember, and is sweet
as the red, red, red rose.
(May Birthstone: Emeralds)
1935
On May 2nd, I attempted
to enter the world,
feet first.
To save both Mother and baby,
the midwife's cruel hands
reached in
and flipped me over.
My lack of cries,
a clue not understood.
1942
Nighttime seizures,
memory lapses, confusion.
Pills for Epilepsy prescribed
and normal life restored.
1971
Prayer for healing, in faith,
stronger than a mustard seed . . .
Ask, and you shall receive.
Pills dumped in the waste-bin.
Suddenly, freedom came,
as soft wind which caresses
emerald fields of grain.
Matthew 17:20, Luke 17:6,
John 16:24 RSV
Ah, morning glory, such internal blush,
defy the penetration of brash sun.
Oh, linger, trumpet of dawn within the dim
or haze of mid-morning's overcaste.
Oh, fairest of the fair, your milk white core
doest blush forth, a brim of purple poise
one pinked with the cheek of infancy,
the soft and silken skin of new born day.
Ah, let your vine entwine the aged arch.
Then, let the arbor, regal, drip delight.
Your limpid leaves all faint with August’s heat,
leaves like hands ‘tween fingers now enfold.
Oh, only heaven knows more of beauty
than the morn you blessed with this glory.
Birthday: September
This night i have had
This 7th November day
It's one of my best
I have to say
The occasion was
A birthday party
My son's girlfriend
A couple so hearty
Parents of this two
In tribute proud
On a Munro i would stand
And shout it out loud
Ann Marie, Murdo
Nicola and James
Proud parents we are
Of our sweetheart flames
To watch them grow up
Into the people they are
Bright lights in our lives
Our heavenly stars
To Leanne and Andrew
As i look back on this night
This November day
This world has done right
It has brought you together
As it has requested you be
No better couple has stood
In front of me
A few words from a proud parent to the
most wonderful couple, with all my heart

Standing in the shower
Birthday suit bare
Its my singing booth
So sing without a care
The shower of song
As the water cascades
My middle aged voice
Can sometimes serenade
Depending on my thoughts
In the library of my mind
Whose the chosen artist
Let me think, and i will find
Thinking, thinking thinking
Ah, i know what i will sing
Its Amanda by Boston
This track, just amazing
The song is nearly ending
My shower almost done
I feel a million dollars
To the track that i just sang
The shower is my kingdom
For five minutes in my life
Its time to leave my kingdom
And continue with my life
dedicated to Miranda Agnes Quainoo's poem " any time i take a shower "
Heavenly Father,
this season let our minds
and hearts be fixed on you.
As we exchange gifts
may we be reminded Lord,
of the greatest gift of all,
Your son, Jesus Christ.
Born in a manger
some 2000 years ago.
But without the cross
and his resurrection,
this blessed day would have been
just another day in history.
This season,
may we not get caught up in the
commercialism of a secular world.
As families gather this season
may we have a burden
for those homes where his name
will not be mentioned
or given a passing thought.
May each of us be reminded,
that "Jesus, is the reason
for the season".
It's his birthday.
Amen
Since Your last birthday Jesus
It’s been a real hard year.
I’ve lost so many loved ones
And shed many a tear.
It hurts to be so alone,
As You Yourself do know,
Your life on earth was not easy,
But you did have a goal.
You were to teach us Jesus,
About Your Father’s ways,
To teach us that our goal,
Was our soul to save.
You did Your job at Your expense,
How selfish I must seem,
For I still have a chance to live
And reach Your golden dream.
Happy Birthday Baby Jesus,
I’ve grown up today.
I know my loved ones are better off
You’ve taken their pain away.
My gift to You Baby Jesus,
I bow my head and pray
That I will live the way you taught
And join You all, one day.
Happy Birthday Baby Jesus
