In The Meantime Poems | Examples

In the Meantime

I’m waiting. Watching you, watching me.
I wonder, what you’ll tell the jury
When they’re deciding your fate?
Will you even make it to trial?
I see you cowering in some dark corner
After the dirty thoughts have fled from your wild mind
Sucking on your fate, fetal style
Now that you’ve done the deed.
My scent still fresh on your lizard scales
Excitement gives way to terror
When you remember all of your mistakes
Of trace evidence
Pointing its bony finger, right at you!
Oh, but the ecstasy! Finality of it all!
You did it! You really did it!

In the Meantime

I've picked the scabs until they bleed,
And then wonder why they never heal
Is it just a compulsive need
For pain to be what I mostly feel?

A Masochist- Antagonist!
Perfect Punch-drunk Pragmatist!
The Hypnotist who slits his wrists-
And I shall suffer in the midst

The Agony cuts one half of me
(I'll bear the brunt of all of this...)

You inspired happy thoughts
Now the glimmer of joy
Somehow disappeared
Replaced by an absent stare

I wish I knew what was behind
That shade of grey
I wish I knew what or who stole your joy

What turned your dancing into mourning?

In the meantime,
I’ll keep you in my thoughts
In the meantime
I’ll be praying for you

For the sunshine to return
For your winter to be filled with warmth
For the shadows to become light

That you’ll find joy in life again

In the meantime I wish you hope ---

That is sometimes our most important asset

In the Meantime

In the meantime is where I stand
Where my thoughts are as plain as land
As these grains of sand, Descend from my hands
My thoughts are dispensed from recent events
Get up or give up which decision will win
They only reply, decide but to survive its supply and demand
Suicide is how you die if you die within
Genocide is the death of those who will rise again
Never to be diminished only replenished
But to our demise we are but a sacrifice to them
We pay our tides to them
But in the meantime, only time is spent
So they say right now isn’t the time for this
