The colour has no caste no religion
Just fetterless as a crowned pigeon,
The sun never marks any division
What's red, green, black or saffron.

All the colour is a single entity,
Like the author's artistic creativity;
And upon the asleep city
The moon mirrors itself - the beauty.

Underneath the vibrant sky,
As colors dance and spirits fly,
I sing a song of love to you,
My heart, forever painted true.

In the embrace of Holi's delight,
I'm captivated by your radiant light.
With every splash of color, I see,

I am almost too excited to sleep
Today Holi started
The Festival of spring, the end of winter
Celebrating the divine love of Radha Krishna
Triumph of good over evil

We will have a bonfire tonight
Where we will pray that our internal evil is destroyed
Like Holika the sister of the demon king
Who was killed in fire

Spring Hues

Hues I see at start of spring, 
Vibrant fresh blooms much joy bring;
With tints of love comes Holi, 
To smear hues at each other with glee.

How can I color you
Color you with the hatred 
Hatred that humanity holds 

How can I color you 
Color you with the sorrow
Sorrow that the world is bestowed with

How can I color you
Color you with the pollution
Pollution that our earth sinks in today

How can I color you 
Color you with the hunger and poverty 
Hunger

Holi, a hearty enthusiastic festival in horizon
Colours curdling, water washing every moron;
Out of us evil ever going and playing on
Land of character cherished by coloured lawn.
What a scene to see! Gracious glory gone
If you miss this mesmerizing festival upon
A folly. Foolish will be called such a conn.

How I wish I was there.
On that sacred festival ground.
Laughing beneath the clouds of
Indigo, saffron,white and green.

Holy pilgrims in magestic places.
Often smiles upon their faces.

Let Us Play Holi Holi

Let us play holi holi.....
With the color of saffron,
to inject stimulant 
into the vein of every Indian,
to raise voice against monopoly,
to trigger rifle against terrorists,
to fight against corruption
and to pen against 
Mudslinging, violence and sedition.
After all,
Forgetting everything....
We should focus our approach
for the integrity of our nation.....(1)

Holika, commonly called Holi is a spring festival celebrated in India and neighbouring countries, at the approach of the spring season, during the 3 or 4 days preceding the full moon day in the month of Phagan. Holi is celebrated by throwing colors and colored powder

Living downstairs from the centipede
one dreads the hours of waiting
for the “other” shoe to drop.

soft glow casting soft shadows
