She was an angel of mercy
bringing a smile to all as she passed
her manner gentle yet confident
smoothing were her hands.
She took trouble and strife in her stride
seeming to draw strength from them
her face lit up when she smiled
a true nurse of mercy.
Bringing hope and light in her wake
always ready to help patients
to go the extra mile
she walks with god and will sit beside him
get a life and stop pretending
all your drama is never ending
it's okay to be happy and to smile
try helping others and go the extra mile
simplicity is the best way to go
instead of constantly going to and fro
so, take a deep breath and then exhale
all the negativity you must expel
you can do it, I know you can
and if you fail just start over again
I had a bad day
yesterday
trying my best to put
it aside and put
my happy face on
but it seems to be gone
I'll start with a smile
and go the extra mile
to put aside dark thoughts
and do what I ought
and try to make today
a good day!
The funniest people are the most sad,
They're the ones who are coping with a smile.
The ones who don’t argue, never stay mad,
the ones who, for laughs, go the extra mile.
The funniest people need to laugh most.
They hide their depression, bury it deep,
They're the ones who laugh louder, jest, and boast.
The funny people sadness likes to keep.
Funny people end up crying alone.
In the cover of dark they let out tears.
Share life with sadness running to the bone.
Funny people are swallowed by their fears.
I find the funny people in a crowd,
And I hope they know that I'll be around.
Sometimes it's hard to be me that i am aware,
I just can't make my mind up how to have my hair.
Sometimes it's hard to be me with things inside my head,
I don't want to get dressed or even get out my bed.
I always find comfort in people I know who care,
Sometimes it's hard to be me my life so hard to bare.
Sometimes it's hard to be me when life just gets me down,
I just mange to keep on smiling and straighten up my crown.
Sometimes it's hard to be me but I have family by my side,
They show me how to love my self and to do it with lots of pride.
They teach me how to smile again show me how to shine,
It's easy to be me when you have family like mine.
Some days won't be easy but I will see them through,
when I feel down I know just what to do,
Go and see my family and they will help me through.
They will always make me laugh and help to make me smile,
making it easy to be me just for a little while.
Next time I find it hard especially to be me,
I will start to smile and set my feelings free.
My family taught me to be strong and go the extra mile,
With them i ca be myself with them i know i can smile.
pull out all the stops
keep your shoulder to the wheel
go the extra mile
bust your chops sweat blood
work your fingers to the bone
bend over backwards
go to great lengths put
your heart and soul into it
and work like a dog
go at it hammer
and tongs roll up your sleeves do
the heavy lifting
put your nose to the
grindstone put in the hours
break your back
the going gets tough
no pain no gain sink or swim
burn the midnight oil
soldier on stick to
your guns bite the bullet come
hell or high water
go the extra mile
the going gets tough stand your
ground dig in your heels
up and at ’em where
there’s a will, there’s a way on
the ball hang in there
Life is like a treasure;
Feel it with pleasure,
Let the bygones be bygones.
Whatever you want to accomplish,
Go the extra mile, just hang in there.
When opportunity knocks,
Don't be in two minds—give it a twirl,
Without the fear of facing the results.
When someone criticizes you,
Don't be up in arms with them.
Instead, step up your game,
And prove yourself.
Sometimes, you may feel left out in the cold,
Without any reason,
And it all seems Greek to you.
But when you're a cut above the rest,
These situations are a dime a dozen—
Take it as easy as pie.
When success isn't yours, bite the bullet,
Hold your horses, clear the air,
Come hell or high water,
Beyond a shadow of a doubt,
You will taste it!
I don’t know about anyone else, but without Jesus in my life…I would have no reason to...Press-on! Amen
Without You... I would cease to be
I would know no peace...no tranquility
From the valleys I alone could not alight...
there would be no meaning in my life
My mountains I would not even dare
a search for faith within...would find me bare
My hurts would not be nurtured without Your healing smile...
I would have no strength to press on and go the extra mile
And sleep? I could not sleep a sleep of needed rest
then awake to find myself renewed…refreshed
There’d be no guidance as I journeyed along the way…
and who would I turn to…or cry out to…when I pray?
Without You…my world would appear bleak
my spirit…downtrodden…so weak
There would be no hope for my tomorrows…
no dreams of adieu to all earthly sorrows
I’d find no sunshine…after the rain
there would be no joy…through the pain
No balm…no calm…no pleasure in the psalms…Ah!
What would be the use…??!?!!
if I had to live even a moment, Dear Jesus...
Without …You?

Success doesn't happen overnight it comes from hard work and determination to go the extra mile
"Jay's Graduation Day"
(by Michelle L. LeBlanc 06/17/2024)
This week you would have graduated
Just before you turned 18
Oh, how the time has flown
Since you suddenly left the scene
All tho you didn't graduate High School
You did graduate from this Life
You transitioned with flying colors
Your painting truly mesmerized
You learned many lessons
You tried so very hard
You found a way to rise above
And to reach up for the stars
Life wasn't always easy
But you learned to keep your smile
You'd reach out a hand of kindness
And often go the extra mile
You had a such a heart of gold
And a smile that brightened your eyes
Your friends all loved you so much
Some of them still can't help, but cry
And even though your graduation
Would have been Wednesday June 19th
I know you're still behind the scenes
Celebrating with a wink
You certainly left your imprint
Your marks engraved on our hearts
You graduated with the highest honor
Your love imprinted on our hearts!
To all the Garbage Throwers
Who see this as a game
I just wanted to let you know
I thank you just the same
Right after I clean up your garbage
I see you put it all right back there
Even if I put it under a rock to bag later
You take it out and throw it everywhere
Yes! I see we are playing a game
Oh I love games, that's true
So I just wanted to thank you
For the game I play with you
I will learn to smile each day
As I pick it all back up
Even though you continue
To throw around your McDonald's cups
May you learn to shine beautiful
May you find a reason to smile
If this helps give it to you
Then I'll go the extra mile!
For perhaps I need to learn patience
Perhaps you need to learn respect
Perhaps I need to learn see the bright side
And perhaps you need a little regret
But whatever path we are on
Whatever lesson we have to learn
We can turn it all into a game for now
Question is... who should get the last turn?
Kindergarten students in Miss G’s class rushed right in
Clapping, smiling, stamping, tromping, stomping, laugh’n.
They loved that she had transformed their door into a gingerbread house.
One of them began chanting “not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse”.
Kindergarten students love it when you go the extra mile.
Their enthusiasm that day made Miss G clap and smile.
Two more weeks until winter break, she announced to them.
“Can’t we move in here with you?” asked a little guy named Jim.
Everyone has them - some people go the extra mile and write about them to see if anyone shares them
What a beautiful feeling to have bloomed
A feeling that took over and consumed
However fleeting it may be
It took up all the space in me
You came to me when I was mostly bare
We started a love that could not compare
It didn't matter what our demons said
We forged our path and moved ahead
Then the day came where I sealed our fate
There would forever be a part of you that harbored hate
And yet you said you wanted us to try
This news lit my world, I was sky high
I didn't stop to think of the true damage that occurred
I was so happy that all the past was blurred
I was naive and didn't look at the facts
I didn't think about how the positive and negative attracts
Now here we are at a juncture
One that the slightest little poke could puncture
But I'm not ready to let this love go
So I'm going to say it now so you know
I love you more than yesterday
And I'm going to love you more everyday
You are what makes life feel worthwhile
And for this I'd always go the extra mile
So tell me that you want this too
And I'll show you just how much I love you
Because you are the moon and the stars
And this love is meant to make ours
