Silence trembles - With the light of morning,
Dawn’s caress stirs, then calms
With intimate whispers
Impressions delightful, like a smile
Inviting heartfelt excitement
Silence echoes - Past the hand of darkness
Reflecting the kindness
Binding up wounds of doubt
Amazed and inspiring, creating
Laughter and joy – dazzling
Hues so vibrant, arising
From the flow of a smile abiding
Inside the spirit who knows
His loves sends assurance and hope
Silence embraces - Flames of passion, adoration
Fiery blaze of wishes
Imaginary kisses, blessings
Who promise the wind to erase
Every gray cloud, early fog
Easy shadows who sometimes fade
Into the mystery of daybreak
And the sound of a memory, a tale
Breathed beneath the rainstorm
Who tells of seclusion and secrets
Stitching wounds who tell of pasts
Who live in the heart of grace
Silence rises – in those who know
It is love – who comforts the soul

There once was a gadfly daring.
His speech, it was laced with swearing
He said too much
which earned a punch
from the blonde whom he’d been staring.

Hate and intolerance, wicked evils of the world.
Prejudices, biases, and bigotry
ran high and rampant -
in times of unrest and hardship.
Why are some so thoughtless?
I realize that hate is not something
that is natural to us.
From the early beginning of life,
that spontaneously sprung into existence.
Like a blade of grass appearing unbeknownst
in a silent crack on the sidewalk.
Back then, we were still -
uncontaminated by the evils -
as we grew older, in some,
they took roots and planted the seeds
of ignorant stereotypes.
Put in place and cultivated,
by the very society we live in.
With the numberless amounts of fertilizers
that society fed to them,
they began inciting hate and prejudices.
In the end, all those efforts resulted in violence.
Purposely released upon those
of difference, be it of
race, religion, or sexual orientation,
that can't bend to its will,
in its own disillusioned image.
Hate, intolerance, prejudice, bias, and bigotry -
from forth its heart
it unleashed onto the world -
fear, unrest, violence,
and ultimately, destruction.

Here I am again in my reoccurring role
I say those familiar lines in my head
I walk upon the dusty stage
I look out through the bright lights
The audience is always missing
I play my character with passion and conviction
I cry and writhe in my pain
After my performance there is silence
No accolades
No critical acclaim
Just a fool playing the fool
On this ridiculous glaring stage

Put purring sounds around me, yes, I'm the apple of your eye.
Your furry form is always warm, your purr is a lull-a-bye
Arms and legs entwine us, so strong, Mime and brother Sy
around a dreamy place we lay and picture summertime.
Me and Mama [Molly] cuddle with our wee Tom cat
like balls we bounce and then pounce 'till Mama tells us scat!
The glaring's* full of mischief rivalry and combat,
Circle round see what we've found, it flies, why it's a gnat!
Round we go till dinner time, then back we go like that
The bosom warm, the cuddly form of our sweet Molly cat
Sun up, sun down, this is the life of Sy and Mime cat-lets.
*group of cats is referred to as a "clowder" or a "glaring",a male cat is called a "tom"
a female is called a "molly"...I named the girl Kitten Mime ;)

I wake up from my sleep, and still it is dark
I looked around, but its silence that only bark
The world seems to stop, being somewhere lost
I pinched me hard, to end the nightmare
But the wound prevailed in my skin so bare.
I walked out and saw the stars fading
I found moon, behind the clouds, hiding
I waited waited, but there seem no end
Of the stillness, for the movement ahead.
The time is too busy to bring any transition
The height, it seems, has lost its culmination
The road, perhaps, is looking for the destiny
The future might be, searching for some testimony.
I here, stand all by my own
No one to be seen, nowhere to go
Hoping for the world to move ahead
Praying to the present to be once more glad;
To erase the dark, and move into a new light
To retrieve itself, and let the birds sing happily
But my prayers remain unanswered
Everything everywhere seems cadaverous.
Everything is quenched, save one thing
The hope that glows in my heart so deep.

Your cutting glare bores
Into me like a pin in
A voodoo doll. Prick.

there used to be a beachfront cottage
out there near an old yacht's wreckage,
absence glaring
