Premium MemberYou Get In the Way of My Words

You get in the way of my words,
blind save the things you colored;
Dirty inflamed wanton thoughts,
I swear though a raging fever;

Blind save the things you colored,
black and white except for you;
I swear through a raging fever,
your breath has bitten my tongue:

Black and white except for you,
dirty inflamed wanton thoughts;
Your breath has bitten my tongue,
you get in the way of my words .

Premium MemberDemanding To Get In

Dead people are shouting at the gates, demanding to get in.
I look at the head devil; he has green curly hair on his chin.
Why they want in here is anyone’s guess, he says to me.
It’s not like we’re party animals; there is no kind of glee.

Let us in! One of the loudest ones demands in a hoar se voice.
I found pout later he is a spoiled only child name of Royce.
The head devil rolls his eyes and twists his finger around his ear.
Even I understand this signal; it is well-known, very clear.

They must be crazy to want inside these decorated gates of gym.
I guess they do not realize the things that are ready for them.
Come on! Another yells eagerly, taking up the sounding bell.
Do they not understand they have arrived at the gates of hell?

Premium MemberGet In the Back Seat

The bear tried to explain what he was doing in town
But the officer was scared, so he turned him around
Slapped on the cuffs and told him to get into the backseat.
The bear snapped those cuffs, and ran from the heat.

I watched the whole thing. Filmed it with my I-phone.
Said I cannot wait to upload this when I get home.
The officers are chasing the bear up and down the streets.
I love the fact the bear is wearing football cleats.

He is stomping through gardens and meadows now.
Our one TV cameraman is chasing him. His name is How.
I am laughing my guts out at the chase that I see.
It is so much better than other channels on this stupid TV.

So the Lies Can'T Get In

Pull pieces of my love
Through the shattered cracks
of my heart
Put them away
in a coffin
secured with locks
and chains.
Find all the pieces.
then maybe,
I can no longer be hurt.
Take all my expectations
and shred them
let the pieces fall
to the ground.
Take all my disappointment
pour it on the coffin,
suffocate the love within.
Take all those hopes
and those dreams
Take what I thought love should be
Light it all on fire.
until only ashes remain.
Take the respect and fascination I had
drown them in my tears
cry until the ashes are washed clear
until what I felt disintegrates
Into nothing.
Take all I was made to feel
in the past,
Loved.
Cherished.
Respected.
Wanted.
Included.
Important.
Stomp those feelings into the mud
Used the crushed feelings mixed with dirt
to patch the cracks in my heart
So the lies can't get in,
anymore.

Dying To Get In

Dying To Get In

Cemeteries popular places have been;
Everyone seems to be dying to get in;
Without fail;
Left a trail;
Regardless of being women or men.

Jim Horn

What I wrote if it were me;
Be sure to turn off your TV;
Twist and shout,
And throw it out;
Startling damage to society.

But the Pictures Get In the Way

Reading a poem feeds the mind,
Touches the heart with what it says,
Wisdom, delight,  there I find
But the pictures get in the way.

Vivid lines paint good images,
They take me places any day.
Poems are lovely, way down the page-
But the pictures get in the way.

Good poems can stand well on their own
With one or two pictures, okay.
Too much may make its merit drown
'Cause the pictures get in the way.

--------------
A kyrielle is made of quatrains that rhyme. Each stanza (that is a quatrain) has a line that repeats, so a line from a previous stanza. That line usually (but does not necessarily have to) be the last line in the stanza.
Each line in the poem has eight syllables. There is no limit to the number of stanzas. Usually there are three or more stanzas.
Any type of rhyme scheme can be used.

Tears Get In the Way

I wish so many things I could go back and change
It's so hard to live with the mistakes that I made
I spend so much time wishing I would of done this or that
How do you move on when it hurts so much looking back

The time we spend together I want you to see me happy
a smile on my face but so many times my tears get in the way
Your the most important person to me in my life
your my world because of you I'm thankful that I'm alive
because of you I wont give up and I keep on trying

Free Cee Please Do Not Get In That Star

PLEASE DON'T GET IN THAT STAR

Every day I look at the first morning star
and how I begged you not to board that car
he was too drunk and could hardly see the view
and that's robbed me of you

too many drugs and a drink or two
so just before the break of blue
I gaze above to see that star that haunts me so
and hate the night that you had to go

“don't go” I pleaded with you to stay
but for some reason you had to speed away
and so I prayed that eve of sorrow
that you would still be here tomorrow

but my prayer went for naught and unheard
the universe ignored my every word
and so you climbed into that car
and now I weep whenever I see that early morning star
