Game on

I really thought you had my best interest at heart.
Now I see, you were just playing the part.
Never thought all you saw
was a game to try and beat.
Never actually attempting
to get to know me.
All you needed to know
was that I aim to please.
And that I've searched my entire life
to find a love I could keep.
Convinced you were so true,
I didn't catch that high horse seat.
Because you were kneeling down on it
so i could almost reach
Swore it was prayers you wanted to teach.
But you just wanted to get me down on my knees.
Said you loved watching me while I sleep
Because it was the only time i looked at peace-
but it was more so just to be a creep
I wasn't able to cry or scream
From the violence in my dreams
Flashbacks of what was done to me
in my traumatic past,
said you kinda wondered-
But not enough to ask

Place your bets, you’re just in time
for the game, the fix is in.

What a thrill. Is it a crime to cash in?
The winners do, and that could be you.

You’ll be a witness, as wise guys smoothly step in
- it’s basic greed - and never a sin, as long as they win.

Mr slick ricky, you’ve got to be bold to win gold -
winners never just fold - betting never gets old.

The winners will add your few spare bucks to their pot -
let’s admit, all that you’ve got - isn’t a lot - it won’t fuel a yacht.

Place your bets, you’re in the front row all the time,
don’t be lame, be part of the game, the greasy bigtime.

NOTE: I LOVE NFL football, but now every commercial is for some sports book like “Draft Kings.” How can the NFL, increasingly in league with gambling books, not end up mobbed-up and fixed?
It’s ruining NFL football - the illusion that it’s a real sporting competition. I’ll tell you, Once they start calling the NFL “entertainment” and not sports - it’s over - the game I once loved will be just like pro wrestling.

near and dear ones
have expectations
hoping that we align
with their life goals
in the world external
but we live internally
so cannot resonate
yet we push and pull
in a game of pretence
although we do know
nothing need be done
having been impulsed
in the ethereal domain
being now played out
in dreams felt as real

it is of course absurdity
which serves a purpose
as love tenderly touches
God's life force within all
in a slow dance intimate
of separation and union
concealing and revealing
light that is omnipresent
impossible made possible
by the veil of forgetting
which has now worn thin
but no matter we play on
as an actor does on stage

they met in the middle
one light the other dark
no one knew which was which
others stood back, fearful

It was a meeting spoken of for ages
orchestrated by the gods
encouraged by ancestral spirit guides
lightning flashed

other animals ducked and took cover
fleeing for their lives
I stood to watch the battle
not sure for whom to cheer

they brought their end game
both fought in the style of their kin
dragon and wolf
we are still speaking of it twenty-two years later

the sky blended into a gorgeous purple
swirling from red and blue

The next challenge is set..
hhmmmphh game on
Enter contests he says.

But they're boring by the third attempt at rhyme
And my mind cannot keep time.
Nor does it read all the bits you must master
and err is prevalent if you review my disaster

Summer is not my flavour
as autumn I am predisposed...
but to choose one of plenty
I cannot be told.

No! He says, that is not the task.
Choosing one is too easy
For the mind that you grasp
Enter all .. ALL!

Holy crap are you mad!

Its the challenge I've set
Now begone.

What a ratbag!

Irked, quite assuredly
I lay there and pondered
Is he truly serious I wondered?

As i fought with myself on anothers ideas
I perused all the lists rather than smack his ears.

And binary became the attraction so clear
that i dragged my sorry butt out of bed
and now i am here.

The game was on, the ball preparing itself;
Meditation would help it to handle the force
Of the bat when it smacked.

Ball loved to fly, fast and furious, so a few bruises and minor pain, meant nothing to him.

Ball steeled himself as the pitch was thrown; what would the old bat do?

Ball flew as fast as he could…crack!
Bat hit his mark and ball sped on even faster
till he landed with a thud in a cushy leather bed but,
he wasn’t through yet.
Once again he was thrown;
time for revenge, he flew angrily on and
landed with an almost sickening thud.

Whompf!  The crowd roared as he hit his target;
basking in the glory of cheers and applause.
He could hardly wait to fly again.

Rap Game On

She knew this
 was going to happen
Mr psychopath is rapping
With his crazy beats in timing
Singing: She's so freaky
You must believe me
I'll spread my message
They better get it
Tearing apart logic
His tempo is lethargic
Smearing the writing
of her time in shining
But those who know her best
Laugh at him in jest
They know her worth
No need for a test
When asked if she's crazy
They evade the question
Thinking to themselves
We are above this business
of railroading the gifted
So take your props and stage
and...perform elsewhere
in the singing of your rage

New Years @ Time Square,,,Answer To Robert Dufresnes, Game On!

The Ball drops,
sparkling lights
Clock strikes twelve,
lips pressed together
Dick Clark is rockin,
Confetti's flying
party's over,
Clean up crew
Lights out

Game On! Vignette?

Screaming whistle
. Start!
Puck drops.
Clattering sticks,
splintering on ice
Crowd roars
Skates scrape,
Sweat stinks
Ice sprays,
Blood splatters,
Player down!
Ear splitting whistle
. Stop!
