Holiday recipes created by others
Christmas dishes decorated in festive colors
Laden with sugar and salt sweet and sour
Where is my long-gone missing will power?

Any dieting I did before I left at the moors
When families meet, my appetite soars
Fattening foods and decorated tables outdo each other
An amusement for a professional cook, my grandmother

Sea weeds, sea shells

Yummy seafoods.

KIDNEY FAILURE

God made man perfect
And planted
Two bean-like objects
Inside his abdomen
And warned mankind
Not to eat the forbidden fruits
But mankind failed to listen
And took
 too much Salt
And took
Too much Soda
And took
Too much proteins
And took
Too much carbohydrates
And took
Too much fatty foods
And took
Far too much spirits
That landed mankind
With Renal failures

Premium Member she only eats hole foods

daughter's college room mate said I hope this is not rude.
But I never eat anything except for hole food.
I assured her it was no problem if that is all she ate.
I made a grocery list immediately,, and it was rather great

donuts in strawberry, chocolate too
They had the best holes, through and through.

Onion rings naturally, with extra salt.
I decided also to add a caramel chocolate malt
I know it does not have a hole, but the straw does right?
I planned the best hole foods all day and night.

She did not say the holes had to be round.
So I bought the perkiest pretzels that could be found.
I added a bundt cake and angel food cake too.
I was excited to meet this hole-eating food guru

Oh Dear Lord

I see you as you are  here , oh! Lord
I need to be with you , dear Jehovah God!
                       Today ,tomorrow and forever !
                         Forever , forever and forever!

                            You are my happiness,
                                You are my Joyce,
                                You are my peace ,
You are my daily juice ,
                             You are my spicy foods,
                             You are the wise words.

I can say loud, loudly " I love you!"
Love you , love you , love you !
You are the only soap to wipe my heart!
My heart, my heart , my heart , my heart!.

When Foods Were Not Called Super

When foods were not called super,
Many more had them for their supper.

When foods were not called super,
Prices were cheaper.

When foods were not called super,
Nutrition fared the better.

When foods were not called super,
Substitutes were fewer.

When foods were not called super,
Food fights in court were rarer.

When foods were not called super,
What was on the label did not tell us a whopper.

When foods were not called super,
It was a better time to be a shopper.

When foods were not called super,
I could afford to invite you to supper.

Premium Member Cat Previews Thanksgiving Foods

I decided to get a preview of the Thanksgiving leftovers.
Anticipating the humans suffering from day-after-hangovers.

Lucky for me, someone left the frig open a crack.
I slid in there and laid down under the largest full rack.

I started on the pie, it was super delicious of course.
Save some for me yelled a voice; it sounded like a miniature Norse.

stuffing smells delicious, if there is one spice I love it is sage.
I could pig out here forever. I’ve been here an hour, I’d gauge.

The door opened slowly, and I tumbled onto the floor.
The cook in the kitchen was so angry, I got kicked out the door.

I did not care, because in each of my fists was a drumstick so round.
My fat bottom saved me as I landed squarely on November’s ground.

I’ll be back next year! I yelled to my neighbor Mrs. McFur.
She was on the phone to my mother, complaining, I am sure.

Premium Member Certain Foods Bring Memories

Kraft Macaroni and Cheese and Chef Boy-Ar-Dee boxed pizza
If I had a dollar for every time I ate these two as a child
I could probably buy a desk, a computer, and a lava lamp

If it was not quite enough for all three, maybe I could buy a lava lamp
And beads to fit in my doorway, I do love that seventies look!
And a fake fur chair that yells my name in pink and orange

I would buy hip hugger bell bottoms if there is any extra money.
It is funny how certain foods take you right back to your childhood.
My husband and I cannot even look at a chicken pot pie.

When we were first married, we ate two chicken pot pies
And two frozen macaroni and cheese and half loaf of bread each
For the first two or three years, until our daughter could cook.

Premium Member Our Family Christmas Foods

We have beef and noodles over mashed potatoes for Christmas.
There are many vegetables, the dieting adults pick at a few of them.
Rest of us gnaw on a variety of fudges, mints, and peanut brittle.
Frosted sugar cookies are a hit too at many of our Christmas tables.

When I was a child, we always had two or three pots of stew or soup.
Oyster stew for the adults, potato soup, and chili. Lots of crackers too.
Because there were so many of us, and soup spread around so fast.
Fruit cakes are usually included, but the last thing eaten.

We throw away almost no food after the family gathers.
Leftovers are collected, taken to those who cannot walk so well now.
Great grandma and great grandma, who are waiting for a quick visit.
A bunch of food at their house too, for they have eighteen children.

Great grandma’s table has turkey, chicken, beef, and salmon.
Salmon is unusual in the Midwest at Christmas time.
Everyone scoots things around to make room for the leftovers.
