Premium Member 8 minutes 20 seconds

On average it takes 8 minutes 20 seconds for light to travel between the sun and the earth.

At that very moment they look up into the sky
8 minutes and 20 seconds ago the journey had begun
The ray plays out its tale for all of them

Eyes stung by beads of sweat
The farmer squints into a cloudless sky
He smiles as once more he gazes on rows of sprouting new life

Oakley may dim her vision but she stirs
Beneath her towel sand has moulded to her sun-drenched form
Her fashionable hue is almost complete

He stumbles but struggles once more to his feet
How long has this desert ordeal endured?
The end beckons as searing heat prepares the feast

Shivering through winter in thin clothes and with an empty belly
Shafts of sunlight are rays of hope
A false dawn or a new beginning?

The newborn baby cries for attention
Her rosy skin has yellowed
But soon the status quo will be restored

Five lives touched at the same time
But not in the same way
8 minutes and 20 seconds ago it started again

Relinquishing the Known

Once understanding truth, is when fiction becomes paramount.
If not for fiction, truth would never expand, rather stay static.
Without fiction, invention would not become possible, just a cosmetic.
Without fiction, creativity would become impractical, in turn ceasing much doubt
Without fiction, where's contradiction? Relying on fact alone creates a closed mind,
Unwilling to learn or listen to opinion or interpretation, with a mind stuck behind.
Letting go of what is already known imbeds a sense of venture, a willingness to interpret.
If not for this sense of venture, opinion becomes subvert.
Learn from past followings of mass consensus,
Think for yourself, form your own opinions, free from collectivization.
Only once you have your original thought, begin intertwining with truth, make it pragmatic.
In order to grow, you first must relinquish that which is known.

Premium Member Wee Man

there was a young Irish lad named Jack
who bragged about his size in the sack
he met Sarah one day
for a roll in the hay
she said you’re a wee man and that’s a fact

NONSENSE

It is nonsense,
Because it does not make sense.
Not because there is no sense,
But because you are unversed
And cannot make sense of it.
Because it is esnesnon,
It is nonsense,
And above your intuition.
It does not make sense.

It is nonsense,
Because it lacks sense
And has no substance;
Conceived from a debased instinct,
Of a delirious, senile and manic concept,
From a senseless conception.
This is nonsense!

And you lack a sense of the concept,
Because you do not have enough sense
To comprehend the senselessness of the nonsense.
This piece is nonsense,
Because it does not make sense—
Because subsidy is gone,
And it does not make sense.

Premium Member The Fallen And Forgotten

The Fallen and Forgotten/
Used to be infamous/
Soldiers of the streets/
No matter how you going out with a bang/
You will be forgotten/
Your name to be added/
To the list of the fallen/
There's no going back/
Everyone gave you respect/
On the streets/
If not, a dose of reality will check you/
It's fine to be wanted/
And a big shot/
But, I will tell you/
You are just setting yourself up/
For a big empty space in prison/
Surrounded by concrete and razor wire/
The infamous will be fallen and forgotten/
Which will leave you lonely/
Locked away in a lonely state/
Wishing just for once/
Someone would remember you/
All the things you have done/
To make a name for yourself/
Hanging with so called friends/
That are not true friends/
In the end, none of that matters/
Because, you are just another/
One of the Fallen and Forgotten/

Who said meow, could be a cat, but what if not?
Was it a stray cat, or a cat from upper floor?
But one could imitate the sound that we’ve heard
And by the way, it could’ve been a creaking door
Let’s sort out the facts we have at hand
If they are real, not someone’s manipulation
That meow could be a bait a spy might sent
A code to hack our files, pinpoint location
As for the subsequent research we took
We’re glad to say, the fact has been established
We noted this meow in our factual book
Never before that meowing cat was published.

Premium Member Post Truth

I know someone to whom I am a fact
But I can be generalized to an opinion
Which disappears fast if they distract
And so I hibernate until they turn me on
United with my opposite, I laugh
In someone’s argument I do the demon dance
One time I’m crazy, then I’m soft enough
If one can pick me in a better mood by chance
Next time I’m just a goldfish in your bowl
Generalize me more in your opinion
Distinguish me from others of the shoal
Before I slip away into oblivion
But as a fact of life, I’m not so pliant
And I permit no one to use my mind
For what they call a truth I’m quite defiant
I have my own, and yours is out of my line.

Most trying events
leave you bitter or better.
But the choice is yours.

The Uncanny Fact

The more you envy,
The better will I become,
It sounds strange although.

When Will Florida Address The Fact That Some Prisoners Never Received Fair Trials

In courts where lies weave their tails,
And justice seems a distant dream,
There lies the fate of souls confined,
By trials flawed and justice blind.

Florida, hear their muted cries,
Beneath the endless, azure skies,
Restore the truth, make wrongs undone,
Illuminate their moonless sun.

A second glance, a careful eye,
To see what justice might belie,
Review each case with earnest heart,
For fairness is a noble art.

For those who've suffered unjust pain,
Let fairness fall like cleansing rain,
And from these cells, set free the right,
To walk in liberty's pure blinding light.

Not over the fact that I am already over you

Yeah I did not congratulate on your birthday and forgot how old you got,
Yeah I did not made comments on the jacket you wore I always found beatifully,
Yeah I did not anymore admire your eyes and call them sun over ocean,
Yeah I did not hype you up,
Yeah I did not help you anymore out.

But I did once.
Because I cared of what you think.
Now I care of how I seem.

Even though I know I am trying to protect myself,
while ignoring and distancing myself from you is hurting me much more too.

From the look of your eyes, I see scare.
You don't know how to ecounter me anymore.
So you always ask your friends.

You try to seem chill, by saying: ,,Give the sheet paper to her, she has a beautiful handwriting" , even though you know I won't answer you anymore.

When I got the sheet of paper, you would wait, even ages till I let my pencil slide and you wait for better 1 minute to add and still say: ,,thank you"

I am sorry I am acting this way,
but I don't know what to say.
Since this day,
were I tried,
and you shut our conversation down that easily.
Were I couldn't even tell you ,,no", or see you suffer.
