my bucket list expired
I care not
nothing in it interests me
I have poetry, cartooning, dog-raising and painting
they are my go-tos now
I do not want to travel
I can see everyplace on the Discovery channel
I am more than satisfied
easily giving up river rafting
with my bad knee and worse ankles
jumping out of airplanes was never on my list
my bucket list has expired
I care not

A City Bus or Train

Ride a city bus or train
And you will get a sense
Of humankind of every strain -
Behold the evidence:

The old, the young, the thin, the fat,
The handicapped, the frail,
The homeless, jock or spoiled brat,
The baby set to wail.

The strollers hogging too much space,
The walkers inching past,
The bodies crushed up everyplace
Until your stop - at last!

You exit, glad to be outside
And grateful you can walk,
But that's the price you pay to ride
On transit in New Yawk.

Premium MemberI Do Not Know My Flowers

I do not know my flowers
they were not taught in school
I still know my “goesintas”
and the “I” before “E” rule.

I kinda liked the dandelions
that grew behind third base
but they were nothing fancy
and grew wild everyplace.

I gave a girl some daisy’s
a young lovers thing to do
and we have stayed together
years counting forty-two.

I still don’t know my flowers
but I’ve learned a bit since then
it isn’t where or why you give “em
the important thing is when.

Every Thing

It’s ok not to tell everyone, everything.
      Your achievements every day,
      everyplace you’ve ever been,
      everyone who’s come your way.
Not everybody needs to know your day.

She

She is beautiful like the rain,
Which can relieve all your pain.

She is amazing like the stars,
Who can remove all your darks.

She is wonderful like the light,
Who can remove your bad colors light.

Do you know who is she?

She is a girl, a daughter, a woman, a mother and a wife
Who gave you life
One that you can find everywhere at everyplace,
But to whom
No one can replace.

Then why don't we respect she?
For every mistake, why is always she?
And why not we?

Premium MemberChristmas Is For Children

Christmas is for children, a time of wonders and wishes
Christmas is for children, once a year treats delicious
Decorations of sparkling reds and greens
overflow everyplace in delightful extremes
Wanting gifts from jolly old Saint Nick
hoping naughty times he can forgive and forget
Desring snow and wanting frosty cold
the merriment of the season to be told and retold
Christmas is for children, happy carols to sing
Christmas is for children, let joyful hearts ring
Presents and gifts, puppies and kittens
Stockings hung and fuzzy warm mittens
Eggnog and candy canes, cookies and smiles
Atonement and forgiveness, our family and pals
Christmas is for children, children still young and even those old
For the Love of Christmas our Savior as a child bestowed

Your Memory

Your memory paid a visit to the darkest corner of my mind today
I tried not to notice it but old feelings kept getting in my way
These people in this place I'm at keep telling me that I shouldn't care
But everyplace I go to hide you're memory always somehow finds me there

I still see your face, everytime I close my eyes
I can't seem to forget you, no matter what I try
Everytime that I hide, you come and find me
There's not a thing that I can do that helps me shake your memory

Last night I used a bottle trying to drown your memory from my mind
But when my glass was empty you showed up at the bottom every time
The more I drank the farther I thought that it would push those thoughts from me
But no matter what I do I just can't seem to shake your memory

I still see your face, everytime I close my eyes
I can't seem to forget you, no matter what I try
Everytime that I hide, you come and find me
There's not a thing that I can do that helps me shake your memory

Witness To Destruction

If the world was ripping apart at the seams;
and the sky fell off it’s high seated pedestal
and everyplace sparked from faulty wiring and lit up in fiery glitter
and the oceans raised a fist and left every corner drenched in salty sweet necessity
and the trees uprooted, hiked up their skirts and ran away
and the animals crafted their own transportation device to float back to their birthplace
and the winds, out of boredom, spiraled out of control
Would we notice?
Would we raise our head five inches upwards witness the beginning of the end?
Could we notice?
Could we peel our eyes away from the personal news device gripped to death in sweaty palms?
Should we notice?
Should we bother to even take action in the face of catastrophe?
Good thing the world is not ripping apart at the seams
Or else who knows what we would do.

Gnats

A morning walk, a muggy day,
A little warm for not-yet-May;
The country air both fresh and still -
A pleasant outing, right? Until...

The gnats attacked, around my face
And soon they weaseled everyplace -
Into my ears, beneath my hat,
Along my scalp - I squashed some flat...

But every squished one brought ten more,
Which kept arriving by the score.
I waved my hands, I fanned my cap
Yet nothing worked except a slap.

Some pests are worse for these don't bite
Or sting or keep you up at night
But barring that, I'll bet that stats
Would prove that gnats can drive you bats!

Premium MemberA Land of Mythical Creatures

Once upon a time in an alluring place
Flourishing realm sweet with seasons showers pace
The earth food for life the lush greenness embrace
Array of flowering plants that twirl and lace
Birds twittered on leafy branches full of grace
Rare butterflies with wide, vibrant wings took chase
Bobbing on the breezeless air they dare through space
Charmed fairies if you gaze close into their face
They sniffed the air scared to be spotted they’ll race
Satyrs played pan flutes others danced everyplace
While others sang a phrase carrying a mace
“Steady my heart; scented blooms cannot unlace
The beauty of your face I cannot erase”
Dare venture down a well-trod maze; rocks retrace
Your way back dazed so be prepared just in case

Premium MemberThe Fault Limit

The Fault Limit

There’s a hair line crack in the human chain,
causing some to reap, while others pain.
Widening a fraction broader every day,
it strains till all forms of kindness give way .

A fault line deep in the earthly heart,
is the dark divide that keeps us far apart.
A hand's against a hand in everyplace,
with mass genocide of someone's race.

Where does the source of this fault really lie?
Is it in ourselves? Is it in the skies?
Sooner or later the mind will quake,
as the crack is stressed by the lava, hate.

The Clean Air of Autumn

A crisp morning, I wake fully revived
Summer is gone as I look out the door
Leaves begin to fall, it’s finally arrived
Now we can open the windows once more.

Pansies are planted, their faces upturned
Squirrels gather nuts for the winter to come
Enjoying the patio has now returned
Sitting outside with a hot buttered rum.

Decorating with pumpkins ‘round the yard
With fall colored mums arranged in a vase
To find beauty in autumn, its’ not hard
For Her magic touch is found everyplace.

A breathe of fresh air to end summer’s heat
The clean air of autumn cannot be beat.

The Spread of Queen Anne's Lace

A weed that’s known as Queen Anne’s Lace
Is here and there and everyplace –
Along the highway, in the fields,
Deaf to every sneeze it yields.

Tall and straggly, it’s beguiled
Flies and bugs where it grows wild,
Lured not by its scent outstanding
But its flat top, great for landing.

Humans, though, don’t like it much
For like dandelions and such,
Its profusion proves, indeed,
That it’s just a lowly weed.

Oft, I rush to weeds’ defense;
This time, though, I’m on the fence
For swaths of land might lose the race
Against the spread of Queen Anne’s lace.

My Heart Will Burn You Won'T Return

There's so many times in life
I feel days cut like a knife
Stabbing me right in the heart
As badness won't ever part
When the minutes drag with pain
And hours are being slain
With the sharpness pushing in
When more horror days begin
There's no escape I just deal
With the sorrow that I feel
As emotions in my gut
Pour out more with each new cut
That I receive every time
Your memory is on my mind
Pictures start to come up first
And bad times begin to burst
As my brain will see your face
Everywhere and everyplace
I'm trying to let them go
But the process is very slow
Of forgetting what you have done
Taking off and on the run
With a new love you desired
Saying you were bored and tired
From years we have spent together
So you cut away and sever
All my love that was attached
Now someone else grabbed and snatched
You away with no return
As my hearts starting to burn
With each fiery new stab
From love I no longer have
