Stalked all their life
Stained by a crime not committed
A permanent mark on black skin
A reminder how we will never fit in
Labelled as criminals
Despite being exonerated
Probation was for those in need of reformation
Not those who already good behaviour
But any chance to stereotype
The oppressors will take their chance
To keep the invisible chains of oppression are locked in and secured
A way to surveil those who now walk in the light
Constant checkups, now a normal routine
Having to ensure their record is squeaky clean
Being suffocated by the fear
Of breathing wrong
They'll do anything to keep us behind bars
Freedom they promised, yet freedom we haven't received
Being watched doesn't equate to being free
Especially when we still hang from the trees of your critique
You can't claim slavery ended when we are still slaves to your constant surveillance
Not when incarceration is used as a way to keep us hidden
Not when we live a life of normalcy
Yet are still followed
By the law that claims to help
Yet shoots us as soon as we open our mouth
You can't claim it ended when we live under the power
Of the white man

Whilst algebra for many is so poorly understood
At school I put the effort in and I became quite good
Three apples being equal to a carrot and two pears
Was obvious, for camels are a donkey and two hares
A bicycle without a wheel was equal to a boat
But take away an apple and you’ve got a mountain goat
Though if you multiply an orange by a seedless grape
The answer’s twenty six and a recurring hairy ape
Who knew that one banana added to a coconut
Might equate to seven minus half a water butt
But, hey, I passed exams that say I’m clever as can be
Two peaches plus an aubergine will not befuddle me
The usefulness of algebra is difficult to see
Unless you need to prove six plums are very nearly three
But what I learnt of algebra I never did forget
Though now I’m ninety seven… and I haven’t used it yet

Trees are witness
The tale of man
Start to end.
Trees goes with age
Age in hundreds
Wrote history.
Trees gives shades
Off oxygen
So life will live.
Trees equate life
One man one tree
For you and me.

Older does not necessarily
equate to wiser -- but wiser
can often make one seem a lot
older; in fact, robbed of youth
by poverty and war, I have
sadly met, too many premature
ancients: -- cynicism
in their eyes; where
should reside bright, hopeful
gleams -- dreams, obliterated,
man's faux surface designs over-inking truer light,
little more than colorful
tattoos
of ever
deeper
representation
of spirit
terminating
blight --

Reason rests upon faith
I am not into fideism
I'm not a fan of the Enlightenment
Or a Cartesian prison
Mr. Naturalist if you please
Show me where laws grow on trees
Or where numbers hide
And propositions are seen
So you believe what you see
Has anyone ever seen
An abstract entity?
Unbelieving scientists
Obscure and fudge the truth
All the theories they've put forth
Drowned in primordial soup
Liberals say anything goes
Then attempt to condemn a belief
That's as silly as a kleptomaniac
Claiming not to be a thief
Existentialism
Seems appealing
Equate God's thoughts
It has no meaning
Thinking God's thoughts
After Him we are commanded
In chance and luck you'll be stuck
Leaving you intellectually stranded
So how do we account for counting?
Is it antecedent steps of doubt?
When we experience epistemological self-consciousness
We can ask "Who let the dogmas out?"

Why is the sky blue? Asked Jimmy
Fantastic question!
Why indeed?
Why did The Creator
Whether God or Science or a Scientific God
Choose blue
Instead of forest green, pale yellow, or maroon?
Is it because the day seems cheerier
The world brighter
The people friendlier
Due to the color overhead?
A Mount Everest of evidence shows
Humans are happier
Outside
Under the blue.
So, why do we equate blue with sadness?
Certainly, blueberries are one of the most congenial of the berries
And Superman always dazzles in blue.
However, I suppose not all blues are the same.
Midnight blue is complex in color and to contemplate.
Almost all have gazed hypnotically into its majestic fluidity.
Many onlookers discovered hidden inspiration and birth.
But, some couldn’t see past darkness and conclusion.
Blue, sky blue, and midnight blue
Among those shades lies many lessons
Including the fragility of stereotypes and prejudice.
What’s that Jimmy?
You only need an explanation to relay to science class?
Oh.
Sky color derives from air molecules and wavelengths of sunlight.
Is that the answer you’re seeking son?

in my current manic state
I do not hesitate
to throw away my fate
walking off is my date
not a potential mate
identify source of hate
to silliness I equate
that guy was second rate
pretty sure you can commiserate
for your last blind date
was not totally great
book writers collaborate
publisher may have to wait
send a teaser as bait
this guy was named Nate
Not my ideal blind date

She sits furlong
the race has been won
saddled on the mountain top
why equate the drilled
laying like searchlight beams
She waits for the birman
with wings on her mind
straight laced
she race you for fun
Venus on the edge
shared shies
she unfathom you

The vast ocean would entwine with the sky
and thus consumed with this burning yearning,
gathering strength, its mission, do or die,
waves around lava rocks begin churning.
Kiama is where ocean’s heart and soul
demonstrate that heavens are within grasp,
with waves swirling skyward at this blowhole,
as emotions peak, heart lets out a gasp.
The chamber from which the ocean does rise,
we equate in us as cave of our heart,
where God’s magnetism delights to surprise
our soul, on feeling bliss ignition start.
Beholding in wonder, sea waves thunder,
we feel rapture rise from deep down under.

My listless thoughts are entirely detached
My mind unable to fully equate
These feelings completely skewed and mismatched
Emotions flee my mind then dissipate
The brain concedes to devil incarnate
Yielding to a distant watching member
Recalling a past I can't remember.

We persecute
Punish ourselves
Then accept whatever sentence
Handed down to us
For merely showing human kindness
Which we equate to weakness
Knowing also full well
We have absolutely no
And there is no form
Of appeal
Or salvation
For those of us amongst us who
Try and care
Yet it never seems to get us anywhere
But in the dock
Standing accused

In this particular scenario or case
The actual amount of Zeroes
You place or add on the end
Does not represent it's actual
Real value or true worth
Because the difference being is this
Although I may have only been able
To contribute $ 1 Dollar
It's a $ 1 Dollar I can barely afford
And may equate and come at the cost
Of me stealing a meal out my child's mouth
Far more than I can afford to give
Whereas your large contribution
Of $ 10 k plus Dollar's
To you isn't even pocket change
Whereas you on the other hand
Tomorrow will be front page news
Having your picture taken
Handing over that Cheque
I read over someone else's shoulder
Because I can't afford to buy the newspaper
Unless I can no longer afford
Actual Toilet paper itself

I make a perfect dry martini,
I read and write and speak Français,
All my suits, and shirts, and shoes are custom-made.
I own a Porsche and Maserati,
A house on Acapulco Bay
With scores of floors of marble tile that's all inlaid.
I have a staff to fetch and carry,
My every wish is their command,
If I drop things, I just leave them where they lay.
All I need do is snap my fingers,
Someone's always close at hand,
And they look after Señor Jim in every way.
I host the most elaborate soirées,
They're in society's upper niche,
On my birthday and, of course, on New Year's Eve,
Where the hoi polloi and high-born
Mingle with the nouveau riche,
And they're all the better for it when they leave.
This all may seem a bit pretentious,
And I don't mean to self-inflate,
For wealth and fame, of course, do not equate with happiness,
But in my dreams my alter ego
Will oftentimes exaggerate
And make seem real what, to be sure, is pure "b..s".

Disconcerting to us is darkness of space,
across which luminous stars adorn the sky.
We look to the light, as outpourings of grace,
whilst inky blackness, instinctively decry.
Wishing to linger in our lovers embrace,
we equate love with light, which when ebbs, we die.
Fearful of the dark, we sleep it off at night,
joyous when greeted by the morning’s sunlight.

Watching you
Green around the gills
trying to eat sushi
revulsed at every bite
Again I must bring
To your attention
That mirroring a choice this time of food
does not equate to togetherness
Nor does this
Over the top display
balance the scales
Of a day late and dollar short
Period
I am forever and always
Immune to
and protected from
All forms of the love bomb
