Every Wrinkle

Time can’t erase
All the lines on your face,
Although Botox, I’m told,
Helps you not look so old.

A face lift, as well,
Means that others can’t tell
Your true age, with success,
If they’re making a guess.

Every wrinkle reflects
How our body elects
To display each ordeal
That we cannot conceal.

So there’s no need to hide
What should bring us some pride,
For we’ve come to that age,
Turning many a page.

Still, I wouldn’t quite mind
If I woke up to find
That my sheets, wrinkle-free,
Passed that magic to me.

Premium Member He Who Never Loves

   He who never loves
     never makes mistakes

Though his heart will never sing
     neither will it ache

He elects to play it safe
     risks he never takes

Though I thought I saw regret
     o’erspread him at the wake

America:
Does the Light Still Shine?

            --------

    "Freedom of speech,
     Freedom to worship,
     Freedom from want,
     Freedom from fear."

            --------

Travelers to this Blessed Land
Had many varied tales to tell;
Emigrants from harsh demands

Beset by woes words can't dispel,
Long suffered tragedies emerge:
Exiles condemned for their beliefs,
Scapegoats who fled a rampant purge,
Survivors who sought war's relief,
Elects reviled for social strains
Deplored as being risky foes

Left homes behind with all to gain
And persevered when tests arose.
Now, citizens with Rights-in-hand
Delivered to this Blessed land.

Distractions, Detractions and Lack of Actions

#"Don't Turn Away!"
At least of all, NOT today!
You ARE being spoken too, yes YOU!
This goes far beyond mere noise, and the volumes are deafening! What am I referring to? The Ultimate Gifted Voice, "WITHIN".

But, sometimes we opt to ignore it...
And yet, it chooses NOT to ignore us!
How fortunate is that?
What a REPLENISHING supply!

The GOLDEN VOICE asks, how long will you keep procrastinating? I AM WITHIN YOU TO HELP YOU WITH YOUR ESCALATING!

Someone elects to sleep...
the inner voice weeps; it yells, it rages,
it screams it's time to advance to
NEW STAGES!

"WAKE UP!
IT'S TIME FOR A SHAKE-UP! ! !"

It's Time, to Align, for an ADVANCED Version of "YOU"! An ENHANCED Pay-Off from Mere ACTIONS Pursued!

Heaven Is a Motivator

Heaven is a motivator. Knowing that your going to heaven after you die is a game changer. You should live your life the best you can. You should live for God, our world’s greatest fan. Don’t just think of heaven when your about to die and if you have an illness and start to cry. Think of heaven everyday even when it’s your birthday. Knowing that you are going to heaven is a praise for days my brethren. Treat everyone with kindness and respect. Show Jesus Christ that you are one of his chosen elects. Live a happy and peaceful life, be faithful to God and act nice. When Jesus says he has a place for you, their is no doubting that which is true. Wondering souls and being joyful is living a great life and being hopeful. Since you know your going to heaven after you die, live everyday with love and don’t pass your life by. Live your life for Jesus only because he holds you in his heart and you are never lonely. That place called heaven is waiting for you. Make your life here on earth a loving memory and remember what you have to do.

Premium Member Lover and Fighter

Baffling, the turmoil... This warrior, she
with fiercest desire to safeguard the weak
and innocent, rises to squelch hostile fire,
protecting when able with crafts she’s acquired.

But lover prevails; she won’t raise a fist,
lest push comes to shove, and villain persists.
She elects tactful words to settle the score;
oft slighting herself, yet for others she'll roar...

And tear limb from limb when concessions won’t do
(her mind bends a notch when defender steps through).
Because she wants peace to fully endure,
she stays combat-ready with aims to secure.

With zest for the fight, she regards skillful motion,
though harm by her hand is a sickening notion.

Shrewd leader enthrones
Foolish elects him blindly
to live or to die!

Never Again, Never In Vain

Never again should innocent lives vanish in vain
Cos machineguns marshall greater protection
Than students’ lives. Marjory Stoneman survivors chant ‘Never Again’
Should indifference and insensitivity buttress inept inaction.

Columbine, Sandy Hook memories remain memories
Without a determined call for students lives to live
Alongside gun laws from death merchant law parodies
That no care, no concern gun proponents to lives give.

Students leave home safe, students return home safe
After school without a machinegun taking a potshot
At students attending school. No slayers students should strafe
At school without dealing death blows to dreams of a benevolent bigshot.

Never again should parents bury sons and daughters too soon
Cos a psycho with a grudge and greed for guns
Elects to discharge a volley of bullets in real time at noon
To take way lives of sons and daughters who won’t become nuns.

Brexit Sonnet 20 - No More Hell-Broth

Brexit Sonnet No.20
‘No More Hell-Broth’

Our Brexit bringers are cross with their leader ‘tis said,
Confidence lost with their gabardine dream of last year.
The model’s moved on, but distress on how they are led
Is causing them angst, with some pain; even fear.
Kindness is due to the man in the eye of the storm,
Well served his country with arms; OBE from our Queen.
Unseated by hurdle in midst of one’s life is the norm,
For a man who selects, or elects, a questionable team.
Now confidence escapes our Brexit bearers,
As wobbly Brexit cauldron boils and bakes,
It’s toxic mix of economic errors.
We suffer, whilst fools of all, it makes.
So eye of newt and toe of frog be gone!
We’ll drink no more hell-broth to Brexit’s song.

Memelection Day

The prism is a schism of discordian vision,
To prevent intercession of men up in my kitchen,
Through the Cult of Kek,
We've just witnessed boredom is business,
Emphasis on the actions performed on the internets,
What's the difference between 4chan and fame?
When memetic magic help elects the king of the game?
West coast egoists have no boasting left,
When their eagle got poached by a troll, shot dead.
The average joe don't even know the source of his lols,
The underground thrones are only known by the gnomes,
The bi-polar sorcerer, performing cultural crap storms,
Summoning dragons born from the most fascist of norms,
I only study I do not perform these rituals,
But the alt-right is spooky and scares me just a little.

The VP Debate
By Franklin Price
10/5/2016

The VP elects were on TV
As a debate it wasn't right
Was a farcical imitation
Might as well have been a fight

Could have been a boxing match
With refereeing quite a botch
Many low blows being thrown
Not to the head but to the crotch

So busy with the slandering
Never heard just where they stood
The only thing I say of note
“ did neither party any good”

Must admit we channel changed
And did not watch it all
We only watched a round or two
Then we made the only call

The worst of all the bad debates
Wasn't hard to say a draw
This entire race for president
Is the worst I ever saw

My English use is questionable
Might say it's even bad
But not as bad as this debate
Now that's off my chest; I'm glad

Premium Member Expensive

Explosive and intimidating, only the well to do can bargain
Xenon’s imitator-rare in the mixture of its like
Peacocks so classy in comparison to Turkeys
Evaluation of worth raises the wings of pride, but
New necessarily does not translate to costly
Selects its attraction but never to be selected
Invites without a microphone, advert, plea or agency
Very strict in maintaining an already established level, which is
Enclosed in packages made of precious rares.

Premium Member Villanelle: Only In Democracies Reigns Surprise

Villanelle: Only in democracies reigns surprise

Only in democracies reigns surprise
The majority cast their franchised rights
Elect CEOs who tell fat cat lies

In dictatorships the leader is wise
He elects himself and appoints his mites
Only in democracies reigns surprise

On election day leaders on the rise
By the hundredth day majority fights
Elect CEOs who tell fat cat lies

By end of first term majority dies
Wonders how they kept the leader uprights
Only in democracies reigns surprise

By start of second term the voter cries
Give us our oligarchy by rights
Elect CEOs who tell fat cat lies

In dictatorships people march in files
To show they don’t much care about rights
Only in democracies reigns surprise
Elect CEOs who tell fat cat lies.

< elects not to open door by hand
                                     looks pretty stupid too
even an grandma can do it
                                     calling all grandma's
                                     technology has gone to far
                                     really really to far now
one does not need to be an rocket scientist
                                     nor an magician
it's easy as one two three
                                     candidly smile
                                     tip your hats
                                     look both ways
                                     launch arms outward
and pull or push that's it
