Hours nibble at a back strain.
Tenuous strings were tugged
lifting water bottles.
You wonder how weak and fragile
you are. How vulnerable to
those ancient red tides within
that can bend your iron like plasticine,
turn you into a crooked question mark.
Quartered by straining horses,
neural fibers alliterate a thrumming fugue
upon a desiccated elastic band;
one now stretched far too taut.
Hours nibble at a back strain.
Tenuous strings were pulled
lifting water bottles.
You wonder how weak and fragile
you are. How vulnerable to
these ancient red tides within
that can bend your iron like plasticine,
turn you into a crooked question mark.
The body is quartered by straining horses,
a torture of disruption
condemning the spine to the wrenching rack.
After the sudden blind attack
sharp incisions tear apart and spasm,
keep you shuffling into dark corners
where ghosts groan over their
twisted bones.
Crab-walking time whittles away
at your shrunken being.
You feel as if you are bottled by water,
a sloshing on a rocking skateboard,
wakes crash - splashes of awareness
witnessing a sudden fragility,
the awkward creaking of your soul
being stretched too taut
on its desiccated elastic band.

As time stretches like an elastic band
I find it hard to lead silence by the hand
the handles keep turning regardless of
and the seconds keep fleeting my love
One day the time clock will stop ticking
then who knows what old age will bring
lets make the most of our time beloved
for I know the road to life can be rugged
But if we slow it down walk hand in hand
then time can be ours etched in the sand
lets make the years unfold as we planned
living them joyfully, we can make a stand
Let us be silent as two turtle doves in one
soaring further then the stars and the Sun.

Salted water released
like an elastic band
loose my ribs cage
finally allowin' air in.
Roll down cheeks
turn at the jaw
trace down the neck
caress my armor.
When all else is pain
this human reflex
revives the senses
makes me feel again.
Let slide, wash away
like soul rain
brighten the grey
bring back sun-rays.
Oh, please let it begin.
What I wouldn't give,
in this moment I'm in,
for my dry eyes to spill.
Dad, how I love to recall
The days when I was very small,
On your lap, ear upon your chest,
Moments like these I loved the best.
Holidays with coastal walks,
Singing songs and having talks.
Shadow puppets on the wall.
Picking me up after a fall.
Saucepan lids and banging pans
Singing MacNamaras band.
With my 'slippy' on your head,
Auntie Mary stories before bed.
A too-ra-loo-ra lullaby.
Flying kites in the sky.
Waves waves you can't catch me,
Egg and chips for our tea.
Gear changing in the car.
Making an elastic band guitar.
Sticky toffee, Turkish delight.
Looking at the stars at night.
These memories bring so much pleasure,
Of a childhood that I treasure,
So on this special fathers day
There's just one thing I want to say.....
...... I love you xx
17th June 2017
For my dad on Father's day tomorrow.
I've learned
to be alone
I've learned
I'm flesh and bone
But that's not all
I'm spirit
Indestructible
Undefeatable
Undeniable
Unhurtable
Powerful
Unresistable
Spirit of love
That's what I am
Nothing can lessen me
Nothing can diminish me
Only enrichen me
Therefore I tear down each wall
Therefore
I'm strong and tall
Therefore - I do not stall
You cannot stop me
You cannot block me
You cannot shock me
Or lock me
Outside
I'm an elastic band
The more you stretch me
The more you increase my capacity
My velocity
is the speed of light
I shine
All day all night
How many pieces? They disappeared. Where have they gone? Nobody knows. Wisdom isn't in a glorified turning pin. And nonetheless many hands many ingredients long time make a pie. Strengthen not an elastic band. It is quite smiley today and dilapidated becoming's of an overgrown frog in nappies will never shine a light of a torch upon a nest of iron clad fort of torsos. Hahahaha and now a field grins. Hahahaha koi carp in hats dancing tap dance. Xxxx constellation z
In this wonky day and time,
this favored temperate clime
dares suggest wisdom's course
espouse prevalent societal force.*
Family tree boundaries,
stretched by current modes
like an old elastic band,
accept new branches
hung precariously
on the old sturdy trunk.
Old Limbs are newly bushed
with leaves bearing prefixes
with measuring sounds;
third, adopted, step, half -
or followed by modifiers;
in-law, live-in, significant other.
Partners and lovers
get tied on with slippery ribbons,
names entered in a ledger,
but not with permanent ink.
Disjointed families, add-ons,
and second family births
leave our children wondering
to whom they belong.

I have.
I have an Olympic size swimming pool;
well actually its just a bath.
I have a snooker table;
well no not really its two balls in a sack.
I have an expensive bracelet;
alright I don't its an elastic band with some glitter glued on that's just snapped.
I've got a Ferrari car;
you know I don't actually I have a Peugeot and its colour is somewhere in between bright orange and a burnt sort of cr*p.
I have a bird sanctuary;
no I don't I have a garden and some trees in the back.
I live in a mansion;
a semi detached house with three bedrooms and a bathroom that you couldn't literally swing a rat.
I have a Gibson guitar;
well an acoustic guitar that I got free from a charity shop with 5 strings and no god damn strap.
I have millions of friends;
I have a girlfriend and the voices in my head and a one eyed sixteen year old black farting cat.
I have a message;
well its not really a message but just to say that all that I've got I appreciate and you might want to think about that.
Where have I lost it? I have searched through all the cabinets and cupboards.
Might it be in the bedroom tucked inside sheets of lavender?
Nope, only broken memories in glass frames, my knuckles smeared with red.
What mayhem has embarked in this kitchen of strewn pots and pans?
The reflective stanless echoing a once dancing era of full hearts, an elastic band that stretched your smile.
Only now they have been painted black with grease.
O wait now I remember where I left it.
With you, inside a throb beating chest, locked with steel bolts.
