Grey Days

Somber light slants through the window.
The sun lazes behind blankets of clouds.
Grey skies are all I see.
A tranquil yet almost uneasy atmosphere
rests over everyone.
No one dares to shrug it off.

Today is a day for soft musing and true thoughts, 
it's sobering and uplifting at the same time.
There will be no more doubts by the end

UNDER THIS DREARY SKY

I walk beside my pain,
Beside you, beside myself again.
I talk to walls when the world goes mute,
And stack the days like regrets in dispute.
I bottle up the passing hours,
Sleepless nights and faded powers.
Memories hold my hand too tight,
Like loyal dogs with a twisted bite.
No more room for empty vows,
Just silence drowning in its howls.

draped in stark pain debris

that angst next dresses more hopeless

depressed

Midnight Dreary

Midnight Dreary

An endless sludge. Day to day. Pray to pray.
Pray that deep water goes away. 
Pray that exhaustion no longer
comes out to play. 

The spirits are dim here, 
they sit by as I shed a tear. 
Quiet natural, for if my tears were heard, 
the question would be if I were absurd.

On Dreary Morns

On dreary morns when rain is nigh
I'm weary of the misty sky
when Autumn's season comes to call
and russet leaves begin to fall.
To Summer I whisper, "Goodbye."

The lilacs petals wilt and die.
Blustery winds cause me to sigh.
Can't cajole them to stop or stall
on dreary morns.

No slumber when things are awry.
Maybe an etching I should try.

Along the Cold Dreary Road

There was a time
Of life with joy and happiness 
Not a single concern
Now I just have regrets to look back at


Little by little 
The steps I take come to naught 
Sadness and self pity 
Make myself filled with apathy 

With cowardliness as my virtue, 
Of living a fulfilled life 
I dream of everyday 
Whilst the

Dreary Dreamlessness

Lulled into a drugged dreamless sleep, 
She slips into shadowy sighs, 
Lost beyond her reach, somewhere deep, 
Unmoving, like a log, she lies. 
When she wakes, weariness remains, 
Is there a way out of these chains?

Despondent, One Dreary Day

From on high, only by Him
How throned o'er, thought of?
When as prompt, through each flash
Rainbow's, ray's, re-sent
The heartening mercy!
The heart-warming love!
To believe, must we bear
Full-faced God's descent?

Dreary Sea I Weary

I'm resting on a gloomy shore.
I'm surrounded by a pulsing roar.
In the water, flowers bloom
Underneath the silver dune.

I'm always falling in this lagoon,
Floating in a never-ending trance.
Interlude with a hazy moon
In my youth, I fell in a romance.

There isn't a sound of mine in the sky.
This is a silent kiss upon my cry,
Draining the seas

Dreary Day

A poem for the loved ones we've lost.


I awoke this lonely, dreary, day
to all the clouds of steely gray
life's vibrant colors losing hue
with not but empty things to do


Till the rain falls in its contempt
To mock the many tears I've spent
its blurring haze caused disarray 
Drowns the mind of things we'd say

Underneath sunken eyes
Who only see
Insomnia’s gloom
Coloring the night
