The Domain of Fear

The Domain of Fear

The Devil and hell, all Christians would agree,
Are the fate awaiting non believers like me.

But if you search the Scriptures you’d see,
Both Satan and hell are nowhere to be
Found in the Writings of the Jews,
And to Christians, this is real news.

All dead people went to the place of the dead.
Sheol was the name and there was no dread,
Of modern heaven or hell.
Good or bad, that’s where you’d dwell.

But Christians came up with this permanent abode,
So as to keep the believers cowed.

And the Devil? Nowhere in the Jewish Scripture.
Of The Satan, we have a different picture.
A vassal of God, no power to harm.
He only does God’s bidding, (turn down your alarm).
Look at Job with God and the Adversary.
There is no dissent, God need not parry.

Both concepts are fiction, made up to cause fear
So that followers would obey, listen and adhere.

Premium MemberReclaim Your Domain

I wish I could plug
A flash drive in your ear.
I would wipe clean the worries
Hidden deep inside there.

I know they've been hiding
In camouflaged space.
Your very own virus
firmly in place.

Spreading infection
Every which way.
Squeezing the happy
Right out of the way.

It's time to recover,
Diminish your pain.
Pick up your tools.
Reclaim your domain.

Before long, I promise,
With daily scans,
You'll reboot and function
With plenty of ram.

Premium MemberDenizens Of Her Domain

Mother Nature, divine and yet so whimsical
Her flowing streams fall warm, healing and abiding
A darkened blue-green sea, maroon and sapphire shores,
cradle us asleep, with your gentle waves
harboring the dour rude awakenings
when eddying rapids currented by the tide
Consume the uncertainty and the lies of the day tearing the heart apart
Suspend judgment and attain tranquility of mind
White light and red, filters a pink-tint, nebulous fringed rose gold
I’m graced in your stellar light, a cosmic pearl

King Poet of My Domain

I live on permanent Sundays
with my love from the past
in constant litigation
with my future announced
I'm a renewed hermit
for admired dreams,
my horizon surpasses
the arch of my bedroom....
I am content as i can be
famous poet of my Domain soul !

The Crown
David J Walker

I can sense the advent
of the harvest to come
	The bees have retreated
High on the nectar of a successful hunt
Home is the hive
	Alive with instinct
Survive
The colony sings in a low hum
Of favorite hymn’s sung
To the dead queen

Who can replace her
Among the close cast
 The vast number of children
In line for the thrown
	A King…in the Queen's domain?
I can sense the advent
	Of the darkness of
Another fall
Mistaking
a bitter fruit for freedom

Premium MemberOur Domain To Rule Over

we often lie about
what we're thinking

deny deny deny
unwilling to divulge
our private thoughts
our inner secrets

not wanting
to be violated

our thoughts are ours
flawed and broken
right or wrong
as they may be

they're ours
and no one else's

we'll share
to a degree
but only when safe
is how we feel

My Soul's Domain

Wisdom is of greater weight
than valor, pride, or name
It harbors in my deepest thoughts
to rule my souls’ domain

 Choices made my kingdom saved
though others yet to see
My heart and mind ensconced as one
—the future mine to free

Premium MemberLeopards Loose in the Domain

Out of a neon jungle the big cats prowl
the wind in the willows unrecovered,
for when the cats and wind begin to howl
I am stoned and the boys truly mothered!
So I rip in and bowl an inswinger
and rap ‘em on the pads…”howzat?” I shout,
pivoting to see a pointing finger,
but the bastard umpire says “Not Out!”.
Behold the shot, the call of “no, yes, no”…
a sledge and slog on the concrete wickets
and puffs of stupefying herb billow
the post-match bar in the oak tree pickets.
For a play and a prey the big cats reign
when the Leopards are loose in The Domain.

Pic above is of Auckland Domain.

*The Leopards are a cricket team.
*Cricket bats are made from willow trees.
*Mothered is slang for extremely drunk.
*Inswinger is a type of bowling delivery.
*If a bowler appeals to an umpire for a
dismissal and he agrees the batsman is
out he points and raises his finger.
*Sledge is a cutting insulting remark.

Premium MemberA Cat's Domain

dark allure
brash charm
her movements an acrobatic show
                             mannered rhythm
like her arched back of individualism

my black cat
stealing affection
               or holding me at bay
complicated, contradictory creature
         with hinges of ease

by the window, she stares at crows cawing
                                               a chatter of secrets
quietly rehearsing a staged assault
              like the release of dreaming
feathered intrusions from an other worldly out of doors
              twitching whiskers to alarm

her presence
       cheekily visible
fur soft, a sheen that elevates her
like the gentle soothing scrub of "purrs"
       added to my comfort
       a shared commitment
                        our glue

A Coffin Is a Small Domain

When laid inside from end to end.
And there a box reposed my friend.
When heaven's ground is not of earth.
Fear not your God, he knows this worst.

Premium MemberA Domain of Shadows

I fade into the black of loneliness
And disappear in its realm where I fall
Silence surrounds my soul as I regress
To finally hear my heart's emptiness call
From the drips and drops of love's vanity
Which left a coldness in my heart to stay
As twists and turns from love's insanity
Came to tear all that ever was away
To leave a dim-lit world of confusion
Where pieces lay broken, scattered about
Drifting in shadows from love's illusion
It spills from my heart rushing to pour out
How quiet it becomes when love withdrawals
This shadowed domain where my dead heart spawls
