Happy dentist say, when at chair, always looking down in mouth,
“If two-thirty appointment, timely arrive, open wide, north and south.”

Smart dry cleaner say, “When laundering get old, ironing fatigues.
Fresh stuff, no fluff nor fold, we take

Where to begin?
Perhaps with the hum of the drill
lurking in some unseen chamber,
already rehearsing my name?
Or the taunting clock counting down
the minutes?

about something else besides
dentistry but this is the
loudest thought I’ve got

Cool donkey earned fame as a fine dentist.

Five Minutes

Dentist appointments cause me to linger,
Someplace betwixt dread and the blackness,
Fright’s version of despair, 
Wistful and aching with silent prayers,

Gremlins are in my tooth today

My Dentist Visit Dream Today

I woke up today from a long ugly nap that was real

With trepidation the dentist I called
Gripped by agony a terrible ache
He took one look absolutely appalled
I was in blue funk and started to shake.

Blue latex gloves he snapped on with relish
My thoughts at that moment “I cannot win”
Fearful and ridged felt sure I would perish
Many decayed teeth, clearly 'tis a sin!
