The news provide harsh lessons.
I was so naive about politics & politicians.
It's not about creating a better world.
Where did I ever get that idea?

I went on a bike ride, I was hyper-alert
I had just emerged from the mental ward
I thought I was despised, felt wounded and hurt
But I lied to the doctor to get out the door
For the first miles I felt the wind in my hair
Then a car drove by, I heard a loud jeer
It was just a dog with his nose in the air
I had mistaken my species, all was clear.
Two miles on, an ambush from the side
A loud sneer, I felt sudden stress
On closer look, a Downs Syndrome guy
I let out my breath, stress got less.
Got into Kingston, car passed, a shout
"Go Home" it said, and then passed by
Was this true, should I block it out?
Why riff off a chord, if the chord don't apply?
Ten miles later, a hand reached out of a car
Tried to push me off the road
They failed, but threw my mind's door ajar
Stress climbed, I felt I would explode.
I crested a hill, a view opened wide
Then I started to think, was it all the same?
Why get anxious, on this scenic ride?
My illusions and theirs - it' was all a game.
Take me now, oh dear lord of greater good!
Make my worthless life have meaning
As I throw it all away
Dashed against the walls and defenses
Of an enemy I create
To be right
No matter how wrong
I know my heart to be.

You’re wrong.
And I wish you’d know it.
You’re not the victim,
Of some elaborate plan—
You’re just wrong.
I set my boundaries.
I set my rules,
I drew a line,
In the sand of our relationship,
And you crossed it.
Over,
And over again—
You say it was accidental,
But if that was an accident,
I don’t want to know what you think is purposeful.
Choosing delusion over reality,
Can’t be taken lightly,
For you ignoring rules,
Becomes you following a higher purpose.
You’re not the victim,
You’re the wrongdoer.
The attacker,
The anxiety in my life—
I need a break,
I need that space,
So I explained.
All of my thoughts to you,
All of those rules,
Yet instead begging for forgiveness,
You felt sorry that I was cruel,
Sorry I had set those rules,
Sorry that I thought the victim—
Wasn’t you.
Dancing with delusions, sparks of hellfire
Course through my lugubrious quill pen.
Distorted words igniting fear,
Anxiety fills crevices,
Encircling, silencing,
Asphyxiating.
Walls closing in,
Compressing.
Hope fades,
Doom.
Dread
Runs cold.
Veins poisoned,
Sanity slips
Unmercifully.
The angels are mimicked.
Light dimming, darkness descends
As demons mingle with the dead.
Apocalyptic skies crack open
To wash away all that you held sacred.
I coulda written that song, “Purple Rain.”
It didn’t take that big of a brain.
And I coulda written that song “Hotel California.”
But girl - I do wanna warn ya!
I’ve always been considered at least halfway insane.
Love
Not felt, nor seen
Lost….
Forgotten, lost to the waves
Waves of hurt, bobbing away
Locked, in prisons of their own making
Cut off from the shore
Shores not seen a while, marooned
Till the rocks of culpability, to break
To open a heart, shipwrecked
Shipwrecked in a sea of delusions
Shipwrecked in a sea of angst

The Madness of the Crowd and Other Popular Delusions
The crowd is always prone to madness
Since reaction as a herd in danger
Demands conformity without reason.
The fact we live in a time of madness
Is nothing new or unusual,
Relative Reality after all being
Merely a conspiracy of relatives.
But sometimes it seems it’s all now extra crazy
As traditional boundaries break down
And everyone is free to think and say
And increasingly do whatever they want.
The ascendency of gender dysphoria
And acceptance, even celebration
Of child mutilation
Being a case in point.
But the fact is, we live in a world of illusion
Which the madness and delusions of the crowd
Is merely attempting to adapt to,
As all our perceptions and thoughts filter through
A mind which can do no other than interpret and distort.
These are the tools we are given,
A mind and body hardwired to survive
In a world of illusion, thus adapted
To the point of expertise with spinning illusions.
It’s not our fault, but instead our destiny
To find a way through
Out of the Cave of Unknowing
Into the Space
Of a land before time.

The urge to hold hands
The urge to have a dance
The urge to hug him tight
As my problems turn light
Wanna listen to his talks
Wanna go on midnight walks
Wanna go to movie tonight
Wanna live like it's the last night
I'll promise not to hurt you
I'll promise not to cheat you
I'll promise to stay
I'll promise today
The desire to take care
Of a man who is rare
In this vicious earth
Till our death...
Ignorance is a lie;
A construct of entitlement.
Separation is a lie;
A construct of inflated ego.
Hatred is a lie;
A construct of self-directed loathing.
Powerlessness is a lie;
A construct of apathy.
Racism is a lie;
a construct of ignorance.
Entitlement is a lie
A construct of degradation.
Death is a lie;
A construct of embedded fear.
Poverty is a lie;
A construct of perverted power.
Dominance is a lie;
A construct of perversion.
Construct: A complex image or idea formed
of a number of simpler images or ideas.
Reconstruct: rebuild from the ground up.
Thoughts are things, and words have power to transform;
A construct of enlightenment.

My days full of joy.
Delusions waver away
like the fading colors of the rainbow.
Strife is turned into peace
as nightingales and their chicks
sing in concert within the stage of the night.

Why does the mouse disguise itself as a rat?
Because it has delusions of grandeur.
The mouse thinks it must win in life,
And to win in life is to be intimidating;
To make a name for yourself.
Rats are feared, but who would fear a mouse?
A mouse, with its big ears and adorable whiskers—
A mouse is but a small creature,
Whereas the rat is haggard and diseased.
So why does the mouse disguise itself as a rat?
To be anything it is not.
Because it is better to be feared than undermined.
Roused by a rude jolt
I start up from my half-slumber.
Utterly clueless I move about
clinging to my pet delusions
in complete darkness of my past
coming after me swinging a truncheon…
I vaguely hear screams and yells
hurled at me some time before
echoing in my memory’s vault
as from a distant past.
But yesterday seemed like a bowl of cheesecake
the food of love served on a gold plate;
but today my startled eyes flit over
milestones giving way to milestones…
Life is a squeezed rubber ball
that retrieves its shape before rolling on.
