Premium MemberJealous of Dewberry

lavender is jealous
purple screams in agony
because they have both spotted
the diabolical, deliberately, delightful dewberry

now how will they sell their own color?
who would buy plain janes
when they could purchase something with an exotic name

I shall be called purple-icious, purple decided.
you may defer to me as queen purple-icious.
Lavendar could not stop laughing.

but when she did stop she decided to call herself lilly-berry.
I am now lilly-berry, she told purple-icious.
Excuse me.
I mean
Queen Purple-icious

Dewberry never knew what she had started.

Premium MemberNO ONE

Once again I defer today’s blessing to the Native Nations
I hope someday their wisdom will help us understand…
how we are not the total masters…
but only one part of the land

No one owns the water
No one owns the land
No one owns the ocean
No one owns the sand

These are give by our Mother

The Planet provides for free

Only by the hands
of the greedy
does the Earth
require a fee

The Tallest Tale Is True

I wish lie could see,
Justly of truth as so be,
But lie's wish does flee...
Far away truth eye's decree.

Tales, love tells are often so high
For eyes to catch up,
But which, mind's wish could swallow?

Why won't lie be blur,
Not as life moments defer?
But how light prefer
Beyond possible threat's stir...

Tales are often so high, love tells...
Eyes up to catch, for
Mind's wish could swallow, but which?

The tallest tale is true,
Mind couldn't swallow...
Makes truth learn of clue,
Heart rather does follow.

Imagine, what makes me smile,
Might make others laugh out loud...
If care can't pull the trigger to be calm.

The tallest tale is true,
Eye wouldn't believe what not seen;
Makes mind bigger than eye's clue,
And heart, the biggest than mind's being.

What makes me smile, imagine...
Makes others laugh out loud, might
Pull the trigger to be calm if care can't.

The Blue Garden

15 minute city going down slow...
10,000 vehicles, everyone going
Live in the bottleneck, nowhere to go.
New coffee houses replace the old
Old coffee houses now closed
New owners can't speak English,
Old coffee, new coffee double the cost
Old sandwich, new sandwich
Ten times the price of rice, well,
Isn't that nice!
No public restrooms, pay as you go
If you have to pee, ask for the key
What am I doing here? Who am I?
Where do I go from here? Why do I care?
We've spent the whole world
Trying to kowtow and defer
To tyrants and idiots
Bureau socratics,
These giant rat bastards
Who hijacked our future.
What makes me think
I'll be able to
Get out of this life alive? ~psp

Gretna Green

Under eighteen
hot tears spilling
nowhere near serene
at the end of your rope
cannot cope
need fulfilling
please don't mope
there's always hope
here's the dope
find someone thrilling
you can soft-soap
who is willing
and won't say 'Nope'
to a clandestine marriage
on the slippery slope
of the blacksmith's anvil
hire the carriage
you prefer
defer the billing
and elope

Size Matters

When I think of food and drink,
it's no surprise
the question does arise,
with booze some choose to let it breathe
and defer their bottle of wine,
I prefer to savour the flavour
and give mouth to mouth to mine.
(Que Syrah, Syrah!)
Some say, “The glass is half full,”
with accent on the positive,
some see the glass half empty,
and focus on the negative.
Two sides to every story,
supposedly that implies,
as for me I see
something else entirely.
And as for size I will apprise,
but, before I do, I beg of you,
allow me one more swig,
“Sláinte, salud, prost, cin cin,”
the glass is too damn big!

Life's philosophy

A man was born to dignify
Deserving every piece of respect
For the fantabulous of intelligences
For the bright shine of mindsets

Of the pure and sharp eyesight
And of the facile and sturdy hands
Finely handles with delicacies
While the decency of the manners
Bestowed its glamourous graces

Of these evidence for the grades
Of its freedom and dominance
To be owned by a respectable man

No third parties could obstructing
Nor the contrived defer his shining
Of its presence as a master of men
With rights legitimated by nature
Rather, by artificially made with power
Into a headless minion of followers

Harvesting the man-made bumptious
Though, may success for glossing face
But deemed meaningless in a man's eyes

Premium MemberWho Knew

I loved you long before you knew
I couldn't say but wanted to
I dreamt alot back then of you
And to this day still dream I do

I used to look for where you were
No thing could cause me to defer
My mission I would not deter
When found my heart would scream, It's her!

I'll always love you, this I know
From me this love will never go
Time without you goes so slow
Time without you goes soooo sloooww

Premium Memberwhat is your secret

What is your secret? We asked the lovely new queen.
Create a faerie tale life for yourself, a glorious scene.
But where do we start? What do we do first? I asked her.
Once upon a time is a beginning to which you must quickly defer.
You will want a villain too, and a hero who can save you from them.
And of course always write “happily ever after” in your book, at the end.

Premium MemberWhy

Why
By Miracle Man
5/31/2024

Oft times I hear a child question why?
Then anxiously await a response.
To, why raindrops always fall from the sky,
I stand slack jawed as if in a traunce.

Only God has answers to the question why,
at His prompting only do things occur.
A child might question why birds fly?
To all childish questions I simply defer.

Premium MemberCome Back, My Muse

Late one afternoon,
wind chimes rang a pleasant tune.
Sun would soon defer to moon.

Breeze blew warm and light,
wooing my desire to write.
Imagination took flight.

I wish I could say
I'd penned flowing lines that day.
Dozing chased my muse away!

Premium MemberIf Mama Ain't Happy

"If mama ain't happy, ain't nobody happy" One of my favorite quotes by a man named Ron Hall

If mama ain't happy, ain't nobody happy.
Tell that to each kid and his or her pappy.
Some moms can be weird, but think of all they do,
especially the pain they went through delivering you!

If mama ain't happy, ain't nobody happy..
So even when life might seem a bit crappy,
it's probably worse for your dear mama.
Don't whine and complain, causing more drama.

If mama ain't happy, ain't nobody happy.
Show your own mama that you can be zappy
by eagerly helping her. Be on your toes.
It won't kill you either to even brown-nose.

If mama ain't happy, ain't nobody happy.
On this Mother's Day be a bit sappy.
Respect her. Adore her. To her wisdom defer.
And do for your Mama what most pleases HER!

IT STARTED WITH A BLANK CANVAS

IT STARTED WITH A BLANK CANVAS

Come lay your paint on me, it pleaded
I’m here in this garret, naked and cold
So what could I as a sensitive artist, do
Except comply, dabbing shades of blue
Reaching for indigo, as if I’d been told
Then pausing, to hear what it needed

Canvas relieved it was no longer blank
Stood there proud, and eager for more
As if formally bloodied in its first hunt
And so pleased, I almost heard it grunt
To win this creative battle, if not a war
For every new daub, the muse to thank

Coloured layers, streaks and a smudge
To which even a rainbow might defer
But now an abstract image has its day
It now had a life of its own on display
And for myself, expression is the spur
Unpainted areas still bearing a grudge

Both the brushes and I played our part
The canvas with a coat of many colours
With a final flourish, it is finally signed
And now it seems to have its own mind
It’s access for all, with raised portcullis
Now a painting, perhaps a work of art
