her auburn hair spins out as she flails around the studio
dancing with the largest of the wolves, because she can
wild knows wild, and they are definitely both earth animals
The he-wolf is not the alpha, but a mighty fine dancer
His enormous legs are prancing during this tango

They circle each other with light steps, not making eye contact
Both have amber eyes, his are huge, with deep brown centers
Hers have touches of silver and green in the corners
The audience holds their breath, waiting for the finale
Hoping it will not involve teeth or blood or death

a portrait of a family at a dinner table

Father is dressed in grim face and a white shirt,
His unfriendly face could win the heart of Hitler –
mother combed her hair this time
and her deep brown eyes carries heavy love for her family.
in the painting i am sitting right in front of the grim face
with my eyes bent as if afraid to look
and my sister is dressed in a baby blue dress,
her hair is weaved and her eyes are so sad, so so sad
as if she has just lost her child through stillbirth.
the artist it seems has paid attention to detail in his work
plates are filled with food and glasses are empty of joy,
but it is the discomfort in our hearts that is missing on this painting
the painting and the artist failed to save us,
failed to reveal fear in our hearts with his brushstrokes –

The Universe

How did I get here…?
It was of course no accident
yet I would never willfully do this to myself
nor anyone I love.
I don’t think this feeling has fully sunk in yet.
It’s almost as if I’m watching someone else’s life.
Like I’m looking down into someone else’s universe.
It started out so different.
It was something magical.

………was………

I was swept off my feet.
I felt light enough that the slightest gust of wind
could have carried me away.
I will always remember looking into those deep brown eyes and traveling the depths and wanting to stay there forever.
Why, oh, why couldn’t I just stay there forever?
We were exactly the same
but also completely different.
Our common interests grew fast.
They withered away even faster.
Things change, of course
but how could you?

My love, my life, my universe…

Premium MemberA Poem For Ginger

Ginger was the foster teen I met at the school bus stop
In spite of her burns she was so beautiful and strong
Never forgot her long eyelashes and deep brown eyes
Given by her parents like her severe burns from abuse
Even though she was a joyful spirit and forgiving soul
Resilient enough to love her abuser and persevere

Strawberries

A big, glass bowl of oranges
	with eight pleated butterflies—
		perfectly symmetrical
		etched along the side.
The sunlight, with all the eagerness,
	all the youth of morning
		pouring through
		each glass insect
casts forty intersecting rainbows
	onto the deep brown landscape
		of the dining
                room table.
Your thumb, dragging gently along
the rim, as your tongue moves
		in contemplative circles
                behind	a small smile.

It is always summer in the fields of my memory,
and the strawberries dance ceaselessly toward you.

Premium MemberLost Words

I'm all choked up
my words are lost.
for one more
look at you
I'd sell my soul
and become
a modern day faust.

Your deep brown eyes
pull me into a place,
unlike any I've ever been
and I know I should
leave posthaste then.

But your beauty
blinds me
and I'm surrounded.
I can't resist you
I must admit
this leaves me
quite confounded.

Premium MemberThe Seed

A tiny seed, planted in the muddy ground.
With plentiful sunshine and sparkling water, it grew.
A deep brown trunk, tall and round,
Reaching up to the sky, so bright and blue.

Lots of thick branches it had,
And twinkling green leaves that danced in the breeze.
The tree provided cool, refreshing shade to the lad,
And a safe home for the birds, squirrels, and bees.

A special secret in this tiny, little seed.
Springtime meant dainty flowers of pink and white.
These beautiful flowers blossomed with speed,
And from that seed came apples, red, delicious, and bright.

Premium MemberMy Love Divine Love and My Song-

My Beloved, my love divine,
My heart is yours, and yours is mine.
Your deep brown eyes, they fill me with glee,
Your sweet and caring nature, it sets me free.

Your worship and praise, it fills the air,
It lifts my spirits and takes away my care.
Your faith is strong, your love is true,
Your devotion to God, it shines through.

It was on this earth, where we first met,
And for one year now, our hearts we have kept.
Our love will never cease, our bond will stay strong,
My Beloved, you are my love and my song.

Central Face

I answer to the norm
the strangest decorum
in the Northern Hemisphere
I have a longing to be free

Burning seeds
their husks weep
In valleys of sleep
Two tulips niggardly cling
to the hereafter

Vultures visceral and cruel
Trolls the words of Kings
Jabberwocky on surfeit fleets
Mirrored in the midnight Sun

Teeth chattering
shadows in the midday furnace
interlaced with solemnity
Primal flights of fear
sanguine coloured dreams

Deep brown rocks
we found shelter
The Moon appeared
The Goths in Penguin suits
jaded past the point of no return

First Lettered Love

Can a girl be so in love?
All thoughts revolve around what lies beneath those brown curls
Listening close for any mention of his name
Every chance she gets, she’ll speak of him
Be it his deep brown eyes or the way he makes her feel

Carefully she studies each detail, each crease of his skin
Any thought in his mind or feeling in his heart
Lovely is the word she would use
“Everything about him is just so lovely”
Beyond infinity is how vastly she cares for him

C - the first letter of his name
A name so fond in her heart
Like a bird to her nest
Emily calls him her home
Because no one has ever made her feel so safe

C

E
B

The first person to write of his love to her in letters.

The Furrowed Charm

The melancholic pair of his deep brown eyes, depicts the contusion of his heart,

his stained skin and the deep furrows shows, how viciously he was torn apart. .

The bruise on his feet, the scratches on his palms,

the blood on his sleeves, and his nodding stance,

The moroseness in his stare, the abhorrence for the hues,

an arduous spin of emotions, he connects to few.

Premium MemberBrightest Star

In my life's Darkness I look for direction and there you are
Shimmering ever so brightly my brightest star
I hold you with both arms as your affection burns my soul to a char
Embracing you tightly my brightest star
My affection will surround you like space where ever you are
Holding you gently my brightest star
I look into your deep Brown eyes straight into your core, I am surprised so far
By how much love I feel towards my brightest star
I am so incredibly blessed by the woman that you are
You will forever and always be my brightest star

Premium MemberMy Angel of Mercy

I wake up in a room all white and bright,
I don't remember anything.
All I feel is pain ,
Then she walks in the room,
A woman with a kind smile,
She has the touch of an angel,
And the voice of a saint.
You trust her.
I get lost in her deep brown eyes.
She looks familiar like I know her.
She touches my cheek reassuring,
Me that everything will be ok, I smile.
She tells me they're was an accident.
I mean and I say it hurts.
She gives me a shot that fills,
My body with joy and takes the pain away.
She is my angel as I drift off to sleep.
I'm just waking up as I hear the doctor say,
It will be ok the memory will come back.
I open my eyes and I see her,
I'm glad because I know who she is.
I love her, I feel her love and her sadness.
I wake up saying, Cam.
She runs to my bed smiling,
You remember,
I look at her saying,
Of course I do your the love of my life.
Then I see the tears falling,
And I touch her cheek.

Dedicated to all those loved ones,
In hospitals all over the world,
Not knowing just praying that,
Their loved ones will be ok.

Premium MemberPrecious Moment

your deep brown eyes invade my mind
to light the light that's not confined
as visions there turn round and round
to a depth, no one else has found
as I leave yesterday's behind

into a warmer realm so kind
where all of love's wishes are signed
as passion from your eyes astound
                 your deep brown eyes

these eyes for me are not unkind
they open worlds where I was blind
to feel each breath from love surround
with every sigh from love's soft sound
the love in your eyes bond and bind
                   your deep brown eyes

Premium MemberLines For My Professor

not only a few times
had I sketched
the pattern of your smile
in every swaying leaf
in every waning moonlight
in every wandering clouds
blowing softly to the west

but I ,
I couldn't sketch
the pattern of the wonder
in your deep brown eyes
and the secret sigh
you gently cast away
when you asked me a question
and I answered with conviction

Notes: This poem was one of my earliest poems written in 1994. Written during our " Partnership and Corporation Law" class. My professor was a perfect model for an oil-on-canvas portrait. But instead of sketching him, this poem was born and it was followed by some little poems which where published in our university publication," The Democrat".
