How did I not see this before?
The green of the trees
 with their cornucopia of shades
Layered and punctuated periodically
with a unique dapple of light
Amid the litany of man's failing
 concrete towers
The leafy giants stride imperceptibly
 towards notoriety
Saving the planet
 one gramme at a time
As the humans race past.
The leisurely somnambulants
 biding, stretching, organically
  rooted in their dancing
   to the alternate tune
    of Nature's longevity

Premium MemberSundrops

Sundrops dapple umbrageous trees
strewing uncut diamonds, littering the path
with ambient flickers of what lies beyond.

Sundrops freckle ocean's surface
accenting the ripples that pattern the waves,
nuzzling playful kisses toward the warm beach.

Sundrops seduce the wayward wind
pirouetting with the aphids blissful dance,
a frenzied tarantella across my lips.

Premium MemberGrandeur of Fall

Fall leaves tumble to their slipshod decay,
oozing from the crowns of tedious trees.
A mephitic scrunch with their latter sway,
as they are raked into wide whisking seas.

Coral-hued yew berries grace the yard's path,
late hollyhocks, and sunflowers shine bright.
Marigolds adorn door homes with gold lath,
thorn twigs in crimson holes dapple faxed sight.

As the bounty of nature sparks strange start,
saffron periwinkle countless bright shades.
Giving a boost to the Fall grandeur art;
the hues of oak trees fluctuate by glades.

Topaz leaves stuck in a sapphire whisk breeze;
fall reveals deep facts, a sprint ember squeeze.

Premium MemberOblivion Crave - Anacreontic Verse

Written: December 09, 2023
            ______________________________________

Honeyed gold pearled shades
brown ferns and aspens
into shadowed paths
lit embers and oaks
As darkness draws near,
with bowed tears of stark
runic streaks of light
dapple my sky
showing only maze
of black enigmas
crimson, lucid blaze.
leading to plum sky.

Swift shades drape my thirst
like dim-lit daydreams
that persist through time
niggling at my nerves
in sparkling strings of
stern frame blush skyline!
whilst glum chorus swells
in ghostly darkness.

Gloom morphs darned mayhem
veiled cinereal shroud
as she touches me
gazing with sleek sight
hushed tones, wan relics
of laid skyline bleeds
lost in shades of rouge
Onyx oboe chords.

The blaze has withered
oblivion crave.

On Calvary

On Calvary
Poem
Lionel Derbyshire

Sans devoid and bare
Now and then I stare
Out there feeling bereft
My punctured lung bleeds
Feet wont dare to step
I am nailed so hard
The clouds go dapple drab
The sky emboss so somber
Robber and I either side
I came to fetch many faults..

Sans devoid I bare the load
Whom am I ?
Jesus from God
The saviour Messiah
Who grants salvation
Confined and tied up
The will is done now
My covenant fullfilled
My compromise given
The time has dawned
So you may live.

Sans devoid and bare
I have borne the cross alone
On Calvary
The loaded cross
Of forgiven sins
There will be images
Up a cross
In A world of great devide
No more snakes in wine
My hands and feet
No longer bereft
I thirst

I ascend
I remember you ..
On Calvary
You sin and weep no more.

Beauty Freckles

The freckles that dapple my face
are more than beauty spots,
marks of where barbaric sun
has kissed me
and left a small dot.
When the hours of darkness arrive,
I look up at the freckled sky
and fall in love with the universe.
I wonder what if all the freckles
living on my body
were actually stars,
stars that are muddy imprints of galaxies
that our eyes refuse to focus on!
There were days
when I was young
and they used to loathe the stars on my cheeks,
resembling the night sky
in July.
I would smile and answer back,"when I was born
the gods painted my face with a map of constellations,
and who doesn’t love
looking at the starry sky?”
Now that I’m all grown up, all I know is
a face without freckles is like
a night sky without stars!

Falling V2

Falling in & out of night
flying in & out of ribbons, threads of creation
that fall upon all the eternal emerald seas
Golden lands stretching out before me,

I touch it delicately, softly is the sound of Grace
feeling the gold, setting Sun, a coming of twilight
Silence before the oncoming storm

the ozone
the rain
catching the holy light of a silvery moon,
in carved chalices of ruined blackened stone

rises bright, its ghosts dapple n plays
intricately upon the puddles of passing rain,

feeling in the coming of knight
falling in and out of light,
falling in and out of the silver rays of moonrise,

the grace, eternal, silver planes
the land vast and asleep

I have decreed all I feel as it stretches out before me.
I touch it softly feeling the vibrations of Grace…

As light falls in and out of night
Drifting through these pale fingers…

Premium MemberHarmony

Under the calm umbra of oak trees dome
Spirited dapple light sparks the old home.

Emerald, green blades and spun webs
In lace with morning dew, rhythmical ebbs.

Spreading around natures white daisies
A garden harmony, one with time crazies.

A magic merry-go-round for delighted bumblebees
And butterflies as they are not hard to please.

With a taste of nectar on their lips and the sunshine
In their hearts unseen while they dine.

Time is daunting its wing steps forward,
As it does its rounds sifting shadows onward.

Premium MemberMy Elusive Muse Trixie

Trixie has disappeared, tired of writing mushroom poems I guess.
Come out, I say. I cannot pen missives without her, I confess.
She has left me in a bind, in the dust, in a totally bereft mess.
I will do whatever you want I say, casually meaning more or less.

Trixie pops up long enough to suggest Coleridge, she has nerve!
I am not an Old Master; Trixie is vim, sass, vigor, zing and verve!
Okay, what about Poe? She says, the only thing is, he was a perve.
I pussyfoot around her next suggestion as she rounds a curve.

Trixie is very much in charge of what I do, write or say.
She can make or break me with my words every single day.
I do not know how she got the reigns of my pen so dapple gray.
But she is the one I turn to if I want my words to sway.

So I promise her the moon, rice krispie treats and other gooey things.
She is slapping a tambourine, and deems herself one of the kings.
I give her all the credit, for I have learned lessons the hardest way.
And in order to write poetry I need Trixie my muse back today!

Premium MemberEvening

What person would dare decry
the wonder of sunset's sky.
Before light begins to fade
Sunset's colors on parade!

Crimson, gold, even a pink.
we pause and begin to think
Of Nature's wonder, her gift,
dusting world with golden sift.

Soon dusk spills shadows on field,
nudges mountain top to yield.
Silhouettes of lilac blue
dapple Earth in softest hue.

Sunset abdicates her hold
on a world she turned to gold.
Night arrives in ebon skirt,
and begins her starlit flirt.

Cripple Causing a Ripple

He was born a full cripple,
Who is now causing ripple,
Unleashed shock waves a triple;
Soon to catch some disciple...

As cripple had sucked nipple,
Fed flesh fifty times supple:
'The most blessed cripple'—Sample
Mum's testimonies —Ample...
Of his mother's eyes—Apple
Though on his body Dapple
And the redness of maple...

At twelve could his mates cripple,
Rash harsh orders give people.
"To rupture it is simple:
Quickly take off my pimple!"

Premium MemberLoneliness Echoes Till Sunset

"Has solitude ever led your steps down a forest path . . . "
                                     Quote by_Constance La France

As loneliness echoes till sunset,
From restless dreams beneath forest path,
Spent; to wake in a sheen of sweat.

Past epoch made a new reset,
Awaking longing grief footpath,
As loneliness echoes till sunset.

Foliage hues fade and all forget,
With each step, deep amber earth hath
Spent; to wake in a sheen of sweat.

Wands of pine sway to the taste of wet
Chilly nights soulful aftermath
As loneliness echoes till sunset.

Nature distant calls once obscure, met,
Bleakness fades with unprovoked wrath,
Spent; to wake in a sheen of sweat.

Nostalgia's dapple scent is let
Along the river flow towpath,
As loneliness echoes till sunset
Spent; to wake in a sheen of sweat.

Premium MemberOnce a Spring Breath

Dapple, broken rainbow upon my heart,
A light within and existential angst.
Once a spring breath that danced, now falls apart.
Dapple, broken rainbow upon my heart,
A moment of you captured in my art.
Hours move forth, you fade away, with much angst.
Dapple, broken rainbow upon my heart,
A light within and existential angst.
