Premium MemberFinishers

They have no complaints, excuses. or regrets
They give it all to achieve their quest

They go beyond the 7th inning stretch
Refusing to stall but to do their best

They never quit before the last 12 gruesome minutes
They never pause before the last 15 gruling minutes

They know that a well done life is alive and well until the finish
They realize that life is to be enjoyed like your favorite sport

They reserved no energy for tomorrow's game,
Realizing that today is the day to leave it all on the court

Finishers believe in being more than a starter,
Finishers believe in enduring the 4th quarter

Premium MemberOur Games Define Us

Our games define us, who we are
by which ones are most popular

First comes football, all blood and gore*
#1 with those who long for war

Then there's basketball, the 'city game'
for ghetto-dwellers, a path to fame

  Last and least, poor tennis
    long the 'gentleman's game'

  Of late reduced to barbarism
grunts and shouts ~ through a racial prism

The Horse

The Horse.

A horse gives joy to everyone,
By those that ride them just for fun.

There are others that race them, a quarter mile,
and those that do it Kentucky style.

We also see them trot and pace,
and teams with wagons, that love to race.

They are also quick to run a steer,
and buck a cowboy without any fear.

We see them jump a fence and wall,
and play the sport of Polo, with a mallet and ball.

Their elegance and rhythm we admire,
with a magical movement, they inspire.

They will control an unruly crowd,
that often becomes offensive, and very loud.

They are also used for ceremonial events, to honor Dignitaries past and present,
they are more than a sport for Kings, but are a challenge for others, to achieve many things.

Oh, joy, the magic, potion is here?
To be injected into the arm, not my
derrière.

I am no fool to buy eternal life swishing
in a needle via a potion.
This is not a magical health revolution.

I'd rather die, by God's voice.
No Big Brothers demanding I have no choice.

Like worms is a fresh apple they've taken
freedoms away.
Do you think I will stand here and say, O.K.?

With masks I can take no more.
And no, in front of this face, I will never sport a
plastic door!!

No,you may not tell me with  whom I might dine,
nor fine me,
Because my lfe belongs to God, the Divine.

Johns Hopkins published the truth.
That paper was pulled offline forsooth!

You do as you so choose.
I am not one who will sing the vaccine blues

Oh, joy, the magic, potion is here!
To be injected in the arm, not my
derrière!

I am no fool to buy like eternal swishing via a potion.
This is sone magical health revolution.

I'd rather die, by God's voice.
Nor Big Brothers demanding choice.

Like worms is a fresh apple they've taken freedoms away.
People hide and are depressed
and their emotions sway.

With masks I can take no more...
And no, in front of this face, I will
not sport a plastic door.!

No,you may not tell me with whom
I might dine,
Nor fine me, because my life is mine!

Stand up for your freedoms, stop
being fool's fear ghoul .
Fear of the virus is their the politicos' main pain political tools.

Rise up nations, make your case.
You are about to have all freedoms erased!

Premium MemberMy View On a Poet's Duty

My personal view of MY own poet’s duty
is to write for folk who are not too snooty

Poetry ‘experts’ may look down their nose
at the simple poetry that I compose

When I read a poem I don’t want to wallow
in archaic language that’s hard to swallow

I like lively lines not stuff that’s boring
want to enjoy reading and not start snoring

I don’t often write about sport or politics
But I may write of ‘Ron Dump’s’ latest tricks

I just cannot write a romantic sonnet
as love poems make me want to vomit

I could write about the birds and bees
and pretty flowers and wind in the trees

But many other poets write similar words
so I buck the trend and I write about turds

I guess I’ve developed quite a quirky style
but my overall aim is to make people smile

What’s right for others may not suit me
but we can unite by writing our poetry!

So who am I to say what’s wrong or right
if you get an idea then write, just write!

A Fantasy Plan

If I ruled the whole world,
I would have Covid hurled

From all the four continents
And boost our own confidence,

And pack the leading politicos,
Who sat polishing their toes,

To an asylum to count stars
And sling their hearts at Mars;

I'd sit with you in my royal court
And have fun of their frantic sport.

Then I would gather all money
And give equally to each bunny,

And command all men to learn
To refine love in a poetry firm,

To spray love on withering plants,
And duly attend to innocent ants.

Finally, I'd crown my starry girl
And cradle her as a divine pearl.

Elation of Soul

The discomfort of dear soul
Wants elation and manic goal
Intoxication's sport on smokers' spot
Fascinating aromas and Jack Daniels' blot

Strolling out by getting drunk
In your charm I have sunk
A distant melody makes me tremble
In snowy woods my senses assemble

Blizzard transforming the species alike
All wild passions abruptly arrive
Want of Marlboro fades away
Amazed, I throw Dunhill and sway.

FIFA To Me

If this be the nineteen sixties,
A new state that is, Hawaii.

What know we, of soccer to be,
Ice skating, where it is sunny?

Neither sport was known to us all,
But football, baseball, basketball.

This query poised to me this day,
With presence of mind, hear I say,

Of what I know, throughout my life,
Of what interest will it incite,

Where none had existed before,
Granted, it opens a new door,

But, late in my life, friends and
Family are more important,

That sparks a want within my heart,
Equal with those, who takes in part,

This twenty nineteen FIFA Cup,
Be it Women or Men gears up,

Nay, ghostly vagueness touch my heart,
So to this, I will not take part.

Chocolate

Chocolate

Chocolate? That's not a sport!
Do flavours not compete I retort

But it's not a game you play!
Which one to eat I say

The Gold Medal

No No! He said but twice in his life
It took him away from place of strife.

I ran around the field searching
For him who understood what I had been saying.

Be had had ended his journey at the very top
The icy cold place which in past had him stop.

Challenge is compelling in sport
Most fall in their journey to one spot.

Reconcile in peace cast in Gold
Search on for there isn't just one truth.

In control, in withdrawl and inner silence
There lurks a fountain source of guidance.

Make a mirror of this substance
Look in it for energy for your existence.

Life is precious but living is its consequence
You can, with just a mirror of reverence.

Low Expectations

Some wish to be
A sport Pro

Others would like
To be a hero

While I…
I'll have youknow

Aspire to be no more
Than a humble Placebo

Sad Time Goodbye

12:am I cried deeply in vein, the ending to my fun times of with you cause extreme pain.
1:am your soft lips met up with mine, bringing back enjoyable memories to me which was given cause I was always yours/the first and only one in line.
2:am more tears ran down my broken hearted face, one continuous wet day in a sadly place.
3:am the taxi came and took us to the airport, a period in life I wish was not for real but a laugh in sport.
4:am I was given my last hug underneath the bright moon, a special type of love which went way too soon.
5:am my flight began to board, it felt like my heart was being repeatedly pierce by a sword.
6:am a thought ran through my mind of us really being meant to be, then I said “if so I know God will for surely keep us together making you the right man for me”.

Harlem Globetrotters
most famous trotters
clowns of the court
and best of sport
watching the game
never the same
performers they are
they really gone far

Short Cut

Many wear Lycra as clothing for sweaty display and for fashion
yet in this post-modern world I sport retro with ultimate passion

No need to retrieve my gear from nostalgic attics of long lost time
running for fitness and pleasure stems from old fashioned paradigm

Healthy mind in healthy body do not require micro fibre bubbles
no sports bra for man boobs no logos when jumping through puddles

‘Just do it’ I posit life is no stage no statement but rather for fun
my ragged torn shorts will suffice please admire my legs and my run

Ideally I wished to naturally perspire and perform in the nude
but I guess despite my glorious curves some might consider it rude

When exhaustion sets in and my muscles and mind are on fire
I settle for what’s in the dresser and not how some judge my attire
