Our Games Define Us

Our games define us, who we are
by which ones are most popular

First comes football, all blood and gore*
#1 with those who long for war

Then there's basketball, the 'city game'
for ghetto-dwellers, a path to fame

  Last and least, poor tennis
    long the 'gentleman's game'

  Of late reduced to barbarism
grunts and shouts ~ through a racial prism

Well done so true. Playing games as the time of our life runs out... sand in the glass. Few can see what is going on. Men taking the prize and glory away from true women. Others that will not stand for our flag... ? Prayers for our country. Well written... Ann

'Snake and Ladder?!' That sounds hilarious, but I'm sure it's a fine game. ... My best game is 'Urine the Money.' ~ Mellow-Yellow

And many more, my friend. There's some truth to that saying ... By their games you will know them. Thanks for sharing your poetic talent with us, Gershon. A poet friend in Texas, Bill

I’d rather choose card or board games :)
