Pie-Faced

I've oft been offered but not tempted by
large helpings of pie in the sky
from too many crooks
who indeed the broth did spoil
and so as not to be sullied
by such greasy oil
I stay out of their kitchen
not because I can't stand the heat
but what's on their menu
ain't my cup of meat
apple or cherry by the slice
with a tasty pastry crust
is not a must but very nice
my absolute fave fit for a King
with taters on top of thee I sing
made with lamb
not beef that's cottage
and personal wish
as the name does imply
is a dainty dish
of homemade shepherd's pie

Premium Member French Cottage

I'll always hold this dream with you
A chalet by a lake, us two
A long time spent exploring France
From minute one it's all romance
Will it happen? I don't know
But if it does then off we'll go
I'm saving up to pay the way
So I'll be ready for that day

Premium Member Faith's Cozy Cottage

     Faith’s cozy cottage
       lies deep in the woods

     Beckons trembling hearts
       to partake of her Goods

     Allays palpitations
       assuages all fears

As she calms, as she tames
       fresh rivers of tears

Premium Member This is cottage life

warm cup in hand i take stock
as the cool air caresses my face
the smells of dawn comingle
the lake ever so still with
sounds of nature waking up

there's nothing more precious
than this moment and
the sense of awe i feel

i am undeniably blessed

Premium Member A Cottage Garden

When yellow crocus wake to welcome day
Beneath the trees a splash of glowing gold
And purple primrose cast a rich display
While honeysuckle vines uncurl, unfold
For me, I know no more a wondrous thing
Than a cottage garden in early spring

Lovely Cottage

Lovely cottage
Once full, once love
Standing lonely.

Curate, restored
Back in full bloom
Ready for use.

Lovely people
Come, enter in
Stay, enjoy.

Once in your life
Stay awhile
Embrace rural.

Premium Member Cottage Cheese

I've just realized
cottage cheese
is not cheese.
I'm surprised!

I shouldn't be shocked
but, you see,
it's really just
a curd to me!

Cottage By The Sea

In her younger years she loved the bright
and bustling nights in New York City
They made her feel so wild and free
To her they looked stunningly pretty

These days though,
she’s getting old,
she’s pushing 93,

& her new idea of paradise
is a quiet beautiful cottage
by the sea

Premium Member The Lakeside Cottage

Picture # 4 used as inspiration

At our lakeside cottage where we have pottage at night
When autumn comes and russet mums' blossoms daze
Go to bed early, nothing to dread and wake by sun's light

As the sun sets there's no regrets just joy at summer's end
Fall wears her gown, her trees a crown as sun sends angular rays
All of those glorious colors and arboreous reflections seem to blend

Upon the lake beside our cottage , no place we've tried above it does rise
Our golden lab lying asleep, as nights slowly creep upon days
We peacefully rest, and feel so blessed as sleep softly creeps with surprise

Premium Member How cottage cheese was created

The cow took a chance, pirouetted and pranced
to the ancient tune..
Her body sagged and one foot snagged and she
tripped on the tip of the moon..
Farmers found her at the trough.
Dogs danced in circles,
Roosters meowed.
Crows began cawing at quarter to five.
The locals were astounded the cow had survived..
The people now swear she has special powers.
A farmer sells her cottage cheese as most
her milk has soured.

Clothesline of Joy

At the end of another summer day
Rainbow of deflated asses crotches and breasts strung along our deck railing
Flail like a Tibetan prayer flag
Under the smoky umbrella of burgers and brats
Grilling for dinner

Souls adrift from their left behind soaked skin
The sleeves and pantlegs re-begin

Arms and legs jog in place
In the cool lungs of a dry evening breeze

Moon sheen of shoulders and knees

Minutes before dawn
Creased pressed and ready for a new day
They kick and whisper rearrange themselves by order
A titter of
Generations past present and future

Here the people come!
Grandpa and grandma moms and dads sisters brothers
An army of kids teenagers to toddlers

Hurray! One by one
Like rays sprung from the sun
Once again

Off
The dried suits are plucked
Hot bodies slip back into place

Here we go
Body and soul
Made whole for another summer day
Of swimming.

Premium Member The Cottage

Message me sometime some night
Tell me all will be alright
That waiting will not be for naught
That someday we will tie the knot
See that cottage over there?
It's ours the day that we're a pair
Quaintly boho, modern style
Anything to make you smile

Premium Member NOELLE COTTAGE MAINE

Noelle Cottage straddles ledges of grey,
Extending into waters of Casio Bay,
Along Small Point’s shoreline of Atlantic Ocean,
Observing forest, sky, and ocean devotion.

Feathered fliers: Osprey, Sea Gull, and Eagle,
Their diet all favorites and everything legal,
   Overhead wing-singing their various tunes,
Hunt above beaches near sandy, beige dunes.

Noelle Cottage awaits - at the end of Shore Road
   Where sea-salty breezes generally flow,
Among acres of Fir, Birch, Maple, and Pine,
Awakening fond memories obscure in time.

Life by the sea is always a challenge.
Happiness there’s a joyous challenge to manage.

Premium Member gardenia cottage is selective

Gardenia cottage is unseen by most
Built by a mushroom finger hut ghost
Deep in the blue forest, only seen by a few
She only shows herself when she thinks you are true

Premium Member Sunset Cottage

If there was a way
To live inside a sunset
I'd build a little cottage made for two

I'd call you when it's ready
Lift you at the doorstep
Then carry you in my arms and bring you through

The rooms adorned with orchids
The scent inside of lilacs
The colors of a sunset would abound

Your face a glowing candle
I'd keep it lit forever
Illuminated beauty would surround

My watch no longer needed
All care of time depleted
There's only you and your unending glow

To keep me right before you
Allowed now to adore you
For finally then my love could freely flow
