I was never part of a family
never on a team
never felt comradery
No one ever stood up for me
people bullied me
I was alone
Poor me
Poor me
Poor poor me
She held a pity party for herself daily
In the lunchroom at work
ruining lunch for the rest of us
All cheer and jollity are extinguished when she enters
poor her, poor her, poor poor poor whiney her
We started eating at our desks

Don’t!
Don’t put your thoughts on paper
Don’t dare to think out loud
Don’t express on social media
Don’t put them up in cloud
Don’t criticize the useless
Don’t voice a point of view
Don’t flex your vocal cord
Don’t think you’re immune
Six burly officers are coming
Because of something you said
They crash the door early morning
And they’ll tear you from your bed
They’ll whisk you down the bridewell
Slam you in a six foot by eight
The CID will make you confess
About all the things that you hate
You can shop lift for a past time
Carry a machete along the road
Threaten cut all white throats
And never do as your told
Keep your gob shut firm and tight
Take the pen and put it down
Don’t tweet early morn or late night
Decent is only for a clown.

But there's one thing I know
The blues they send to meet me
Won't defeat me, it won't be long
Till happiness steps up to greet me
…
But that doesn't mean my eyes will soon be turning red
Crying's not for me
'Cause I'm never gonna stop the rain by complaining
Because I'm free
Nothing's worrying me
Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head
By BJ Thomas
Hope
Raindrops fall on all of us
whether we want them to or not.
There isn’t a blessed thing
we can do about it.
We can complain, but
no one listens anyway.
So, the best we can do,
is not cry about them.
We just have to not let them
defeat us. The sun will come out
again, the raindrops will stop and
the blues will go away.

Why bother with stress
When you can have some eustress
Aside from the distress
Green and purple now
Sick and envious again
Somehow, took a vow
I’m jaded…alone
Blame me for everything please…
I dare you so, bro!
And they complain now?
Oh wow, oh my, so sorry
Sarcasm on tongue

If sick of self your own, whom to complain,
In crowd if feel alone, whom to complain.
The world has too far gone, whom to complain,
If all have-- yon of yon, whom to complain.
If we’ve evil seeds sown, whom to complain,
Stripped all Earth bare to bone, whom to complain.
As witness our walls moan, whom to complain,
The why if we’ve not known, whom to complain.
Not much can now be done, none to complain,
Save, in despair to drown, not a complain.

Ghazal |26.09.2024|complain
Poet’s note: A typical Ghazal’s first sher or couplet is known as matlaa. Both the lines share a rhyme (kaafia) and refrain (radeef). In this Ghazal all the ten lines (called misraa) of five couplets repeat the refrain, ‘whom to complain’ as radeef. None of my Ghazals have a maktaa or pen name in the last couplet or sher.

Don't ever complain
Your parents could not give you
That's all that they have.

It must be the Christmas holidays planes are grounded again
This time of year presents itself as Groundhog Day, not a question of it but when
The airlines have used every excuse as to why they can't fly
Why don't they come clean, we know the reason why
There is no doubt the skies are closed to allow Santa to test drive a sled
I am sure nobody would complain if this was the story we were fed
The weather office reports a severe storm nearby
The chances of making it home for Christmas are not very good, I think I am going to cry
Not going to give up hope maybe a miracle awaits
An announcement everyone was hoping to hear, flights are resuming the storm starts to abate
The roller coaster ride has finally come to an end
It, 's time to make up with the airlines and call them my friend

Why can't they fix the roof that is leaking onto me
How about the gutters full of holes for all to see
My windows no one can see out of,I wish a real estate agent could find me new buyers
When people ring my doorbell I cannot hear it because it doesn't work
But when I complain they say I am being a jerk
Robbers enjoy visiting me, the locks on the doors don't exist
The family for some reason blames me when I am unable to resist
The holes in the floors need fixing, something you better not ignore
I am sure the day will come when somebody will fall through, shaking me to my core
It would be nice if someone could take better care of me
If I was to be fixed up I might last for eternity

I will conjecture
And give you a lecture
Is it better to complain?
Or preferably explain?
Should I talk you through it?
Or just tell you to do it?
If you listened first time round
Ranting words won't compound
I give you a tongue lashing
A noisy ear bashing
But you still don't hear me say
"JUST PUT IT AWAY"
So do it right first
And your bubble I won't burst
And I will not conjecture
Or give you a lecture.
PLEASE

Do you ever get upset?
do you ever fight?
do you say bad words?
do you ever lie?
is there anything wrong with you?
cuz I cannot find
something to complain about
except that you are no mine.

It's hot, sweaty and sticky,
A cat just finds a shady place and they are not to picky.
When it's cold we always complain,
When it's hot we just do the same.
But at least when it's cold you can cover up and keep warm,
But in the heat you have to be careful it does not do you harm.
The relief from the heat usually comes in a sharp electrical storm,
The hopefully the temperature will return to the norm.
The storm comes with fat drops of rain,
Then we can look out and begin complaining again.

It's hard to explain why we complain
In any work together we do.
Each of means by "we" the same;
I mean "I" and you mean me , too!
