The Last Poets
“When the revolution comes,”
Politicians whispered sweet lies,
promising dreams that were never theirs,
while streets echoed with dreams denied,
and voices drowned in blood-stained hope.
Economies built on the backs of the weak,
wealth for the few, while many stayed silent,
coins of gold pooled, but hearts went cold,
hands reached out but never united.
The Last Poets rhymes like Hymns
echoing in alleys,
fingers snap,
feet tap,
words meet the pulse,
the Congo thump lifts hearts,
raw and real,
hip-hop’s roots grow deep—
But what has changed,
in this swirling maze?
Do we still speak the truth,
shout over sirens,
dream beyond the neon flash,
with wide eyes,
still fighting, still asking,
for justice in our sound,
each voice a note,
every story a song?

Autumn Comes

Summers sun is setting,
The twilight a held breath,
Excitement for the season of change,
To see everything in a warm haze.

But I, as many,
Have persuaded myself -
Talked myself into thinking
Every year.

When the leaves change, and plants die
When wardrobes change, and winds sigh
We see change so close
We think that everyone's experience
Aligns.

What a joke -
My fall, warm glow.
My Autumn is welcome,
Another's, pure woe.

I have lived through trauma,
But so has the world,
My Autumn is shallow,
Another perspective, absurd.

So, as the season begins,
I finally sit and reflect.

I crave the knowledge
Of how the world lives this season.
Do they all see the beauty,
Or hold hate beyond reason.

We should all take a breath
As Summer finishes it's act,
And remember only the mirror
Has your experience, exact.

Premium Member When Tomorrow Comes

When tomorrow comes,
let not fear be your friend.
Take every step forward
where the road never ends.

Leave all of yesterday's pain
at a place beyond the dust.
Put your faith in God,
because He knows you suffered enough.

Even when you think you're hurt
and can't go on,
reach deep within your heart
for the strength to be strong.

Because your family will be the light
that will help carry you through,
somewhere deep in your heart,
you know our love is true.

Remember, we'll stand behind you
and always have your back.
Even when your faith is damaged,
we will guide you back on track.

So continue to keep your head up;
don't let the weight hold you down.
In the end, you're going to be okay,
because the strength you thought was lost
has now just been found.

WHEN TRUTH COMES TO ABIDE

She is called by appointment
Not by device of man
She travels in spirit
Any way she can

No one knows the day or hour
When the soul stands in presence
Court is moving in session
Weighing submission to essence

As patterns emerge and dance
As though the party is eternal
TRUTH sees the fear without judgement
And LOVE weighs loosh around the supernal

Response is without matter
And happens according to heart
If the soul stands against LOVE
Grace is lifted and Karmic law does it's part

...to deliver seed

Premium Member When your time comes

When your time comes, will you look death straight in the eye
Will you refuse to go quietly, curse and refuse to die

When the time comes will you cry out and let the tears flow
Will you accept your time has come and it is your time to go

When your time comes, would you prefer to be in hospital or at home
Do you want to be surrounded by strangers, or would you want to die alone

When your time comes, would you want it to be fast or slow
Would you keep it to yourself or want everyone to know

When your time comes, would you want to say goodbye
Or say nothing to loved ones because you don’t want to make them cry

When the time comes and you know that is your fate
Make the most of your life now because death will not wait

With great power comes great responsibility

"With great Power comes great Responsibility"
What is power? What is a responsibility?
I ask these questions daily.
Is power a synonym? For Rich or Witch?
Or is a whole nother thing which we cant just seem to itch?

If people with powers have responsibilities why don't they serve them?
when they come across people of the less they just kick and ignore them.

"- great responsibilty " is true I must say that
But how come the people with POWER have to have that?

Trusted people, who are loyal and kind. but because they have a different skin just makes then "one of you're kind!"
The kind should have the power not the rich or poor.
its the LAND OF THE FREE so why can't we do more!

The people with power abuse it greatly, so is that why everywhere is a danger lately?
Im young and responsible but I have no power.
But the old man with money has a pool, workers, and loads of POWER!

If great power gives you great responsibilities,
how come the people with power cause nothing but great hostilities

"With great power comes great responsibilty" was what a very wise man once said.

Maybe the rich need to get that in there f----ing head.

The Magic Paintbrush

Mia found a magical
paintbrush that could make
anything she painted come
alive.
She painted a cheerful
butterfly that fluttered right
off the paper.
They spent the whole sunny
afternoon chasing colorful
rainbows across the
meadow.

We Don't Know What Comes Next

Naked branches prick the sky
The sky is so blue,
The clouds become so shy
Today and yesterday were the same,
Locked in, cooked, Unallowed.
We wait, wait and wait
For the ground to cool, the flowers in bloom,
The sun to dissipate when gloom
Passing through one more cycle.
Until it reaches out to the moon
Waiting for the pansies and daffodils to grow,
Knowing it will happen soon
This leaves my mouth feeling numb.
The leaves on the ground a dry brownish mush
But soon.
Soon.
We wait.

Premium Member Life Comes With Broken Promises

"What I have Learned about Broken Promises is Priceless." By Poet

As a young child,
friends would make a promise.
They would break their word,
followed by hurt.
The dating world was famous for this trick,
as boys loved to break their promise.
Did it make them feel powerful?
Maybe!
My dad was a very wise person,
he never made many promises.
Guess he knew the pain hiding behind words,
words that were unkept are friends with lies.
He would say,
we will see or maybe.
I knew if he had made me a promise,
it was guaranteed to be done.
So glad this lesson was learned as a child,
thanks dad.

Patters appear among the priests people
and leaders, Isaiah chapter 30 v 10
is anything new under the sun.?
I see authenticity, of the same

As proof of spirtual

Premium Member Morning Comes and Quickly Goes

Taking the dog out for a short walk
On the ground and in trees birds I spy
All the time to God my Savior talk

Then the mockingbird called from the tree
A crow's caw was his short, sweet white lie
As morn's dew clung to spider's web free.

I then was 'neath oak's shadows that sway
Morn's light spread damp dew's diamonds awry
Daylight has awakened, thanked God, prays

As those clouds drift 'pon summer morn's start
Barn swallows weave patterns in the sky
Those bees 'mong purple cone flowers dart

Now a whip-poor-will sings light away
Thinking of you my eyes tear, I sigh
Then clear sunset ends another day

I'm thankful for these precious moments,
Each step that I take before I die
Sunshine, rain, surviving these last months

Premium Member Comes the midnight hour

I wander and wander about.
I'm too tired to go to bed.
Distracted at every possible opportunity.

When That Incredible Moment Comes

When that incredible moment comes
fate has already changed its harsh rule,
fate is being kind for unknown reasons;
we find this event exciting and cool.

Don't be surprised the perfect moment comes,
and take us to a dreamy state at nightide;
we feel the heartbeat, we feel the passion inside;
it raises the blood flow to a level of madness.

When that incredible moment comes
is unknown, let's hold your breath and wait;
out of nowhere, a sensation will exicte us ;
it will change all, even mood and insight!

To total strangers, this is an unexpected vibe,
doesn't it feel great? Don't we feel alive?
There's an urge to touch, a desire to kiss,
let this sudden craving be a rush of eargness.

We spent nights staring at a sky full of stars,
wishing for a voice to break the dull silence;
we would be thrilled to hear it as if it were a symphony:
wouldn't we surprised that it happened unexpectedly?

When that perfect moment happens
catch it immediately, or it will vanish;
go back to planning, connect the dots,
each lovely glance is a thrill to cherish.

Premium Member When Fall Comes

When fall comes the perennials change, then die
Usually, a frost comes then the tops turn brown
All seems lost for soon even the ground seems gone
Frozen, hard, some even three feet apply
When a farmer drops a seed in the soil,
And earth warms after nice spring rain comes down
That seed will be drawn to come forth one dawn
For it's design by God, devil won't foil
It pushes on

finis'
