Peace Comes To The Valley

The sun a golden glow
The wind began to blow
Rain a blessing for all
Summer changed into fall

Seeing the moon was blue
The change would come we knew
Trees will gently mellow
Their leaves turning yellow

Enemies will unite
No longer will they fight
Tom will marry Sally
Peace comes to the valley

When the Time Comes

Hope that at the end
I’ve not left anything on the table
that all was said and done

When Twilight Comes

When twilight comes,
be morn or eve,
a time when cares 
and fears take leave,
when the sun arises,
when the sun does set,
when the trials of the world
have not come yet,
nor will they you beset,
when ferns and flowers
are tender with dew,
when dreams 
that you've dreamt
become alive and new,
when the stir of a breeze
and a rustle in the trees
become

When It Comes To Love

This problem in humans always seems to vary
Like a game of chess the movements are scary
Calla lilies given to a queen of hearts to mend
Bishops followed by knights pictures the men
Players like to steal hearts with a crooked smile
For a queen to know hes a joker may take a while

Love’s goodness first comes to mind,
As oft disgust comes to mind.

Its loveliness comes to mind,
How gets to rust comes to mind.

How can love’s soft and sweet breeze
Turn into gust comes to mind.

How, what looks like love profound
Turns to sheer lust comes to mind.

And how, what seems mundane most,
Turns trust robust comes to mind.

     Mankind comes in divers colors
       Each color, in multiple shades

Morning Comes to Huatung Valley

Mist feathery drifts
last night’s breath loosening
above basalt slopes of Huatung

Pacific swallows trace morning brushwork
over Fuli’s rice paddies
new green scented with rain.

Xiuguluan River flows jade mountain-born 
among ancestral stones
white willows in Ruisui weep
dew-kissed
cycad fronds catching first sunlight

Leaf pearls gather on my thatched sandals

Twirling her fairy skirt,
   a lace and pearl dessert.

She Comes and Goes with Your Tides

Some have watched her rising
from an ocean of time.
Her sightings return at the pull
of each luna cycle.

No clamshell boats for her,
after she rises from the waves
she and the shoreline disappear
she's only to be seen driving a classic
Chevy convertible or riding
a gayly adorned donkey.

She is sister to desert nights,
and all the dance moves
of the free roaming

The Meadow Comes Alive

The meadow comes alive, dressed in colors,
remembering times when love was newly sweet,
with warm red sunsets embracing lovers
whispering old secrets without conceit,

while daisies dance in the balmy breezes,
and bluebells sing their gladsome summer songs;
wild grass beneath the lovers boldly teases 
now or never, love must win before the dawn

No One Comes Looking

I was eight years old the first time I realized,  
no one was coming to save me.  
That I could scream ,
until my throat bled raw,  
cry until my eyes swelled shut,
