Premium Member The Unicorn Rescuerer

Unicorn rescuer floated by and fell off wings of a dove
I was amazed at her prowess, she came from high above
Why do the unicorns gravitate to you? Some asked the girl.
I have no idea she said, but her lip was not in a churl.

One of those open young women with love in her heart.
She gives everyone a piece of herself, an empathetic part.
How many unicorn rescuers are there in fantasy land?
Just one, but she is the best, you will soon understand.

Premium Member Holiday Branch

A branch awaits the carolling.
The choir, each limb afire with song.
The cold and bare kindled with snow.
   A branch awaits.

A branch awaits the spring of feet -
the twang of movement, soft or strong.
The strum of warmth, the beat of chirps -
   a branch awaits.

A branch awaits the tango’s churl -
the gathering of more than one.
Will there be tolerance or not?
   A branch awaits

the carolling, the spring of feet,
the gathering of more than one.
Narrow or wide,
   a branch awaits.

Premium Member Portfolio

I look at my portfolio;
It makes me want to hurl.
For one day, all is calm and fine;
The swine then eats the pearl!
I do not mean to sound complaint
Like some great oafish churl,
But ups and downs like these of late?
My stomach flops and twirls.
I think that I may now know why;
I’m going to take a whirl:
The market tracks the hormones of
A thirteen-year-old girl!

Life's My Oyster

Aware that the Goldilocks Zone is an area of habitable space a planet is from a star, this Monotetra poem resulted from my first thought...thinking with the mind of this fairytale miss.

I don't like to whine or complain
but sometimes I am quite inane.
When feeling lost, I can't remain
Totally sane totally sane

The day's too hot; the night's too cold
I try real hard to stay controlled
but life seized me when I got old
a stranglehold a stranglehold

Husband said I've become a grouch
He's a caveman. To that I'll vouch
because he broke both bed and couch
Walks with a slouch walks with a slouch

I cooked a roast; he wanted steak
His loud snoring keeps me awake
That ol' bear gives me a headache
I need a break I need a break

One day soon, I'll leave that lout
Wear a smile instead of a pout
Sleep in my bed and throw him out
Without a doubt without a doubt

I will not be his 'Goldi Girl'
That Neanderthal is a churl
Life's my oyster with sand to swirl
I'll be a pearl I'll be a pearl

Pen Meet Paper

What in the ink whorl is papièr churl going on?

Ill quill vapors are trying to victimize me,
vex prose don’t belong
Word saber player haters trying to stick it to me,
throwing cursive stones
Their coarse paper tone is so digital angry

Blog blots got their writes all wrong
Sore spots ... ink stains
Rotted crease stroke brains
always wanna bring paper cut pain

Plenty briquettes blurt-y wanna dance dirty,
a-many ugly exchanges ain’t squid spit purty

If coal paper meet a diamond pen,
Crush Groove is gonna tango win

Counterfeit clone muse
using plagiarist, copy printer tools
Blank scroll troll fools
didn’t learn Poetry Slam old school

Any lip ink unwell with a lying spiel,
gets the clean-up Truth erasure deal

Epithet tongues liquor epitaph envelopes,
gin up troublesome, scarlet letter tropes

But when this Iron Will pen
meet their forged paper
Pallbearer finger caper
gonna press an eulogy send

Writ smack weakies think they’re grit summon strong!

Golden Roses

Golden Roses

...to one who has faith, no explanation is necessary...to one without faith, no explanation is possible...Thomas Aquinas.

Roses side by side where the grotto stood
A golden garden not seen by their eyes
Bernadette could see as she gathered wood
Kneeling upon hearing of heaven’s cries

A Lady did appear in rose bush wild
A seraphic voice with no deception
With a white dress and girdle gently smiled
‘I am the Immaculate Conception’

For the town of Lourdes was quick to demean
Sadly scoffed as the poorest peasant girl
She dug a hole and a well would canteen
To make believers of the crippled churl

Bernadette let your song of roses hum
Upon this let processions hither come.

Love that is wise waits to unfurl,
the Grand Exchequer guarding pearls
that fools would fain throw before swine.
The fond endearments that are mine
would be to you a parrot's song,
words where the melody is wrong,
unless your heart has ears to hear.

Love that is pure demands a cost
else Paradise be freshly lost
and downward plunge toward the abyss.
There is no agony like this
when thirst can never quenched be
and torment knows no remedy;
when innocence has kissed the churl
and swine have gobbled up the pearls.

High winds churl, howling
calling forth their minions
open wide the gates
the battle will be long, fierce!
through the mountains, hills and vales

The Oyster Girl

THE OYSTER GIRL

I wonder if you know my girl

To me she is my oyster pearl

She has my heart all in a whirl

Her name I will not tell

Though you may pay me, churl or earl,

My secret I’ll not sell

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .. .

The ghetto's, estates
Of this corporate world
The profits they make
Stomach's churl

Posh offices
Limousine rides
They take each day
In their strides

Weapons are sold
To kill our troops
Friendly fire
Technology scoop

Bankers bonus's
Like third world debt
In boardroom discussions
All preset

Fuel prices
Electricity
Can be taken from nature
Greed's simplicity

Then there came a day
It was their fantasy no more
Countries in turmoil
Financial war

From out of this world
To save the new born
Our future
Saved by Angels and Unicorns
