When you’re choosing what to wear today…
choose a smile…in whatever you happen to do
because not only is a smile always in style…
it looks so beautiful on you too.
He didn't choose to have it in the first place
Why would he be so mean to keep it.
Just like he got it
Someday he's gonna loose it
Just like he didn't choose to have it
Loosing it definitely won't be his choice
There's alot he doesn't know about it
So who is he to think he owns it all
excitement…
anticipation…
or cold sweat
Would you still choose me?
I’m so “this” and I’m so “that,” but I’m never anyone’s favorite or their first choice.
Platonically and romantically, I’m nobody’s person, but somehow any and everyone can be that for me.
I’m always just there. I’m physically present but mentally absent from everyone’s mind.
why?
I thought I was “funny”, and I thought I was “cool to be around,” what happened?
Was I only those things because your real friends weren’t around at the moment?
I thought I was “so pretty”, and I thought you “missed” me, and I thought you “liked” me.
Was I only those things because you didn’t see the other girl yet?
Is it because you can see her whenever you want to? Is it because her mother isn’t “strict”?
Is it because she seems more mature?
Is it because she’s older?
WHAT IS IT?
Why is it never me?
Why even bother to talk to me?
I don’t understand.
I just want to be understood, and not just for the moment.
Don’t choose me when you get bored or have nobody else.
Look for me in a crowded room because you WANT to, not because your other homegirl isn’t there.
So, my question is, would you still choose me?
I choose joy
not once a week
every day
I choose me
by painting
cartooning and writing poetry
I choose to uplift and applaud others
through poetry sites, and phone calls
I choose positivity and action
I choose friends who make me laugh
I choose joy
Not once a week
every day
given my unconventional views
I listen to what I choose
donkeys braying, horses neighing
they’ve really got me swaying
to their thunderous declarations of dissonance
~ compared to 'the news,’ what’s the difference
How can I make myself even choose
When I am unsure who I'm willing to lose?
How can I choose whose hearts to bruise,
When I am sure some will not refuse?
Isn’t it odd?
All of the little things
that remain in our
little brains?
One day, you’ll
be walking down the
street, just minding your
own business, when suddenly
you’ll stop.
A sight,
A sound,
A scent,
A memory,
Something you have
never seen, heard, smelt,
or even experienced before
will catch your incomplete attention
so completely.
And send you to
the most magical of
places.
Something from your
childhood,
Something from the
small town you drove through
last autumn.
Something from that
department store shelf
at that street corner you
never thought you’d actually
go to. But then you did.
Something from
a bad day.
Something from a
good one.
All of that energy,
all of that time,
and still, I can’t
put a name to what
that feeling is.
Nostalgia?
No, it goes
deeper than
that.
Much, much
deeper.
After a bit, you’ll
wonder a while,
and then you’ll simply
move on.
Maybe all it is was
grief expressed purely.
Because living
in a world where
things are so temporary
is a bittersweet thing.
Better times,
worse times,
doesn’t matter.
It all
sticks
around.
Standing in the library of lives.
Trying to decide which one to learn from.
Picking up each book, reading the lines that have yet to be.
This life lies, this life hides, this one dies.
Which one is brought out of its slump?
Which life needs careful care?
This life cries, this life tries, this one looked me in my eyes.
Is this the life needing to roam?
Which ones has a home?
This life feels, this life heals, this one is real.
Making the decision that this life will be me.
“Welcome home!” I hear echoing off the wooden rails of the brand new cradle.
Choose to live
When darkness falls upon you,
and, you can't see the light
Look to the maker of the stars,
to show the way
Sometimes the pain of heart is,
too much to bear....
Life can be beautiful...
despite the pain.
Chorus
Choose to live...
even when it seems
the whole world's against you
Choose to live...
forget about the pain
they've caused you
Choose to live...
Remember your life's
a gift from God,
and you don't have the right
to take it!
You may live in a mansion,
or a... cardboard shack
Life can be beautiful
either way
Affliction may bring you sorrow,
but... that's o.k
Look to tomorrow's sun to
shine a better day
Chorus
Choose to live...
even when it seems
the whole world's against you
Choose to live...
forget about the pain
they've caused you
Choose to live...
Remember your life's
a gift from God...
and you don't have the right
to take it!
Bridge
Everyone is beautiful,
in their own way...
look inside yourself
to find YOUR special gift!
Repeat chorus and fade

Revised July 28 with music and vocals
Don't believe the lies that have been said,
Do you truly think you're better off dead?
Shake that thought out of your head,
Let me tell you what is true, what is real,
My friend, you should choose to live instead.
Why do you meet the mornings with dread?
Wake up, come on, rise from your bed,
How about some breakfast so you'll be fed?
Wait at the table while I cook you a meal,
My friend, you should choose to live instead.
If I could choose,
where to lose myself...
I would choose in your gaze!
If I could choose,
where to stay...
I would choose in your heart!
If I had to choose,
between living or dying...
I would want to be in your hands...!
Love roads are all around, we can pick the best road.
Sometimes we travel on a road of love, we find it nice and sunny and smooth.
Sometimes we pick a road that looks unsure, not easy to see the end.
Sometimes we are on a road that feels and looks good but turns out to be a dead end.
Sometimes we break down on a road and get stuck for many years.
Love is like a road we travel, not knowing how it will end up.
Love roads can show us many paths to love or death, some paths lead us to turn around and get off the road.
Some bring us to dark places that we are afraid, some bring us joy that make us feel glad.
All of the roads we travel will leave us with an impression of how important it is to travel around and learn the best road for our happiness.
Love and happiness are the goal; it makes life so much more pleasurable.
Having our needs met can bring us all to joy and happiness in life.
"Lingering leaves of gold frolic / frolicked in the autumn wind"
Quote by the sponsor
A crisp chill in the air, not being warmed by the sun.
I hear rustling, a sure sign that autumn has begun.
"Lingering leaves of gold frolic / frolicked in the autumn wind"
My love of Autumn and its gold leaves will never rescind.
Green turning golden far and wide across the country side.
Autumn’s beauty is truly Mother nature’s glorious pride.
As tangerine and bright ochre leaves, gracefully dance,
The carpet they form as they come to rest will enhance.
The pleasure they bring floating through the crisp air,
A kaleidoscope of colour is forming most everywhere.
Tiny leaves joyfully twisting and turning to do an arabesque,
As if they are performing a choreographed seasonal quest.
As the Autumn wind strengthens the performance takes flight.
Leaves dashing and dancing and spiraling, it’s a wonderful sight.
Caught by a whirlwind, small leaves rise and flutter about.
Larger Autumn leaves soar as if with wings, not to be left out.
